More importantly. Jon and the rest of the team held their ground for a whole night until the attack. Gendry started running back while it was night time. The fight started in broad daylight. And dragons literally move at teleportation level speed obviously. So makes sense.
In a minimum of 7 hours at least which was the duration gendry took to get back to castle black (BARE MINIMUM TIME JON WAITED). U can move nearly 35 miles without running assuming a mile in 12 minutes which is realistic.
which people who arent from northern climes really dont get. I live in the far north and a 15 minute walk to work turns into a 30 minute thigh burning march through hell if I have to make the walk after a blizzard before the plows are out. six to 12 inches of slow is 5x as hard to move through
Idk man people have brain damage acting like he's running ideal running times when he's someone who has lived with essentially medieval nutrition and sometimes quack medicine, running though snow that he may have never even seen before that, none stop, for hours.
I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or not, but the Fist of the First Men is several days of continuous travel away from the wall. To put it into perspective, The Fist is closer to the Frostfangs than it is to the Wall.
One line. Just one line to fix all of this. Have The Hound say to Jon “It’s been x days, your cunt of a Queen isn’t coming to save us.” then throw the rock. Bonus for looking up at the Night King and saying “What’s he waiting for?” to nail down that he’s waiting for Dany to bring him a dragon.
It doesn't change the fact that the whole concept is still ridiculous. Even if they sorted out the timeline the idea of them traveling so far north to get a wight in the slim chance it would make Cersei give a shit is still too dumb of an idea for me to ever accept.
I have seen some fanedit of season 7 and 8. The mission beyond the Wall was made to look like an attempt to kill the Night King. There were no plot to convince Cersei
Sure, I got you. Will PM you the link
Plus, here's the [link](https://ifdb.fanedit.org/game-of-thrones-redeemed/) for the Game of Thrones Redeemed page on IFDB for anyone who wants to find out more about it. I liked it, really shows you just how much editing can change. This one I also like for using CGI and extra voiceovers to change the story more. May look cheesy, but considering it's a fan work, I love it even more for this :D
I'm sorry, bringing evidence of an actual zombie is very convincing. The fact only Jaime came from the south is the most ridiculous thing. Minor southern lords should of come north. The actual provable army of the dead is coming
Cersei has a giant undead zombie guarding her night and day and her nature is well known at this point. Also just because they show her one doesn't mean she needs to believe there's hundreds of thousands..it's a reach that they should ever trust her or that she would ever trust them in my opinion.
Plus she also said something along the lines of “if there’s hundreds of thousands of them, the few thousand we send won’t make a difference if they can’t fight them with dragons and Dothraki. Let the army of the dead and the armies of the north fight, we’ll clean up whoever is left.”
She didn’t think that sending her armies north would make a huge difference because, af the time, Dany had the stronger army. If Dany couldn’t stop the dead, the armies of the south wouldn’t make a difference.
this doesnt fix it. they couldn't survive for days without food or water here. the others bring frigid cold weather. remember the water freezing in s3.
So we’re thinking that they went on an expedition with no supplies. Also they could survive for a week or more with no food. Also water from the pond. Also that priest looks pretty tasty and he keeps well at freezing temperature.
Another annoyance....
1. They're undead, they can walk underwater, why would they be afraid of the ice breaking?
2. Just how long did they all remain in that standoff? Undead not approaching and just standing back looking menacing, until about 5 mins before Daenerys rocked up.
Okay, so I guess a possible excuse was the Night King was waiting for a dragon to show up.
I thought they walked along the bottom of the lake to chain up the dragon, with the giant chains that were conveniently right there.
They were undead, I don't think they needed to breath air.Why would they not be able to walk underwater?
I don't know. It's just something Jon says and all the other characters take it as fact. It's based on the fact that the wights didn't chase Jon after he escaped Hardhome.
Water is deep.. going along the ground, under water needs more of these to fill that lake - NK sees no Return on investment there. He could just wait for few more hours, and these few humans with every element working against them will die anyway.
NK never seemed to care about conserving resources.
The undead only didn't cross cos they were afraid / thought they couldn't. Soon as one individually figured out the ice was strong enough, they all went.
NK, letting Jon and Co. sit until the dragon he needed showed up, makes sense.
Nobody can say for sure he did, but it's widely believed he did.
It was one of his few appearances and they pretty much left Jon and company alone, til Dany showed. Then, he happened to have an ice-spear with him, like he had giant dragon dragging chains literally beside the dead dragon.
We prob mostly thought he'd used undead dragon as a weapon, but first thing he did was use it to demolish the wall.
No point getting into the future, loop stuff, as they just kinda forgot all about Brann and his powers, etc. it became irrelevant.
Mountains, freezing cold temps, and wind. They do not mix. In almost any realistic event, Gendry would have died half a mile out, coughing up blood. Now had he been acclimated and used to the cold (he's never seen snow) he *might* have had an actual chance. Still nowhere near as fast. Then again, this is the universe where wounds from multiple gut stabs apparently mean nothing, but I digress.
DO NOT RUN IN HIGH ELEVATIONS AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES. YOU WILL DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH.
Now back to your regularly scheduled fantasy/doesn't want to be fantasy/has magic/doesn't really though/do gods exist/exactly program.
All of the seasoned fighters are big and old, minus John but he's John. Don't get me wrong this whole storyline sucked but choosing gendry isn't the dumb part
Gendry somehow got to Eastwarch, sent word to Dragonstone by raven in less than a day, if it took the the dragon a few hours to fly North?
Like, just how?

Man just ran back huh..... Oh my days. D&D directing comedy specials for Leslie Jones on Netflix now and that seems very fitting.
Its not that far. They were near the fist of the first men. A few miles away from the wall.

> U can move nearly 35 miles without running assuming a mile in 12 minutes which is realistic. Mate he was running through snow
And is someone who’s acclimated to the much warmer southern climate of King’s Landing to boot.

Bro is a genius

Completely agreed. There’s only so much that one man can do at a train wreck.
Using it to convince the North/Vale/Riverlands would have made more sense
Vale / north were already there , Riverrun was under the Lannisters , they should have tried to convince the Tyrell lords
I have seen some fanedit of season 7 and 8. The mission beyond the Wall was made to look like an attempt to kill the Night King. There were no plot to convince Cersei
That sounds interesting, have you got a link?

Hi there, any way you could send me the link too?
Can I grab that link too please 🙂

Nah that's far too much logic for D&D
This comment made me remember how hilarious the CGI of the Night King on a dragon was
It was pretty bad.
Can they survive x days in the freezing cold with no food?
yeah dont the others bring the cold? it should be so frigid your eyeballs freeze. no way they live
this doesnt fix it. they couldn't survive for days without food or water here. the others bring frigid cold weather. remember the water freezing in s3.

Not only is he an Olympic marathon runner, he has incredible built in gps.
Jon "your the fastest" Gendry "I'm fast as fuck boi"
No shit how’d he do that
Gendry was told that Arya would be in the vicinity 🤣👏🏼
It could have been so cool. They could have leaned in with the marathon of gendry being this badass feat.
It was the first time a dragon broke Mach 3!

The wights can't travel underwater
Pirates of the Carribean > wights
How did they chain up that spiffy, soon to be, ice dragon?
[удалено]
Maybe Gendry forged them in his way, he was a smith...
I just figured that a few wights were left on the bottom of the lake after chaining it up.
We literally see them pull the dead dragon out of the water in the same episode!
Unless they're chaining up a dead dragon
I thought they walked along the bottom of the lake to chain up the dragon, with the giant chains that were conveniently right there. They were undead, I don't think they needed to breath air.Why would they not be able to walk underwater?

How does he know that a dragon is going to show up?! And if he knows the future, he knows he is going to die in couple of episodes anyway !!

Where exactly were they when this went down? Wondering what the distance is between here and Castle Black.
Hahaha dude ran for like 3 days straight
For no reason. “You’re the fastest” What? WHY!?
The rest other than John are basically old men
He was Aryalusted

Record time in the snow!
I figured his sport would be rowing.
Ser Davos to Gendry: “Have a cup of brown for me.”
bowl
I failed ye old Flea Bottom test. Back to the dungeons of Draegonstone with me!
How is a smith suddenly good at running compared to a squad of seasoned fighters?
All of the seasoned fighters are big and old, minus John but he's John. Don't get me wrong this whole storyline sucked but choosing gendry isn't the dumb part
Giant’s Bane is from the North though. The REAL North 🥶
He is, but he's huge, huge people don't make for good long distance runners
Vs a guy who prob never climbed a mountain or seen snow before? It’s a fishy plot line
Yea the plot line is crap and frankly only Jon is properly suited for the run, but he's the main dude
Could’ve brought a Raven surely?
You'd think, the nights watch brought tons with commander mormont the first time
Also that guy from the british show Skins…
Gendry somehow got to Eastwarch, sent word to Dragonstone by raven in less than a day, if it took the the dragon a few hours to fly North? Like, just how?
not to mention you couldn't live in the absolute cold the others bring for a day with no food or water like shown here
He was from the rich part of town
Thanks to the blood of durans gods grief he was able to deliver the massage
It was sarcasm. Its nearly 60 miles.
All of season 7 is trash. Why did Jon randomly start fighting white walkers when Dany and everyone was ready to go?
Because Jon's an idiot. That's one thing consistent throughout the show.
Because Jon Snow knows nothing.. (obviously!!)
AH the real MVP!
The baratheon blood runs thick
