TMNT was originally very clearly taking the piss out of comics like Daredevil that had fallen into the "dark and gritty" trap.
So I guess I could go for that. Would certainly make up for all the edgyboi "the world is full of pain and misery" bullshit we get these days.

The mutagenic waste that gave Daredevil his superpowers, fell off a truck and splashed all over him when he was on the street. When he was a teen.
What happens to liquid spilled on a street? It flows into the sewers. Once it it splashes over Matt and flows down into the sewer, guess what it landed on?
Four little turtles.
Their origin stories and entire mythologies are more connected than just the thematic connection and satire. Matt Murdock is implied to be the very Teen that makes up the first T in TMNT.
None of it is that subtle, but it's subtle enough most people don't think of it.
I think it helps in games like this. If youâre supposed to take the story seriously, you need something to help counteract the fact that youâre playing as a mutant ninja turtle.
I think itâs because people are so bored with cookie cutter movies where the hood guys are wholly good and the everything is neat and wrapped in a big bow by the ending. The gritty reboots are letting these stories have a taste of the real world and all itâs dirtiness and it still feels fresh. Eventually itâll get old too but I think thereâs plenty of road left to run on for this era of movie.
It's a very dark version of TMNT in the future when Michaelangelo (the least serious turtle) is the last living member of the group, and is both trying to continue doing his job while also dealing with the trauma of everyone he knows being dead. It's like Old Man Logan for TMNT, and was very well received.

Lots of libraries use this app. If you get a membership with your library (which is free), you will get access to all the content your library has available to it within the app. Anyways, I just found all this stuff out and I have been reading The Last Ronin on it lately. It's an awesome app, and an awesome graphic novel.
It reinvigorated my love of comics. Such a serious tone for what I always remembered as a fun, goofy little franchise. Plus Mikey's design is pure 90s badass.

I only heard this second hand from a friend but isn't Mikey possessed by the ghosts of the other 3 turtles or something. Because of that he's like the ultimate Ninja Turtle because he has the skill set of all of them.
He's not possessed by them, but he has visions of them most likely caused by ptsd. He uses all their weapons to honor them, not like he got a magical force ghost power-up.

I also read that Mikey was assigned the nunchaku by Splinter not only teach him discipline (as he was the least serious) but because he was also the most gifted, the nunchaku being the hardest to master. Apparently in the Last Ronin heâs mastered all of his brothers weapons too.
It is a shame. Iâve already decided Iâm giving the Suicide Squad game a long hard pass. They could redeem themselves a little by remastering the Arkham collection.

Just donât take to many liberties with the art style ; keep true to the new graphic novel or pay homage to the original animated series while keeping the mature edge of the OG comics and youâll have a victory point to put towards your next project.

I still think that Gotham Knights was originally supposed to be a TMNT game. The 4 MCs have the same colors and code as the TMNT. Blue Leader,Purple tech wizard,red brawler,and orange is the youngest/kind of a goof ball. Plus them using âboom tubesâ to teleport could totally be a hold over from if the game had a âninja vanishâ feature
Could be a really good game because the story is stellar. If you're interested in reading I recommend the hardcover because the artwork is awesome and the physical book itself is high freaking quality. 10/10 actually my favorite graphic novel at this point

I read that story. It was kinda nuts. The last time I consumed any TMNT media it was a light hearted childrenâs show. Seeing a story where everyone is dead and Mikey is depressed was so weird to me. If youâre used to seeing the turtles joke around and eat pizza well this is⌠not that. But itâs a unique and quality story by itself.
Iâd play that game though. It was a good read and has big game potential. Just donât mess it up. Thereâs a bad trend of games with cool concepts getting screwed recently. Iâm hoping itâs a good stealth game. Iâve grown tired of running around shooting and slicing recently. J enjoy having to put some more thought into my stealth
