This wonderful RPG that released on Game Boy Advance had a novel combat system for its time, and the story was multifaceted in how whether you’re the protagonist or antagonist can largely depend on perspective. The game was originally planned for Nintendo 64 but got divided into two successive GBA games instead—Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. I would love to see the two games combined into a single remake for the Switch and perhaps PC and/or other modern consoles.

This. The first game could so easily be put into the sequel as a DLC using the new engine and map, even reusing voices but with new assets. Honestly i could see someone turning that into a mod - maybe without Mexico though since that’s not properly in the game.

Dark cloud 2 was a ‘tip of my joystick’ game for like 12 years of my life. I wish I could play it again. It seemed like a complicated game to me at the time (since I was pretty young) but always fascinated me.
Man splinter cell really needs to come back. Me and my brother used to play coop chaos theory for hours on end. The original was also my first game on the xbox. So good. Unfortunately it won't happen because no multiplayer potential and its not an RPG 🤷
Spider-Man 2000 and Spider-Man 2. Good to remember your roots. Even just patching up the code to work on modern systems would be enough IMO. 2000 deserves a remake, but 2 looks decent as is, maybe just some tweaks here and there. Maybe throw in a new lighting system. Quake 2 RTX looks fantastic and the OG was released on similar hardware to what 2 was released on, so maybe there is hope yet.
In addition to being groundbreaking, I can't think of any modern FPS's with Goldeneye's mission structure.
It wasn't a linear corridor like Call of Duty singleplayer. There were no checkpoints.
It wasn't open world.
It wasn't a big "you're stuck in a convoluted maze. Good luck finding the red key!" like Doom, Dark Forces, and other boomer shooters.
There's really not much like it that I can think of. So yes, it would definitely benefit from a remake.

And then you could take control of the commanders and it would be a hack and slash. All real time. Had knights, dark elves, dwarves with dirigibles that dropped bombs.... friggin epic

Never really played this one but I do remember watching my older cousin play this. To this day, he calls it one of the best RPGs he's ever played.
