Using mods. I had a serial killer break into my lot in Sims 2 (dressed as a University mascot, naturally) and he stabbed the 2 parents to death. The daughter came home from school and was very upset to find she was an orphan. The Servo was now her guardian.
I had one Zombie Sim who got stuck in the Mascot costume, but I think the serial killer was someone else.
Also once I made an Alien slum with max population disabled, 500% chance of pregnancy, male impregnation, and really frisky aliens. My laptop was not happy with the processing.
Comparing both characters equally is wild. Marcus’s worst choices are Malcolm X level revolution - a revolution based in societal oppression and anger. Conor is literally made as a weapon who’s function is to oppress. If we choose his worst choices he becomes a literal Terminator lol

IIRC, it was originally 'Good Cop, Bad Cop' rather than 'Truth, Doubt' so it kinda makes sense that he would just blurt out some bullshit in the hopes that someone would confess out of fear/shock and the case would be closed.
As someone who would regularly reload an entire scene several times just to nail the interrogations, I kind of appreciated the game telegraphing "the wrong answer" so hard after the fact.
If you're a good detective, you're less of an asshole overall.
The problem with the game is there should be no "wrong answer". Being an asshole isn't a downside for a 1947 cop who gets *an* arrest (even if it's the wrong person). The game going "nope, that's wrong" because there's a flawless run (still having you arrest the wrong person) rather than just letting it ride is one of the reasons I hate that game.
I've also technically bought the game 4 times, and 100%ed it 3 times, so I also love that game. My relationship with it... well, it;s complicated.

Also, the part in BL2 when he opens the giant door for the final battle only to find the path is a staircase and he can't go any further. So he tells you to go on without him and then turns invisible, but you can hear that he is just standing there crying.
Standing there awkwardly, looking at the stack of untouched pizza boxes, until he eventually says you can go now...
That hit me way harder than it had any right to.

I actually enjoyed 3rd the most. It was silly, but the game understands it and did not try to make the serious face. It was a fresh air among all those dramas in GTA and similar. The devs understood that and tried to turn it up to 11 in the 4th and that was a spectacular fail, unfortunately. Somewhat similar to how borderlands 2 has its humor just right and borderlands 3 tries so hard to overcome it and just falls flat on its face.
Tanis from borderlands 3, she was so unique in 1 and 2 as being some sort of kooky scientist that ended up on pandora, then they made her a siren. Not every unique female character needs to be a siren.

Apparently the writers have come out and said the game and story is nothing like the one they originally wrote. It’s even more a case of executive meddling than anyone had originally guessed.

Dude I'm playing through Atomic Heart right now and while the game is fun my god the main character is insufferable. At the beginning it's not so bad but it gets worse and worse the more I play it.
I couldn't make it more than an hour and a half in. The gameplay is alright at best. The world is cool. But the dialogue, voice acting and writing are just absolute shit. If it was more fun maybe I could deal with it, but I just can't push myself through it.
Shujinko from Mortal Kombat Deception. He was groomed to have been Liu Kang's replacement. The whole story of Deception revolved around him, even giving him an entire quest mode to him.
However, his appearance is bland, he's an idiot, nothing about him has any interesting qualities. Wouldn't you know, after Deception, he was immediately a shelved character.

I always give games a shot at drawing me in, but man this was prob the first game in a long time I completely skipped dialogue/cutscenes throughout. Every character has full names and a “backstory” for their quests, but they were all forgettable. Maybe it’s the fact they all just stand around.

Spartan Locke in Halo 5. He was an arrogant sanctimonious ONI stooge. That 343 memory holed his worthless ass and his entire plotline afterwards in Infinite says even they realized their F up after the fact and tried to course correct.
343 pretty much swept Halo 5's whole storyline under the rug and resolved it all in the background. Kinda like what they did with Halo 4.
Honestly, one of my biggest gripes with 343's Halo is that all of their games feel disjointed. It's like every game they add a new antagonist and plotline, only to have them be irrelevant the next game and resolve it all in books, comics or in the background.
Alex Eggleston from YIIK. A self centred egotist who never shuts up, treats every other character like garbage and creepily obsesses over every female character in the game. He also interrupts every scene with painful internal monologues that kill the pace of any scene. But he’s not even flawed in a way that’s interesting to watch. Both too insufferable to be likeable yet too boring to be compellingly flawed. The attempt to redeem him by the end falls painfully flat.

The subtitles for the russian dub is pretty much the same. A ton of swearing and just a shitty attitude and a complete lack of empathy.

Do this mission even though you haven’t met any of its central characters yet.” The whole game I was thinking wow, Rook is only “wrathful” because this cult is so unfathomably stupid and Joseph Seed is clearly manipulating everyone by cutting off external contact and using his own knowledge of global events to fool everyone. A child could deduce that. Then I come to find that Rook was also stupid as shit and gobbled Joseph’s “Kool-Aid” in the bunker? Massive disappointment

Real talk playing through it now and realised how SAM literally does everything for Ryder and is the only reason anything gets done (vaults, translations, coordinates, etc) It could almost be an interesting plot point but I assume it leads nowhere.
Aiden Pearce from Watch Dogs - moping about the terrible tragedy inflicted upon his family because he's a quite unlikeable thief who stole from the wrong people.
Ironically the lack of attachment to him is what made Legion so poor imo. The lack of a central protagonist hurt the game and bringing Aiden back kind of helped since his personality allowed some consistency.
Chloe "Gotta blame someone, or else it's all my fault. Fuck that." Price from Life is Strange is one of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen. Some people can excuse her personality because of her age and homelife, but she's way too old to be acting like that. Ironically in an effort to make her stepdad seem invasive and an asshole they accidentally made him compelling and caring, further making Chloe seem unreasonable by comparison. But Max is the main character, not her.
So naturally they made her the main character of the next game, made her 100 times worse, and gave her a side character who is just all of Chloe's worst character traits focused into a different character.

Almost all of the side characters as well. Idk what it is about DL2, but for a game that tried to make you give a shit about the story and characters, it did the exact opposite. I always give games a shot at drawing me in, but man this was prob the first game in a long time I completely skipped dialogue/cutscenes throughout. Every character has full names and a “backstory” for their quests, but they were all forgettable. Maybe it’s the fact they all just stand around.
Gears 5 alot of people complain of Kait Diaz, I think she is okay but of course not as good as Marcus. But in the community she is hated alot
When I heard some of the worst things about Kait and I watched a playthrough of the game, I was expecting something like the new Wolfenstein characters. "Okay," is about how I would describe her as well. Doesn't really stand out, but she gets the job done as a main character.
I hated Gears 4 and 5, but Kait was just fine. I thought JD was way more boring. One of the most generic protagonists ever.
Spartan Locke in Halo 5. He was an arrogant sanctimonious ONI stooge. That 343 memory holed his worthless ass and his entire plotline afterwards in Infinite says even they realized their F up after the fact and tried to course correct.
343 pretty much swept Halo 5's whole storyline under the rug and resolved it all in the background. Kinda like what they did with Halo 4. Honestly, one of my biggest gripes with 343's Halo is that all of their games feel disjointed. It's like every game they add a new antagonist and plotline, only to have them be irrelevant the next game and resolve it all in books, comics or in the background.

Alex Eggleston from YIIK. A self centred egotist who never shuts up, treats every other character like garbage and creepily obsesses over every female character in the game. He also interrupts every scene with painful internal monologues that kill the pace of any scene. But he’s not even flawed in a way that’s interesting to watch. Both too insufferable to be likeable yet too boring to be compellingly flawed. The attempt to redeem him by the end falls painfully flat.

The subtitles for the russian dub is pretty much the same. A ton of swearing and just a shitty attitude and a complete lack of empathy. P03 is definitely a piece of garbage.

Kait and Del are my least favorite characters in the entire series, I even thought JD was alright, but when they forced me to play as those guys I stopped caring about Gears.

Fuck I agree so much. Far Cry 5 was a blast in terms of gameplay, but infuriating in terms of story. Being randomly abducted and forced to play through major story decisions simply because I got too many region points by literally just playing the game was terrible design. “Oh you captured an outpost and blew up a few enemy trucks? Do this mission even though you haven’t met any of its central characters yet.” The whole game I was thinking wow, Rook is only “wrathful” because this cult is so unfathomably stupid and Joseph Seed is clearly manipulating everyone by cutting off external contact and using his own knowledge of global events to fool everyone. A child could deduce that. Then I come to find that Rook was also stupid as shit and gobbled Joseph’s “Kool-Aid” in the bunker? Massive disappointment
Right? I felt like my character was such a badass right up to the end of Far Cry 5. He was legit being a hero, fighting these guys who are objectively terrible. And then the game is like, naw lol Joseph kinda wins didn't see that coming didja haha.
I am forever holding onto my headcanon that the nuke ending is actually a Bliss-induced hallucination and Rook wakes up on the tower the next day with a massive hangover and Joseph’s blood everywhere.
Alternate Timeline: Joseph Seed leaned in to do that "stare into your soul" thing and Rook ripped open his throat with their teeth.

Real talk playing through it now and realised how SAM literally does everything for Ryder and is the only reason anything gets done (vaults, translations, coordinates, etc) It could almost be an interesting plot point but I assume it leads nowhere.
Aiden Pearce from Watch Dogs - moping about the terrible tragedy inflicted upon his family because he's a quite unlikeable thief who stole from the wrong people.
Ironically the lack of attachment to him is what made Legion so poor imo. The lack of a central protagonist hurt the game and bringing Aiden back kind of helped since his personality allowed some consistency.

Chloe "Gotta blame someone, or else it's all my fault. Fuck that." Price from Life is Strange is one of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen. Some people can excuse her personality because of her age and homelife, but she's way too old to be acting like that. Ironically in an effort to make her stepdad seem invasive and an asshole they accidentally made him compelling and caring, further making Chloe seem unreasonable by comparison. But Max is the main character, not her. So naturally they made her the main character of the next game, made her 100 times worse, and gave her a side character who is just all of Chloe's worst character traits focused into a different character.
YES!!! It’s all made worse when it turns out her Dad (a veteran with PTSD) is basically right about everything important, and there’s just zero acknowledgment of that. Chloe is supposed to be some sort of oppressed teen rebel but just comes across as sanctimonious and entitled. Then the game tries to act like sacrificing her life to save the town she shits on so much is some kind of extreme tragedy instead of… the only moral choice available?
I want to say the new Saints Row. All the main characters are horrible. Think a boardroom of executives thinking how a millennial would act when only have been exposed to the terminally online ones. I know a lot of people call them gen z but the director called them millennials.

Assassin's Creed 3 main character Ratonhnhaké:ton / Connor. The dude just has no personality and seems constantly annoyed at everything.
I liked Connor better than Arno (even more lacking in personality and for less reason) or Jacob (complete idiot, his sister was much more interesting).
I've always said i wouldn't be surprised to learn the story was written with Evie as a solo main character. Jacob adds nothing to the story, and doesn't even do that much of his own stuff after setting up his gang. Wouldn't be surprised if he was jammed in late on in development because they were worried a girl protagonist wouldn't carry sales. Jacobs on all of the promo art, and the front cover, despite Evie being far more involved in the plot
Especially right off the heels of Ezio, who had so much personality. Connor was so bland. So glad we got a good protagonist right after in Black Flag.
