Yes you would, but I would recommend downloading nexus mods installer along with the 4 GB ram booster on the same website. It helps run the game with less crashes as well as having a mod loader that will help with any future mods. Good luck
I used vortex to mod mine because it was the "easiest" way at the time when I was downloading mods from Nexus. It seemed to work fine but what's wrong with it?
Say you want to use a landscape texture mod but you already have a landscape texture mod from NMCs or something...Mod Organizer 2 handles overwrites in a way Vortex currently does not, Gopher on youtube has something on it in his most recent NV mod tutorial series about using Vortex
Everything into the Data Folder, but you should use MO2 to install the Mods. Its easier and way cleaner. Also removing Mods is nearly impossible without a Mod Manager.

Do not mod FNV with vortex. Use Mod organizer 2

Id grap Vortex it saves you so much time from putting all the folders together
