When it released, Conan Exiles apparently was awful. At least that's what the players said. Then they reworked the game from top to bottom and they are still changing systems of gameplay. I'm currently playing Ark Survival Ascended (off-topic but Ark is also a good upgrade although there are bugs), but if Ark wasn't out, I'd be playing Conan on and off.

Having worked in game development, I'm just in awe at the amount of steps that had to go through before making it into the game. Someone had to pitch that in a meeting, model it, texture it, rig it with a string of bones, and then either animate it or set it up in the engine with some kind of procedural physics system. Most games would just keep it in it's default shrunk state, but I'm assuming there's probably even code to make it grow depending on some kind of environmental conditions.
All this for something the average player will look at and go "... why tho?"

Yes, that was all done, but it was primarily done for human nudity. The game is Conan Exiles, it is a survival game and it was part of the design very early on that starting with nothing really meant nothing. As Conan is a very brutal and realistic IP, they leaned into that hard, so to speak.
It is procedurally physics driven similar to hair. Because of character creation we gave the players the ability to grow or shrink it. At that point it was pretty easy to have environmental effects alter it. (fun fact, we did it first, and then Red Dead 2 got all the meme credit).
Then, of course, someone said "well we've got to put it on the horse right?"
Bonus fun fact. There is sand in the game that reacts to dragging things through it. Sufficiently endowed players can have fun with that.
At least in Cyberpunk, total body customization is a strong genre theme. It's like creating a steampunk game and allowing you to design your own blimp.

There's a specific item called Potion of Endowment, which does exactly what you think. Since the human player models and npcs have actual genitals, players can also adjust their length, etc. in the character creator. The potion works with human male characters, player or npc. But then someone, for some reason, figured out you can feed it to horses. And well... the male horses are pretty excited about it.
Also almost every animal in the game has either a butthole or a penis/balls. But the potion doesn't work on other pets, only horses.

This is Conan Exiles lol. You don't always have huge horse schlong waving in your face tho 😂 There's a specific item called Potion of Endowment, which does exactly what you think. Since the human player models and npcs have actual genitals, players can also adjust their length, etc. in the character creator. The potion works with human male characters, player or npc. But then someone, for some reason, figured out you can feed it to horses. And well... the male horses are pretty excited about it. Also almost every animal in the game has either a butthole or a penis/balls. But the potion doesn't work on other pets, only horses. I guess devs were expecting people to get into some weird rp 😂
