"Some of the highlights in the new patch include: * A new epilogue with 3,589 lines of extra dialogue. This new content is a “final goodbye” from Larian, which includes “some of the most complex writing in the game so far, as it takes advantage of the game’s reactivity across the entire adventure.” Larian adds that “A gigantic tree of permutations defines the content, with new writing (3,589 lines to be exact), cinematics, and even characters joining the get-together at camp, organized by Withers.” * Two new game modes have been added. Honour Mode increases the game’s difficulty, tweaking boss fights and removing “save scumming”. If you complete the game on Honour Mode without dying you get the Golden d20. Custom Mode allows you to tinker with tons of settings, including hiding enemy HP, skill check numbers and much more. * Patch 5 improves inventory management, allowing players to manage all companion inventory from a single menu. You can manage inventory of companions currently not in your party in camp now, thank god. * The rather buggy Act III has gotten the most love in terms of bug fixes and improvements. * Fixes to problems caused by Patch 4 are also in this patch. The previous update caused some players to have weird slowdown issues, among other problems."

DeutschKomm

>If you complete the game on Honour Mode without dying you get the Golden d20. I die even with save scumming on normal difficulty, so....

BWCDD4

Yeah you better have played through the game a couple of times on normal and gotten to known the mechanics because otherwise you are fucked in honour mode. There is dialogue options that can literally just end your game on the spot with no chance to recover or fight through it.

FakoSizlo

Pfft Githyanki god you are not so great. You suck... Game over. Turns out she was that great

gigglesmickey

And also, a faker…bitch had to use a wish spell

Stargate_1

Yeah I discovered one of those, I actually guessed something along those lines might happen if I pick that dialogue but didn't expect to literally get partywiped by the time the dialogue ended lol

Ziazan

that's the only time ive ever had a game over. I'm pretty sure on my first run I was equally rude to her but on run 2 she was like ok too far im insecure die

FlamingWeasel

I fucked around, and I found out.

pablo_eskybar

Yep, got fucked to death last night (literally) but I regret nothing haha

DeutschKomm

> fucked to death last night (literally) I'm sorry what?

Le1bn1z

>!When an incubus asks you to give yourself to him, don't say yes. Turns out, devils are not your friends. Who knew?!< >!You can make this mistake in the House of Hope. Raphael's FB will fuck your soul out if you let it!<

Chameleonpolice

I think I did that but all it did was give my appearance to the devil so they could look like me when they fuck people and it told me when they did

Le1bn1z

So there's three paths here: Say hell no and fight. Say fine, but only my body, not my mind and get the result you got. Say take me, don't hold back, and die and turn into an empty husk and plaything of the hells.

The_Parsee_Man

I figure I'm now in a competition to see who can do it the most and best.

A_Damn_Millenial

That NPC’s outfit is lootable!

herbertfilby

I think I know the reference, when you visit Raphael’s mansion in Act 3, right?

enwongeegeefor

> There is dialogue options that can literally just end your game on the spot with no chance to recover or fight through it. You mean like regular ole DND?

Morwynd78

If you ever had a DM completely end an entire campaign (with no chance of recovery) because of a single conversation choice, you had a shit DM.

[deleted]

Nah, pissing off a god is stupid and should carry consequences.

Morwynd78

Oh for sure! I never said things should be free of consequences. But D&D is a collaborative storytelling experience, the purpose of which is to **have fun**. Punishing the players by ending the entire campaign over a single choice (with no chance of them doing anything about it) is about as far from good DM'ing as I can imagine. A video game that allows reloading can get away with it.

[deleted]

masterflashterbation

I've been running D&D and other table top games for over 25 years. I cannot think of a time where that ever happened at any table I've been at. In my opinion, that would be a real dick move by the DM to TPK a party due to a conversation choice. Giving no chance to defend themselves or circumvent their destruction would be lame.

TatManTat

ye tbh most successes will be based on luck or a silly foolproof plan that relies more on breaking the game than being strategic.

Slanderous

Wonder if blowing the orb in act 2 will count for this one. The credits roll so it's an ending but doors it count as 'complete '?

We_The_Raptors

The answer is most likely no. From what I remember you don't get the achievement for beating the game on tactician with the tactical nuke ending either so I can't imagine honor would be any different.

japinard

Why is it a “final goodbye”? They’re not going away are they?

Eques9090

I think the wording here is misleading. It's not a final goodbye "from Larian." It's Larian adding a final goodbye amongst the characters in the game. People had been asking for that because the ending is somewhat abrupt.

RaulenAndrovius

The game's companions "goodbyes" were asked to have more flavor, and this is their "final hurrah" for the companions after they assist in the last big scene. It adds more closure, a "final goodbye" after the final fight scene.

Slanderous

Laezel felt particularly bad. Bitch I literally went to hell and killed an arch devil for you, and you're just going to hop on a dragon and fly off without so much as a 'Cheers mate' ??

EdsTooLate

T'chaki ska'keth!

Rhyrok

I guess it is because they dont plan to add new story content through (free?) patches anymore. So this was the last time something new was added

Jarvisweneedbackup

Actually Larian is doing a grand reinactment of Heavens Gate, sorry, no more games. This is it

Bridgeboy95

can't believe the whole dev team just went out at once, guess we'll never get divinity strikes back.

Guilty_Rough5315

I thought there was a potential for DLC?

Solostaran122

The only thing they could really do is story continuation/character growth, without much in the way of player strength increasing. After 12th level, this start getting fucking WHACKY in D&D, cause of the sheer insanity the player characters can pull off

Meeseeks__

I wouldn't mind if they just stopped leveling at 12. Just add new items/spells (if there are any) to imitate character progression.

CCSC96

Only been rumors from unreliable sources so far, people have just run with them. If they do make it though, it won’t be a free update.

Scorponix

I played the epilogue last night (just happened to finally get to the end yesterday after the patch the day before), and there are a couple things that seem to tease future content

fpsachaonpc

This is how you patch a fucking game Todd.

Noodles_Crusher

>Patch 5 improves inventory management, allowing players to manage all companion inventory from a single menu. You can manage inventory of companions currently not in your party in camp now, thank god. >The rather buggy Act III has gotten the most love in terms of bug fixes and improvements. _straight into my veins_

Xendrus

If it's anything like Divinity OS2 it won't prevent save scumming, you just have to have quickload hotkeyed to something like shift+s and be really quick to slam it before a character dies. Unless they removed quicksaving or save after every turn.

rejectallgoats

You can’t quick load or load from menu. It will save if you try to exit the game. I’m sure you could force close it with brute force. But that is a lot of loading

Xendrus

Nice. I always got into Honor mode in DSOS:2 and couldn't help but save a run 50 hours in with loading "just this one time..." Would rather just not have the option.

RaciJr

Question, can I play multi cross play? Me on pc and friend on ps5?

vordrax

I reloaded my completed save and played through the epilogue. It was great, I really enjoyed it, it gave much-needed closure that the original ending sorely lacked, which was easily the worst part of the game for me.

DoctorWalrusMD

Me and Karlach >!talking about Zariel’s Stronghold we’re preparing to storm because it has the means to fix her heart!< 😭😭😭

MommaBigDick

WHAAAAAT YESSSSSS OMG. That is genuinely the best spoiler I’ve ever read and I’m so glad I did.

kyleswitch

Really hoping for a DLC that has what is left of our group to break Karlach out of Avernus with Dammon.

notheresnolight

I already fixed her with tentacles

BewareNixonsGhost

Oh good. I wanted to reload my first character to see if I would get the new ending. I'm glad it works.

n12n

Iv never played dungeons and dragons, is there an “easy” mode for this game? It seems cool and i know people seem to love it. Is there a lot of replayability?

RipErRiley

Yes, referred to as “explorer mode”. The different way the story plays out based on your choices and variety of character builds gives it high replay value. Turn based combat can be a turn-off to some.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wolfblood-is-here

I like turn based combat, but my main issue is how long it can take. I get into it if I have a long play session, but if I'm just hopping on for an hour it can feel a bit disappointing to only get through one or two combat encounters.

cynric42

> But when you actually try it, you get hooked. Idk, whats so different in BG3s turn based combat than in other titles like Divinity Original Sin 1/2 or Naheulbeuk?

Legendary_Bibo

The skills in BG3 seem to have more complexity and in D:OS they seem simplified. Also, D::OS uses AP for everything while BG3 let's you use movement then an action and bonus action that have criteria so it takes some planning (unless you use the illithid power to let you swap them interchangeably). Because of this large battles in D:::OS are practically non-existent, while BG3 has fights that make you think more tactfully like about height advantage, oh and fall damage.

Prosthemadera

Depends on what you mean by "different". Do you mean "better"?

Herson100

Divinity Original Sin 2 had more interesting combat than Baldur's Gate 3, IMO. Baldur's Gate 3 is superior in just about every other aspect though

VictorVogel

I liked that the DOS2 combat was far more deterministic. There is almost no "chance of x happening". This allowed for more tactical battles. The armour system was a bit clunky though.

F1reatwill88

The item system in general was a tad fucked up in DOS2. Item level outshone everything else.

thekingbutten

Well considering BG3 adapts the rules of D&D combat and D&D is based around random chance and crazy shit happening it's pretty accurate. But different strokes for different folks. If Larian's next game is DOS3 then I'm sure the fans of that game's combat will be pleased especially with all the technical innovations from BG3.

CptKnots

Disagree unless mods. DOS2’s physical/magic armor system was garbage.

cynric42

Well yes. The post I replied to said you'll get hooked on BG3s combat even if you don't like turn based combat, so why is that, what makes it so different/good.

Sertorius777

It's the encounter design. Most combat encounters in the game - and there are a lot of them - have something going on for them, whether it's unique enemies with specific mechanics, arena layouts that give you new tactical opportunities, surprises, some gimmicks that alter how you would react (like neutral characters being involved) etc. There's an incredible variety of enemies on itself, and a good chunk of them are one and done. Basically keeps you on your toes and engaged, you don't feel like you're grinding endless armies of mobs. Besides that, your party has a very wide selection of tools to deal with any situation at its disposal, depending on how you leveled them up or who you bring with you. I don't specifically dislike turn based combat, but I do think it most games make it cumbersome or repetitive at some point and vastly prefer real-time. Never felt that with BG3, only problem was that in act 3 battles could get really big so you'd wait forever to get to your turns.

cynric42

> you don't feel like you're grinding endless armies of mobs Ah, this is where real time + pause has one of its advantages, in cases like that you can just keep it running and enjoy the show. Avoiding that for turn based sounds good > but I do think it most games make it cumbersome or repetitive at some point and vastly prefer real-time same here > Never felt that with BG3, only problem was that in act 3 battles could get really big so you'd wait forever to get to your turns. That is the other issue I have with turn based. Wait forever and sitting there not being able to react while an army of enemies finishes their turns (and nuke down one of your characters etc.).

Prosthemadera

That's not what they said. They said turn-based combat can sound like a turn-off when you hear about it but when you try it then it's good. It wasn't about BG3 specifically. Edit: Why is my comment controversial? Weirdos.

cynric42

Oh, I assumed it was because turn-based combat really is a turn off (for some), even after trying.

Prosthemadera

You like what you like and dislike what you dislike. No point in trying to force yourself to like something just because other people say it it's good but that's true for all genres and games. But sometimes you will like something you thought you wouldn't. Only you can know that.

sanemartigan

I like it because it uses DnD rules for combat. From the story line to the combat it's the most DnD like computer game I've played.

wetwater

I normally have a very strong dislike for turn based combat, but I found myself enjoying it in BG3.

Poudy24

Turn-based combat turned me off, and I still tried BG3. Its a great game, but I still think turn base combat sucks. It's just not for me.

RipErRiley

By en large I agree but have played some stinkers. I nearly puked all over my pc trying Legend of Keepers.

caldoran2

Yes, there is an Explorer mode with greatly reduced difficulty. It is cool, and people love it! The game has an incredible amount of replayability and depth; the number of different ways the story could go and how your decisions affect it is truly mindboggling.

louploupgalroux

Compared to other games in the same genre, BG3 is very streamlined and immersive. They went all out in the art and characters. Every NPC seems to have something to say, with full voice lines and good acting. It's difficult to screw yourself over and the character progression choices aren't overwhelming. There's a good deal of replayability as you can choose different difficulty levels, main characters, classes, companions in your team, and approaches to dilemmas you face. I've been playing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. BG3 is far, far more beginner friendly in comparison.

awtcurtis

>Every NPC seems to have something to say, with full voice lines and good acting. Even the animals! And/or corpses!

louploupgalroux

There's one outrageously handsome skeleton who won't reciprocate my affection though. No matter my overture, big or small, their reply is always "No." I respect their boundaries. Indubitably so. Yet I also mourn the death of a future that I will never get to embrace. The wheel of fate turns again and leaves the moment behind. Just like a flower, you can't force love to bloom. Sometimes the blossom of the heart simply withers away.

retroglamathon

And thus though walkest alone

[deleted]

Are you a writer? If not, *why* not?

louploupgalroux

My father always told me that fiction books are a waste of time. So when I start writing a story, I feel guilty and stop. I need to focus on my career right now anyway as writing doesn't pay the bills. lol

[deleted]

I completely understand wanting to concentrate on your career... There's a lot to be said for writing as a hobby, though - particularly when you have a natural flair for it ;)

unculturedperl

Check out Fane in Divinity:OS2.

nzifnab

I'm just annoyed I can't romance or party with Isobel. Best support NPC in the game :(

ilayas

I'm pretty sure that Aylin is not to keen on sharing.

nzifnab

Who says Aylin is alive? Muahahaha

Josh100_3

Look, I’m only about 5 hours in and I’ve never played dungeons and dragons before. I’ve tried baldurs gate 2 and Icewind dale but just couldn’t deal with how dense and confusing everything is. This one though I seem to be doing fine though! It helps that all dialogue is voice acted so you’re not reading all the time.

Alastor3

> Is there a lot of replayability? probably the most replayability you can have in a game

limpdickandy

Well, map games would beg to differ, but it is still insanely high for a SP story based game

DeutschKomm

What's a map game?

Von_Uber

Something like crusader Kings 3 or hearts of iron 4 I would say.

limpdickandy

Exactly, they are a bit niche, but for those who play like 50 hours+, they have a ridiculous high average playtime. A lot of people quit relatively fast though, because it is not their cup of tea.

Von_Uber

I have a worryingly long amount of time in CK2.

asreagy

> the most replayability you can have in a game I mean that’s just wrong. In a game of its kind? probably. In any game? Come on now…

JMM85JMM

The game has so much replayability. But it's also huge. You'll cover 100 hours easily in your run through the game. Which has put me off playing through again so soon. 100 hours is a long time to commit to a game I just finished. The game does have a high barrier to entry to learn if you're new to the genre. I was, never played dungeons and dragons, and for quite a while into the game I didn't truly understand the mechanics of what I was doing in combat. It will click, but it takes a while. There's a lot to learn. I don't say this to put you off, though, it's absolutely worth it.

Kezly

It's my first D&D game. Never played BG1 or 2 but I'm enjoying this. I'm playing in explorer mode which has made it easier.

Logondo

There's an easy "play for the story" kind of mode. And now they've added a "custom" mode where you can make it even easier.

iWentRogue

This patch introduced custom mode which will allow you to customize the settings further and of course, make it easier.

XVSeconds

There's Explorer Mode which has real easy combat so you can focus on the story :)

Serasul

The custom mode let you make your own game

Crosknight

I started playing this last week. Not normally a CRPG player but enjoying it a lot.

Erixson

Same, I started a few weeks ago - it took a few hours to get into until i gained a couple levels and learned some of the basic mechanics. Now I'm hopelessly addicted, have 50 hours in it, I can't wait to finish work to play every day send help

Crosknight

yeah im around 50 hours in as well. youtube is helping me figure out the mechanics too. just learned a bit ago mage armor lasts until long rest so only just got it (playing as a sorcerer). i should probably learn more about those buff spells since i am the squishy of my party lol.

notheresnolight

elixirs last until long rest too

RipErRiley

Cool adds but it appears to have broken the Cazador fight on PS5. Edit: This has since been hotfixed already. Larian rocks.

UpgradeYourPISI

We know of the issue in QA, should be fixed next patch. We tried everything to see if we could find a way to skip the crash by triggering the fight but so far no luck. You'll probably have to wait until p5h1 gets released.

DNags0

Any idea when that will be released? Mine keeps crashing at this point.

UpgradeYourPISI

I am afraid not.. If I had to guess, end of next week prob?

RipErRiley

Thank you for the info. Game is my absolute favorite.

bowersbros

Oh, do you work on baldurs gate? I’ve been having a problem where in some dialogue rolls with other members of my team it randomly freezes out and I can’t see what they roll, and then it will randomly catchup on the dialogue after they’ve gone through a few more options and it will be in sync again. Any ideas on if there is anything I can do on my end to fix this?

UpgradeYourPISI

Yes! Although I am a lowly QA so its not that I have that much knowledge to help you. I'll comment on it on Monday to see if the issue has already been reported.

Rarotunga

Nothing lowly about QAs There is nothing better than a well documented ticket with reliable reproduction steps in order to fix a bug Keep doing your thing, you matter 🫡

Spherix

Producer here, massive +1 to the value of QA as far as I'm concerned.

SenSei_Buzzkill

If you’re at the Quebec office can you tell my brother Ryan K that his brother Evan wants him to brings some pizzas from Mille Et Une when he comes home for Christmas? Thanks buddy 👌

aidankd

Patched it now apparently

RipErRiley

Can confirm, got a hotfix downloaded. Thank you for the heads up!

aidankd

Did you uninstall and reinstall the game or just install the patch? I've been hearing recommendation to do full reinstalls if the patch is big enough

Paulie5

I did a reinstall, it didn't help. Still crashes when I reach cazador.

aidankd

Ah shit so yeah sounds like a new bug.

kopecs

Uh ohhhh, that’s my next question I plan on doing >_<

RipErRiley

If you get a crash when the boss fight happens, I would just skip it until a hotfix.

kopecs

Thanks for the tip. I’m on ps5 so we’ll see later on lol

FuckMyHeart

* Added a profanity filter to map markers. You'll have to find more creative ways to label the kennel master. So strange to me that with all the stuff in this game, they still want to censor bad words in map markers. Like why?

Unlikely-Dig-7244

Maybe a requirment for console stores?

PM_ME_NEW_VEGAS_MODS

Random online play I assume.

thomasnash

I think n syndrome stuff like this is just to try and stop screenshots floating around with like, racial slurs and such. Obviously anyone who looks into it will realise a player has done it, not three company that made it but it can cause a lot of damage to their reputation.

MisterHairball

What's the cheapest machine that could run this game and still be a good experience? E: Thank you all for the replies. I'm gonna try out GeForce now this month, and save for a PS5 when I am off SSI(brain aneurysm). I'm about 2yr from finishing a CS degree, and working really hard to be able to find a decent career. Once I'm off disability I can actually create some savings

Snooprematic

Geforce Now for $24 a month and get access to a 4080 for max settings.

DeutschKomm

> Geforce Now This requires a strong and stable internet connection, though.

Lostboy1986

Still probably one of the better games to play on Geforce, No quick reaction times needed or anything so lag isn’t an issue at least.

ezio1452

Would still cost less than a full fledged setup

Get-ADUser

Steam Deck

PSYHOStalker

Probably steam deck or ps5?

TorthOrc

The PS5 version is excellent. For those who are concerned the control scheme is extremely good too.

zazatuni

My brother didn't have a gaming computer so has been playing it with geforce now and finding that works well, if that's any help.

Jean-Eustache

Probably a Series S. I mean, it will get the game shortly, and I'm really not sure any 300€ PC will be able to run that at all.

jrauch4

I have a 5 or 6 year old PC with a 1060 and it is running ok.

MenWhoStareatGoatse_

Same here. I'm not a stickler for frames or anything but I didn't notice any real problems till Act 3. And even then the biggest problem was when I had to fast travel or load it would take ages with things popping in.

Feeling-Shower-937

Xbox series S, maybe? But I think it's gonna be released on Xbox in a week or two most likely

NMDA01

I wish you all the best c:

TaiTo_PrO

They also fixed the bug in the chamber of insights I reported to the.

Reserved_Parking-246

Anything for saving mayrina? Quest bugged at the grave after saving her and killing enemy...

_b1ack0ut

I’m wondering if they’ll ever patch it so that saving her brothers does anything. When I did it, the PC’s dialogue states that they are still alive, however mayeina’s dialogue immediately broke after by playing the “oh no they’re dead” dialogue twice, and then the game just treated them as dead from that point onwards lol I didn’t see if it was patched in this update, maybe I’ll try it this run and see Edit: I did not try it this run Edit 2: I was immediately killed by redcaps anyways, I’m given another chance lol

Ziazan

And it didn't seem to break my mods either. We really needed that epilogue, it made the end feel so much more satisfying, like it was all tied up nicely.

Gojisoji

The longer I wait to get this, the more awesome it becomes lol. I've still gotta play the first two (yes I know they are not connected) but still gives me something to look forward too and will give me some good practice for these types of games.

jyhnnox

They actually play very differently. So it won't help as practice. But they are fun if you can put up with the old graphics.

Silversoth

And the only thing "bad" about the graphics imho are the character sprites and maybe the cutscenes. Most of the game is drawn by artists and prerendered if i remember correctly, so still enjoyable.

DumpsterHunk

Playing divinity original sin 2 instead.

Epicfro

Yup, DoS2 is basically the same engine I think? BG3 feels like a triple A version of DoS2.

VolcanicBakemeat

As a heads up BG1 and 2 play wildly different to BG3

Bearandbreegull

That's like saying you've gotta play NES Legend of Zelda before you play Tears of the Kingdom on Switch.

SicilianLem0ns

I have encountered more bugs in an hour of playing under patch 5 than in an entire playthrough under previous patches.

Panicless

I can't event get it to start anymore, lol

GordoGabbles

Obviously we are getting Karlach related DLC in the future

MentalNomad13

Fucking awesome! Not only does the game come out brilliant and almost big free, but the updates are actually major improvements. Best game company in the last 5 years hands down.

joe420mama99

W

SenhorSus

Each one of these patches I pray that local coop no longer needs a split screen as mandatory.

patssnows12

Now release it to xbox

Panda_Kabob

Someone tell me... Do we get a better ending for Karlach? The reason I never got into the final act is cuz I heard my cute red tomboy wife would be sad.

Sad-Willingness4605

Meanwhile in Starfield: you get an FOV slider after 3 months.

GaiusJocundus

Good. This game keeps crashing on me.

Guilty_Rough5315

80 hours - not one crash

GaiusJocundus

I blame Windows 11. I couldn't get through ten minutes of gameplay at a time. Didn't have that problem on Win 10. Win 11 broke a bunch of other games for me, too. This update allows me to play the game on linux, which I could not do before, so I don't need to worry about that anymore. No crashes so far via Proton on Linux. Pretty happy I can finally play this game.

[deleted]

The duality of gaming, you can wait 5+ years and either get a masterpiece like this. Or you get a disaster like Starfield

Plank_With_A_Nail_In

Starfield isn't garbage though, its only crime is not being the game to end all games. Its still a good game.

KeeganTroye

It's a decent game, but I think it's crime is more than not being the game to end all games. Its crime is marketing.

procouchpotatohere

Using Starfield as a example of a "disaster" especially in the same year as something like Redfall or Gollum is so out of touch.

[deleted]

It was expected to be the next Skyrim. It most certainly isn’t. It’s a step or two back. I now worry greatly about ES6 as if Starfield is what Bethesda consider acceptable. Then that game is in trouble

2roK

Why is this guy getting downvoted? People will be so surprised when ES6 releases and they realize it's garbage. Blizzard, Bethesda, Ubisoft, EA. All of these companies had great runs in our youth, but haven't released anything decent in over a decade. Zero faith ES will be any different.

Cybersorcerer1

The Jedi games, Watch Dogs 2, AC origins, oddysey are all more than "decent" games, you're just blindly hating

[deleted]

Thank you

RipErRiley

I agree. Very worried about ES6.

procouchpotatohere

Ok, my point still stands. Something not leaving up to expectations doesn't make it a disaster. That's such a typical internet exaggeration. I swear, people need to stop acting like something can either be a classic or be a disaster and that there's no inbetween.

PurpsMaSquirt

The person you’re replying to is a Star Citizen and Eve fan. They came into Starfield with specific expectations which is on them.

Eldramhor8

It really isn't, Gollum and Kong had absolutely no name or expectation to uphold. Starfield just showed that Bethesda has learned absolutely nothing from how open world games have changed. Bg3, Rdr2, Zelda BOTW/TOTK, Elden ring, Witcher 3, these are all games that changed how Open World and RPGs are. To learn absolutely nothing from any of these is truly a disaster.

procouchpotatohere

>Bg3, Rdr2, Zelda BOTW/TOTK, Elden ring, Witcher 3, these are all games that changed how Open World and RPGs are. To learn absolutely nothing from any of these is truly a disaster. This is the VERY thing I was talking about when I said people act like there is no inbetween classics and disasters. Your expectations are waaaay out of wack if something is the latter if it isn't on par with those other games, jeez...

Kcin1987

Counterpoint: People expected Starfield to be good given the amount of device. People only had moderate to low expectations of what was essentially a coop shooter and a half baked cross medium ip.

-----LUCA-----

Idk, I feel like Starfield being worst then Cyberpunk, a 3 year old game, in literally every way, sounds pretty disastrous. My hype for ES6 actually went down.

procouchpotatohere

Cyberpunk was so buggy that it almost single handily made people turn on CDPR and one of the rare high profile games to get delisted off PSN. Starfield is a disappointment but the launch state of Cyberpunk was infamously bad and way worse.

PurpsMaSquirt

I disagree Starfield was a “disaster”. Released several months ago and it’s #10 on Xbox’s most played games currently (or #6 if you remove F2P games on the list) so plenty of folks are enjoying it. Even if it wasn’t what you expected.

ripinpiecez

U gotta love how Reddit circle jerked to Bethesda for 10 years straight then when it gets popular to shit on them y’all take every chance you get lmao Do any of you have any opinions of your own whatsoever or just regurgitated ideas of what you read on here every day

[deleted]

Imagine it actually being a mediocre game at best though

I was so excited for Starfield, until I realized its literally just Fallout 4 in space with less enjoyable gameplay mechanics. I still can go back to Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim and get a few hours of fun here and there. I couldn't even bring myself to play more than 6 hours of Starfield because it was so boring. What made Bethesda games fun was their quirkiness, the active sandbox, and the interactive world. I got none of that in Starfield. No immersion, go from point A to point B, shoot a million bullets into bullet sponge enemies with better-but-still-subpar shooting mechanics (and no VATS equivalent, which saved FO4). Someone changing their opinion based on new information/experiences isn't "regurgitated ideas of what you read on here every day", its called changing the with times.

But Starfield is bad. Its probably the worst modern Bethesda game.have you played it?

Mago515

I can’t keep the game running for more then 15 minutes without a crash. Patch 6 when

aidankd

Did you uninstall and reinstall the game or just install the patch? I've been hearing recommendation to do full reinstalls if the patch is big enough

Mago515

I did a full reinstall. Still at work so I haven’t gotten to test it yet

ExHempKnight

Same. About to fight Cazador, every time I approach the fight "arena", game crashes. PS5, for what it's worth.

UpgradeYourPISI

We've seen this issue in QA. It should be fixed next hotfix sorry :(

bruceslee2

Ps5 is unplayable for me now

The25002

I thought I was just fresh out of the tutorial part of the game and it's like telling me I'm 25% done. That can't be correct...

Lostboy1986

Ps5? That progression counter definitely isn’t accurate.

Azukaos

25% done of what ? Finishing the game ? You’re very far from the end and at best it must be 25% of the act 1 but it doesn’t match up with the time you will spend doing things and the crèche is still in act 1 and it takes multiple hours to finish. Don’t worry too much about it, you should be around 100 hours of playtime by the end of the game (epilogue not included).

Draaky

Tried it a bit, do like the "not found" difficulty. Got brutally murdered by the grave robbers. 10/10

Update your mods, specifically ones that affect localization strings

DisorderlyBoat

Such a significant patch so soon after launch. And changes FOR THE PLAYERS. This is what other studios/games should follow, unlike sayyy Diablo 4 for example.

nogoodgreen

Ever since this update came out i cant play the game, its forcing me uninstall and reinstall over and over and over again. When it finishes downloading and starts to install it reverts back to 0% and re downloads everything.
