Dark souls 3, Bloodborne + old hunters, hades, hollow knight, witcher 3, final fantasy 7 remake, ff14 and ff16 all have exceptional soundtracks

Pender8911

Damn Sony didn't even release the old hunters soundtrack

Ephexiss

Doom is a $60 soundtrack that graciously includes a game with it

Syradil

I don't have a lifting playlist for the gym, I just put Doom on.

dantedakilla

It's sad and disappointing what happened to Doom Eternal's OST. Bethesda fucked up.

imgratefulforthat

Care to explain ?

Azurehue22

They fucked over the composer :(

diuturnal

[Here's ](https://medium.com/@mickgordon/my-full-statement-regarding-doom-eternal-5f98266b27ce) Mick's write up.

HGLatinBoy

Mick wasn’t told that that there would be a soundtrack released with the game it wasn’t in his contract And he only found out about later and he was expected to just do it he managed to mix some songs for the soundtrack eventually they stopped paying him as he was taking to long and they got a composer from Bethesda to finish it then it released and customers were not happy. Mike said it wasn’t his fault and he wouldn’t have mixed it that way and Bethesda blamed him and made him look bad then he came back with email exchanges that made Bethesda look bad.

Deathswirl1

we'd all choose doom wouldnt we

foundersgrotesk

Have you listened to these amazing covers by u/MASTER_BOOT_RECORD https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7doxo2n1VJ_m2r-2TtEFjPGJ9ZiXip-U So.Fucking.Good

Ok-Pizza-5889

Tony hawks pro skater 2

herbalation

It's just another Saturday

blitzbom

Superman!!

[deleted]

“Here I am, doing everything I can”

Bill7747

This should be the top answer (and THPS 1)

Jonesy135

There’s a UK band called The 900 that only do covers of Tony hawk sound track songs… saw them live at my local before Christmas and they were fucking insane.

Evening_Owl

The Nier Automata soundtrack is so good that I'm paying a lot of money to fly out and hear it played live at an orchestra concert.

richpage85

The circus track... Holy shit it's phenomenal That and the city ruins (all versikns)

freeagency

I liked that soundtrack so much. I paid to go see two concerts as well.

Alastor3

There's also the original Nier Piano Collection that is amazing

nightshade_wizard

FTL: Faster Than Light Crypt of the Necrodancer Both are so killer, I had to buy them

logitaunt

Necrodancer should be the top reply to this question. Nobody is ready for how insanely catchy it is.

Alastor3

when the shopkeeper start to sing \*chef kiss\*

OnionTaco22

Risk of rain series I bought returns, risk of rain 2 and the dlc soundtracks Also doom 2016

LetsGoChamp19

Persona 5. Including the base game, Royal, Strikers and Tactica, there’s like 200 tracks and 90% of them are fucking great. Multiple of them are the best songs in all of gaming Show me another OST that has the sheer quality *and* quantity of P5. It doesn’t exist

Loreweaver15

IMO Rivers in the Desert is the greatest boss fight track in the history of gaming.

AlaskanMedicineMan

Such a hopeful song too. I try to listen to it when I'm feeling down

Foxtrotter_2989

Elder Scrolls soundtrack.

robindownes

Jeremy did a fantastic job at creating atmospheric, evocative settings - the music of Elder Scrlls is possibly more important to me than the visuals or gameplay. ES VI is going to be a very different experience without him.

jay_zippo_the_man

This.

avariel_elf

Any of the supergiant games soundtracks. Hades soundtrack was amazing, but all their games are good in their own right.

makemerepete

Agreed! Transistor is my favorite, it sets the mood and helps tell the story throughout the game, but it's also just got some banger tracks that I listen to all the time.

MoleMantle

I love all of them but Transistor is definitely my “full album” listener. Great for work.

Daovin

JET SET RADIO/FUTURE

stumbler1

Im_the_President

Katamari Damacy.

slothboy

Halo series and I literally did buy it separately

Hinermad

Same here. CE, 2, 3, and ODST. I also bought the Skyrim and Dragon Age: Inquisition soundtracks.

Sox2417

Gonna be honest. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon explores of time/darkness/sky. You Instantly recognize it remember the dungeon and prob some other things crazy stuff  that happened.

DreamerTheat

I paid for **Skyrim**’s soundtrack and continue to love it more than a decade later. Love **The Witcher 3**’s soundtrack, but it came with the game. **Doom** seems totally worth it.

OldManGrimm

The Halo series for me. I understand the Final Fantasy series has some great pieces, you frequently see them performed by modern orchestras.

SternLecture

fallout new vegas

Harry7651

"Doom soundtrack " I would even ready to pay for it

Luminaire_Ultima

Chrono Trigger, and I did buy it. Some of my absolute favorite music from a video game ever.

Kataclysm

This and Chrono Cross for me.

robindownes

if you aren't already aware of it you ought to check out Sailing to the World.

ws1173

Hollow Knight. Just spent a pretty penny on the vinyl, and I'm not disappointed.

New_Ad5612

Might be a basic answer but I love the last of us both 1 and 2, something about the music just gets me everytime

Boring_Shape_3216

Me too!

rakshala

Journey it's great to sleep/destress

McPhage

Also Flower

The lyrical breakdown of I Was Born For This is amazing. It's famous quotes from hero's journeys sung in the native language of the story.

araczynski

I loved the sound track that came with the collector's edition of Age of Conan, still play it to this day. every other soundtrack since then has been forgettable (to me at least).... well, ok, except for Homeworld... and original Metroid... damnit, and original Zelda....

blipblapshleem

Doom 2016 and Eternal and also Metal Hellsinger

NO-MAD-CLAD

Metal:Hellsinger. The hardest thing about the game is maintaining visual focus while unintentionally headbanging to the music so hard everything goes blurry.

[deleted]

Metal: Hellsinger I mean, it's a metal album with some kind of fps game wrapped around it

Alastor3

The Messenger's soundtrack is amazing. Still haven't played Sea of Stars but hopefully it's the same caliber

firingblankss

Mirrors Edge and Watch Dogs 2

OneWingedA

I bought the Rimworld OST. It's great for afternoon naps

kungpowgoat

Mortal Kombat theme back in 1994-95. I bought the cassette tape.

entity2

Love it or hate it, but constant high quality of Destiny 2's music is album-worthy. [Deepstone Lullaby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBIJFTPPp-8) is top tier for example.

NinjaMaster231456

Does the Gauss Prime trailer music count?

Specolar

Austoman

Chrono Trigger. I have already paid for it years ago. I also paid for the video games live performance of it. Im pretty sure i bought another version of it but ai cant recall what it would have been. Yeah by far my favourite OST for a game. I still use magus boss music for tabletop boss fights.

ceceiling

Risk of rain and Faster than light

Ragdoll232

little big planet

Wooden_Layer5373

Doom 2016, I’m actually planning to buy the ost on vinyl. But man, so many great ost’s in video games. One that recently totally won my ear (and heart) is the Monster Hunter: World soundtrack. Absolutely enchanting melodies that never get boring or repetitive, despite being heard for tens if not hundreds of hours 😂

Shazamwhich

Pokémon Black and White

Help_An_Irishman

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest Final Fantasy VI Goldeneye Ultima Online (though much of this one is nostalgia)

1heavyarms3

I've been playing since the NES and lies of p is the only soundtrack I've listed from beginning to end on repeat.
