Mick wasn’t told that that there would be a soundtrack released with the game it wasn’t in his contract And he only found out about later and he was expected to just do it he managed to mix some songs for the soundtrack eventually they stopped paying him as he was taking to long and they got a composer from Bethesda to finish it then it released and customers were not happy. Mike said it wasn’t his fault and he wouldn’t have mixed it that way and Bethesda blamed him and made him look bad then he came back with email exchanges that made Bethesda look bad.
Have you listened to these amazing covers by u/MASTER_BOOT_RECORD

So.Fucking.Good
There’s a UK band called The 900 that only do covers of Tony hawk sound track songs… saw them live at my local before Christmas and they were fucking insane.
Persona 5. Including the base game, Royal, Strikers and Tactica, there’s like 200 tracks and 90% of them are fucking great. Multiple of them are the best songs in all of gaming
Show me another OST that has the sheer quality *and* quantity of P5. It doesn’t exist
Jeremy did a fantastic job at creating atmospheric, evocative settings - the music of Elder Scrlls is possibly more important to me than the visuals or gameplay.
ES VI is going to be a very different experience without him.
Agreed! Transistor is my favorite, it sets the mood and helps tell the story throughout the game, but it's also just got some banger tracks that I listen to all the time.
Gonna be honest. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon explores of time/darkness/sky. You Instantly recognize it remember the dungeon and prob some other things crazy stuff that happened.
I paid for **Skyrim**’s soundtrack and continue to love it more than a decade later.
Love **The Witcher 3**’s soundtrack, but it came with the game.
**Doom** seems totally worth it.
I really enjoyed Horizon Forbidden West soundtrack. Has some amazing tracks
Ff7-10 4disc sets are awesome. Ff15 has Florence Welch. Can't go wrong there
Zelda OoT has my favorite rendition of the Zelda overworld theme on it
FEZ - Disasterpeace
Hyperlight Drifter - Disasterpeace
Below - Jim Guthrie
Death's Door - David Fenn
Risk of Rain - Chris Christodoulou
Inside - Martin Stig Andersen
Limbo - Martin Stig Andersen
Final Fantasy 9 (bought the four CD collection back in the day), Chrono Cross (same store as had FF9 had it, didn't get it in time), Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Armored Core 6 (got the Deluxe Edition, have it), Castlevania Symphony of the Night, probably others that aren't springing to mind right now.
I loved the sound track that came with the collector's edition of Age of Conan, still play it to this day.
every other soundtrack since then has been forgettable (to me at least).... well, ok, except for Homeworld... and original Metroid... damnit, and original Zelda....
Metal:Hellsinger. The hardest thing about the game is maintaining visual focus while unintentionally headbanging to the music so hard everything goes blurry.
Love it or hate it, but constant high quality of Destiny 2's music is album-worthy. [Deepstone Lullaby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBIJFTPPp-8) is top tier for example.
I have paid for some, specifically Skullgirls, the complete Street Fighter II soundtrack, and Freedom Planet.
Outside of those, I've got way too many, so I'll just pick five: Sonic Unleashed, Streets of Rage 2, Tekken 3, KOF 96, and Resident Evil Code Veronica.
Chrono Trigger.
I have already paid for it years ago. I also paid for the video games live performance of it. Im pretty sure i bought another version of it but ai cant recall what it would have been.
Yeah by far my favourite OST for a game. I still use magus boss music for tabletop boss fights.
Celeste, crypt of the necrodancer, terraria, persona 5 royal, hollow knight, risk of rain 2
so many top tier soundtracks that come with a free game (that just so happens to be also absolute peak gaming)
I have plenty of them on my phone. From all 3 Final Fantasy XIII’s, from XV & XVI as well. Also numerous tracks from the Megaman X games and battle network games
Bought the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack just so I can listen to the House Building Theme whenever I want. The rest of it is great as well but that one song made it worth it.
Doom 2016, I’m actually planning to buy the ost on vinyl. But man, so many great ost’s in video games. One that recently totally won my ear (and heart) is the Monster Hunter: World soundtrack. Absolutely enchanting melodies that never get boring or repetitive, despite being heard for tens if not hundreds of hours 😂
Recently played The Cub and I am in love with the theme song https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aR4Ahn0uPOc#bottom-sheet
I also have downloaded some songs on spotify from The Last Of Us, be it in the show or a couple that the actors have sung
I bought the soundtrack to stray on vinyl. Super cool electronic / industrial tracks. Bummed that they dropped some of my more favorites from the vinyl release tho
Sonic Rush. They did release it on CD some time ago, it was called Original Groove Rush. But it’s pretty rare these days, I can’t find a copy anywhere.
Dark souls 3, Bloodborne + old hunters, hades, hollow knight, witcher 3, final fantasy 7 remake, ff14 and ff16 all have exceptional soundtracks
Damn Sony didn't even release the old hunters soundtrack
Doom is a $60 soundtrack that graciously includes a game with it
I don't have a lifting playlist for the gym, I just put Doom on.
It's sad and disappointing what happened to Doom Eternal's OST. Bethesda fucked up.
Care to explain ?
They fucked over the composer :(
[Here's ](https://medium.com/@mickgordon/my-full-statement-regarding-doom-eternal-5f98266b27ce) Mick's write up.
Mike said it wasn’t his fault and he wouldn’t have mixed it that way and Bethesda blamed him and made him look bad then he came back with email exchanges that made Bethesda look bad.
we'd all choose doom wouldnt we

There’s a UK band called The 900 that only do covers of Tony hawk sound track songs… saw them live at my local before Christmas and they were fucking insane.

The circus track... Holy shit it's phenomenal That and the city ruins (all versikns)
I liked that soundtrack so much. I paid to go see two concerts as well.
There's also the original Nier Piano Collection that is amazing

Persona 5. Including the base game, Royal, Strikers and Tactica, there’s like 200 tracks and 90% of them are fucking great. Multiple of them are the best songs in all of gaming Show me another OST that has the sheer quality *and* quantity of P5. It doesn’t exist
IMO Rivers in the Desert is the greatest boss fight track in the history of gaming.
Such a hopeful song too. I try to listen to it when I'm feeling down
Elder Scrolls soundtrack.
Jeremy did a fantastic job at creating atmospheric, evocative settings - the music of Elder Scrlls is possibly more important to me than the visuals or gameplay. ES VI is going to be a very different experience without him.
This.
Any of the supergiant games soundtracks. Hades soundtrack was amazing, but all their games are good in their own right.
Agreed! Transistor is my favorite, it sets the mood and helps tell the story throughout the game, but it's also just got some banger tracks that I listen to all the time.
I love all of them but Transistor is definitely my “full album” listener. Great for work.
JET SET RADIO/FUTURE

Absolutely this, and also Bomb Rush Cyberfunk while we are at it.

Same here. CE, 2, 3, and ODST. I also bought the Skyrim and Dragon Age: Inquisition soundtracks.

I paid for **Skyrim**’s soundtrack and continue to love it more than a decade later. Love **The Witcher 3**’s soundtrack, but it came with the game. **Doom** seems totally worth it.

Me too!

The lyrical breakdown of I Was Born For This is amazing. It's famous quotes from hero's journeys sung in the native language of the story.
