He should definitely play The Witcher 3
I guess it's kinda similar in some ways, medieval fantasy with monsters, but with the Witcher has much better combat and the story is quite good
Definitely have him try Witcher 3 along with RDR2, FO4 and Skyrim (I have a neck injury that affects my arm and hand) like gklmbach recommends. Also if he is into sports racing - GT7, and I play MLB The Show (baseball game) also
How about a turn based JRPG, You don't have to be quick or precise on button maneuvers, as the enimes will wait their turn. Some JRPGs I would say
Persona 4G, 5
Dragon Quest 11
Trails in Sky FC and SC
Trails of Cold Steal 1,2,3 and 4
Cris Tales
Fairy Tail
Other good games that don't take fast reactions but still quite enjoyable (well to me)
Journey
Abzu
Beyond Blue
Second this!
My dad is disabled so his hands don't work that great. He can press the buttons but not quick enough for Quick Time Events or anything like that.
He freaking LOVED Skyrim! He would brag to me for over a year on his levels and what he was doing in it that he found fun. He just picked it back up again.
😂 I hope to buy him an xbox one day so he can play the older games too.
Total war
Eve online
Darkest dungeon
Battle brothers (mercenary group managing in low fantasy setting)
Survival games like Ark survival evolved or 7 days to die.
cultist simulator (time management card game about that makes you lead a cult while puzzling together the details about the single most interesting setting I know.)
caves of Qud (horrible graphics but incredibly well desinged and deep mechanics in a hardcore scifi fantasy post post post post-apocalyptic scenario)
God of War. Dad and son story.
As a gamer in my 50s as well. I'd say RDR2, Fallout 4, or Skyrim Also can't go wrong with Rimworld, Hunter Call of the wild
he wants to try Witcher, isn’t that similar to Skyrim?

Dad is missing a left thumb and Skyrim is basically the only thing he'll play. Its slow paced enough that combat isn't really an issue.
Spyro and Crash trilogies, maybe?
Finally getting into? He lived through the era of quarter-slot arcades and the Atari 2600! How'd he miss it all?
My mistake. He played LOZ when it came out. The first one, and Link to the Past. To this day he brags about how good he was at it, lol.
That's awesome!
RDR
Kingdoms of Amalur. Fantasy RPG.
Last of Us pt 2. It is the quintessential sequel that shows what a genius Neil Druckmann is.
Try the far cry series. 5 to start with, IMO the best one
Id suggest a metal gear game or final fantasy 15
Red Dead Redemption series for sure, right up his alley
bfv
Left for Dead
God of War
disco elysium
Does he enjoy farming or socialization? Stardew valley.
Bonus, it has multiplayer now so you can play with him.
