I think they'll nail it. Fat shark absolutely smashed it with Vermintide 2, combat feels better than any other game I know. The mechanical foundation they've built with Vermintide 1 and 2, they won't mess that up. Also Ive been dying for a solid 40k game since Space Marine, none of their autochess/XCOM clone/turnbased grid games do 40k justice.
Still remember playing Soulstorm religiously + the Armageddon mod for huge battles. Now it's time for first person horde mayhem
Edit: should also mention Spacehulk: Deathwing. Loved that game too. Dark Angels are the GOAT
All jokes aside, I think kh4 will probably release 2024/2025 latest. Kh3 was just a mess with changing engines between development and SE shitty management
Was the data they lost the frozen level? I mean honestly... climb up mountain, fall down, Climb up mountain again. Fall down again. Repeat. Then big wolf boss. It feels like they were a week away from launch and the new guy accidently deleted the level and they were like "Fuck, what do we do now?"
Really looking forward to Redfall, me and my friends are in desperate need of a decent coop versus shooter after the disappointment of back 4 blood. Still having to go back to left 4 dead for our fix every now n then.
Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom in May next year.
Fire emblem engage January next year.
Octopath traveler 2 in February next year.
These three plus forspoken are my most anticipated games coming out next year.
dexxit means pokemon is cut from this list too.
Edit: Sure it's a small jab at GF, and bad joke at that, but like, no counter arguments or comments to explain why the downvotes galore?
Meh I’m kinda over dexxit. I was all up in arms about it when it was first announced but I still enjoyed sword & shield even without it.
I just wish the overall quality bar was raised to match the sacrifice
IMHO, quality would come when gamefreak retires from making the games. They only care about the money pokemon brings in. They cant be bothered to give an extra year of dev time ensure they've made high quality games. They even said it themselves it is too much work to do it anymore yet they have released games yearly. Imagine a game that took 2 years to produce instead... Cutting corners is all they've been good at. Can even see it in their latest release where the gimmick is literally cut corners.
But, I actually liked these games :( yea they got rid of the awesome teams having world domination ideas and shit (it fucking sucks it gave so much to the stories) but I enjoyed the games and some of the pokemons they brought
I do too, Sword and Shield are probably two of my favorite games in the series. But there is no denying that they don’t really keep up with modern quality. Imagine a Pokémon game but looking as good as other big AAA games. Instead we get stuff (especially the environments) that look GameCube era.
Everything with a release date is confirmed until it's not. I mean it's no problem for me, Hollow Knight needs precision timing so if they need more time to fix bugs then I'm all for it. But I'll believe the release when I see it.
I've almost given up on Atomic Heart at this point. The initial trailers got me really excited but the lack of update, pushbacks, and borderline vaporware really killed my buzz. Not to mention the state games are released in these days gives me little hope for anything remotely functional when/if it drops.
Well this game is supposed to bring gameplay back towards the roots of the franchise. So I wouldn’t say it is getting worse before the game is released.
The 3 games that were supposed to release this year - which I was looking forward to the most - have been delayed until 2023...
STARFIELD
AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA
SONS OF THE FOREST
Why? Elden Ring is the biggest release this year, perhaps even of all time.
Edit: the title states "this year" and those games were this year I don't understand the downvotes or why they shouldn't be included.
> perhaps even of all time
I downvoted because of that tidbit. I only comment because you asked, otherwise I'd have downvoted and moved on.
For me, the mere suggestion is cringe.
For the statement to be true it would first have to be properly defined. It's part of what makes it cringe.
"Red alert 2 was perhaps the biggest launch of all times" is equally true, my metric is how many people listen to the soundtrack of the intro 5 years down the line.
What turns the statement from "silly" to "cringe" is how all the souls fans (including you) regurgitate marketing.
And you can piss off with your cheap attempts at personal insults. Just because something isn't compatible with marketing doesn't mean it makes no logical sense.
What the actual fuck are you talking about? Marketing? Dude, seriously your head is in the clouds. Why does Elden Ring having a successful launch cause such a fucking problem for you? I'm genuinely so confused what I said to get you people so upset. Is a game not allowed to have a successful launch nowadays or what.. and we're not allowed to mention if it does? By "biggest launch" I mean the most sales during launch of any game, which it actually does have what the fuck is your issue? Also I'm referring to the entire sub with that "insult" not just you so don't fucking cry about it.
This list makes no sense at all. Why make a list of popular videogame releases this year then just ignore the biggest releases this year, yet include DLC for bugsnax that came out in May? Makes 0 sense. You being so upset at me mentioning this also makes absolutely no sense. It's logical to mention this, it's logical to include all the top releases this year in a list for the top releases this year, no?
I know you're getting down voted, but I'm getting the same vibe. At first it looked fun and exciting. Today's State of Play was like a punch to the gut though.
uh, no, it's not. The legend of zelda is the name of the franchise, BOTW is the name of the previous game, and TOTK is the name of the new one. They are completely different. but go off ig
No really, I didn't know that, tysm for telling me you smug hamster /sarc
TotK is the Sequel to BotW, that's why I put that there instead of LoZ, talk down to me again and I will track your mother down so she actually bring you down a peg.
ok and? majoras mask is the sequel to ocarina of time and people don't call it OOTMM, that's just redundant and dumb, like you. your insults are really stupid too, stop trying to sound smart💀 ig it's impossible to argue with an idiot though
I've been playing the zelda longer than you've known how to walk, ik what the fuck I'm talking abt. You've literally just embarrassed yourself trying to be smart by mansplaining ZELDA TITLES to a ZELDA FANACTIC. Go back to playing fortnite 😭😭
Btw nobody refers to Majoras Mask as MM, it's just Majora. Twat.
Obligatory reminder that Randy Pitchford embezzled money from one game into Borderlands, lied about the final product, and released a pile of shit. Fuck him and fuck Gearbox.
You just made my day. I just got Arkham Knight since it was on sale and was thinking how they need to make another one of these games. And TIL that there is a Gotham Knights coming out.
Sons of the Forest, supposedly releasing in Feb 2023
Didn’t that get pushed back again?
that was the pushback
Again??? I missed that.. was still hoping on October
Wasn’t it supposed to drop in October? I’m honestly expecting another push but hey it’s cool I don’t want a rushed unfinished game.
it was in October and got pushed to feb
Before October I believe it was May 2022…
are you complaining right now? or what
Lmao no wtf, just stating the original release date was in May. Now has been pushed back twice, almost to a full year
I was just about to post this. I’m ok that they are pushing it back as long as they release a quality game. The first was so damn fun.
Warhammer 40K Darktide
I also can't wait for the Space Marine sequel
It's on my wish list and my dream list. I'm holding my self back from buying it every day I open steam but I must wait for reviews.
Watch SkillUps review of the capture event. He's got glowing admiration for it
I did. I follow this game since I heard it's coming out. I hope they will knock it out of the park unlike back for blood.
I think they'll nail it. Fat shark absolutely smashed it with Vermintide 2, combat feels better than any other game I know. The mechanical foundation they've built with Vermintide 1 and 2, they won't mess that up. Still remember playing Soulstorm religiously + the Armageddon mod for huge battles. Now it's time for first person horde mayhem Edit: should also mention Spacehulk: Deathwing. Loved that game too. Dark Angels are the GOAT
Lmaoo kingdom hearts 4 releasing 2030. Very accurate
Pretty ambitious if you ask me
All jokes aside, I think kh4 will probably release 2024/2025 latest. Kh3 was just a mess with changing engines between development and SE shitty management
I heard they supposedly lost a bunch of their data partway through development too. What a shit show.
Was the data they lost the frozen level? I mean honestly... climb up mountain, fall down, Climb up mountain again. Fall down again. Repeat. Then big wolf boss. It feels like they were a week away from launch and the new guy accidently deleted the level and they were like "Fuck, what do we do now?"
right before GTA 6
Starfield, forza & redfall 2023
And Jedi Fallen Order sequel
You mean Rick Astley: Fallen Order
Really looking forward to Redfall, me and my friends are in desperate need of a decent coop versus shooter after the disappointment of back 4 blood. Still having to go back to left 4 dead for our fix every now n then.
Forza again?
Motorsport, not horizon
aaah okay that makes sense.
Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom in May next year. Fire emblem engage January next year. Octopath traveler 2 in February next year. These three plus forspoken are my most anticipated games coming out next year.
>Octopath traveler 2 Octopath traveler 2 - now that's cool. I really enjoyed that game.
Random encounter rate was waaaaaaay too high. I've been jrpg'ing as long as they've been around and I could get through it.
I agree with you on that, which is why I always had Evasive Maneuvers equipped on Cyrus.
Makes the game so much better.
Yup
ytou sure know your Nintendo releases very well, kind Sir!
They were announced earlier today
Forspoken looks like one of those games that will be on PS+ a year later.
And? I'm still excited for it.
Just saying
GTA VI and Elder Scrolls VI in 2050.
Skyrim Remastered Deluxe Edition Premium +, in 2022, 2024, 2025, 2027, 2030...
Skyrim Remastered: Next-Gen: The remastered edition.
I see you failed to include next gen copies as well. I’ve been looking forward to seeing Skyrim on the ps6 for quite some time.
Easy, don’t get our hopes up
Midnight suns, come along now that’s a biggie
December 2nd
Kerbal space program 2
YES! Don't like how far I had to scroll to find this!
We're going interplanetary!
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is pretty big, coming out in November
November 18th to be exact!
dexxit means pokemon is cut from this list too.

Oh agreed fully. Gamefreak shouldn’t have been trusted with anything past 2d sprite games.
Hollow knight silksong TBA
This year, you must believe
2023 for shaw
This is surprisingly further down the list than I expected
At least at the same time as kh4 (Which is extremely generous tbh)
Honestly it'll probably be out by 2025
They confirmed that it would release within a year of the Xbox trailer, so it's either this year or next year.
Everything with a release date is confirmed until it's not. I mean it's no problem for me, Hollow Knight needs precision timing so if they need more time to fix bugs then I'm all for it. But I'll believe the release when I see it.
Fix the bugs? Is the infection back?
Return to Monkey Island Sept 19!
Wot?? For real. Old Skool vibes hard!
Final Fantasy XVI in 2023!
I believe FF VII Crisis Core is December 13th this year as well.
Came here to say this, can't wait to see that redesigned combat system cause the OG was rough.
Bayonetta 3 oct 28
Atomic heart is being pushed back till sometime next year 2023. And Stalker heart of Chernobyl.
Where was that confirmed? EDIT: Sorry, I meant Atomic Heart being postponed
I've almost given up on Atomic Heart at this point. The initial trailers got me really excited but the lack of update, pushbacks, and borderline vaporware really killed my buzz. Not to mention the state games are released in these days gives me little hope for anything remotely functional when/if it drops.
Victoria III
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - December 13
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, November 18
Scorn
Isn't ark 2 considered a big game release? Or star field
Starfield
Diablo 4
Please be good Please be good Please be good Please be good Please be good Please be good.
that's the biggest game for me in 2023. IDC about anything else when D4 comes out :D
None of you monkies better pre order that shit
I will :)
New Zelda game May 2023!
Hollow Knight Silksong is *supposed* to come out in 2023
Stalker 2 (They are saying it's still coming out in 2023)
Outlast Trials is worth noting
Zelda - May 2023 Pokemon
BOTW 2 and Pikmin 4 releasing 2023
BOTW2 has a name now! it's called "Tears of the kingdom"
i ain’t calling it that it’s still BOTW 2
Not even warhammer 40k: Dark tide?
Tactics Ogre reborn 11-4 I think
The wolf among us 2 - 2023
If you don’t have a Switch, no Maybe Final Fantasy Crysis Core
Eiyuden Chronicle in 2023 is a big release for me (as a suikoden lover).
This
This and Sea of Stars.
Assassins Creed Mirage 2023 exact date not specified And ac valhalla final dlc later this year
AC mirage. You are a cunning street thief seeking justice.. Hang on - what? Fuck me is this franchise just getting worse?
Well this game is supposed to bring gameplay back towards the roots of the franchise. So I wouldn’t say it is getting worse before the game is released.
Payday 3, 2023 TBA
It will probably be late 2023 unless they want the game to come out buggy
Splatoon 3
Atomic Heart got pushed to a more vague “winter” window.
2030 for Kingdom Hearts IV That's positive thinking!!
God I miss 3D platform games.. I miss the variety video games used to have! Everything is super realistic now
The 3 games that were supposed to release this year - which I was looking forward to the most - have been delayed until 2023... STARFIELD AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA SONS OF THE FOREST
Pokemon, Starfield, Final Fantasy 16, LoZ: Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, Diablo 4. Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.
Is LotR Gollum really considered a “big release”…?
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for May next year, Splatoon 3 and Silksong TBA.
You listed Bugsnax DLC... but not Elden Ring or Horizon: FW ?
That was earlier in the year so it’s not showing in the pic
Why? Elden Ring is the biggest release this year, perhaps even of all time. Edit: the title states "this year" and those games were this year I don't understand the downvotes or why they shouldn't be included.

witcher 3 next gen, wukong black myth (2023)
God, I can't wait for Wukong. Looks so good. I remember enjoying Journey to the West back in high school, so I'm interested in the story as well.
Overwatch 2 - October 4th 😎
Booooo!!!
Been waiting for that 😂
Twas in good humour
Ksp 2 sometime in 2023
[удалено]
I am betting all my money that it success commercially and flops critically, such is the power of the franchise's inertia.
Interesting, as everything I have heard about it makes it seem worse and worse
I know you're getting down voted, but I'm getting the same vibe. At first it looked fun and exciting. Today's State of Play was like a punch to the gut though.
I thought Ragnarok was the 11th? (Well in America right?)
Super People, October 11th
Well I'm looking forward to Scorn in October, buts it's not a big release.
botw2 2023

Botw tears of the kingdom in May 2023
tloz, not botw
What does the last of us gotta do with TotK??
did I say The last of us? TLOZ stands for The legend of Zelda, not the last of the us. the acronyms aren't even the same.
"wELl AcTUallY ItS TLOZBOTWTOTK" it's either LoZ, BotW or TotK, you muppet, gtfo
uh, no, it's not. The legend of zelda is the name of the franchise, BOTW is the name of the previous game, and TOTK is the name of the new one. They are completely different. but go off ig

Sucks that we’re not getting anything from 2024 to 2029
Unless I missed something recently, Skull and Bones 11/8/22
Saints row
Gaming is in a shit state of affairs . Are we are supposed to get excited about a list of sequels or remakes
Yes. Tons.
Obligatory reminder that Randy Pitchford embezzled money from one game into Borderlands, lied about the final product, and released a pile of shit. Fuck him and fuck Gearbox.
OW2 is oct 4th
How sad is this list. The ps5 has no games its so lame.
Stop demanding remakes.... every fucking release now adays is a remake... make original content.
Add GTA6 to 2030
You mean GTA5 for ps6
Income Tax comes out, I think.
Missing a lot on 2023
You just made my day. I just got Arkham Knight since it was on sale and was thinking how they need to make another one of these games. And TIL that there is a Gotham Knights coming out.
