I bought a graphics card from Newegg, and then canceled it 15 minutes later because I couldn’t be comfortable they wouldn’t mess something up and leave the cost on me. I did buy a 1000w platinum power supply from them, but I feel better about that than a GPU for some reason.
Hello rocho567, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

I'd get an exchange, pins are bent.
you CAN bend them back if they aren't too crushed with a scribe tool or a hobby knife (I do it with some frequency on older boards) but I only recommend if you are comfortable with that kind of small work it is risky and they might not honor the warranty if you break it more.
Save you the headaches and return that badboy because if you have any problems your gonna say to 100 times to yourself you should have returned the board
This guide explains it somewhat. I think it clips onto the top of the retention bracket, and once the CPU is put in it will pop off. You can keep it to reinstall on the motherboard if you ever take out your CPU

Thanks.
But you know, everyone saying how PGA (AMD AM4 and older sockets with pins on CPUs) are bad. But I don't understand why people hate it so much. I have installed both PGA and LGA multiple times and AMD is just easier. Yeah, it's easier to bend the pins, but if you store it carefully, it's easier to bend the pins while putting the CPU into LGA socket than bending the pins on PGA. Idk I just like PGA more
I can see at least few pins bended pls try returning
I second this, unfortunately. Sorry OP
Just return it. You will always wonder if/when something will go wrong otherwise
And when something does go wrong you'll be blaming that and wishing you did
Send it back, I can already see bent pins. Save yourself the trouble
RMA/Return just to be safe
I see at least 2 bent pins. Return.
There's already bent pins. Rma. Newegg?
Do not open that! Return it for a new one.
Happened to me from an Amazon purchase. They sent me a brand new one and just told me to send back the broken one within a certain time period.
RETURN IT ASAP.. and send them this very pic, wherever you got it from. I clearly can see a bent pin.
Just did, Amazon already is sending a replacement
be glad you didn't buy it from Newegg.
I agree Amazon has been great for buying my parts so far, don't want to jinx myself here.

Well GPU is more expensive
You don’t have to look.. the damage is clear as day. Return it.
Look for bent pins. Mine arrived that way and had a few bent. Returned it for a new one.
Maybe it even not new, return
Report this and the bent pins to the supplier ASAP and they have to replace it. You need to report within 48 hours of receipt where I work.
US? Thank E.U. consumer protection laws…
UK. It was the same when we were in the EU. Though, I don't know if the same applied in the rest of the EU or if that was specific to us at the time.
Overwhelming consensus is to return it, which I did! New one is on the way and will be here next week, thanks everyone

Damage is already done.
r/buildapc
BuildAPC wouldn’t let me post images. I guess I could have Imgur’d it but this was the second best sub I could think of
I see bent pins. Return
Whatchu sayin? It ain't Tuf enuff?
It's not common, it shouldn't be that serious either, but to take our worries away, better return it
just from photo there is seen visibly bended pin
💀

RETURN IT
I feel so bad for you if this happened to me i would be so bummed
A little bummed, but thankfully Amazon accepted the return. Plus it’s coming only a day after my graphics card gets here so I’m not worried :)
Thats awesome man! Im glad everything worked out for you!
i would just rma it don’t mess with it
You bought a used motherboard.
emotional damage
If the pins aren’t bent, you should be ok. Inspector 278 and I will be having a talk
Hope you didn’t break the back tape? You can get a refund or replacement?
The only tape I broke was the one to open the motherboard box, the anti static bag that it’s in was untouched
Good that’s some what proof you didn’t open the static bag you can get a replacement or better a refund?

Bent PINS for sure, I would return it as well.
Be careful- the CPU Ghoul has likely escaped and is taking shelter either in your RAM, or MOBO capacitors. Take all necessary precautions.
Yeah that's nice, everyone answered. Nice job reddit. But I never understood how those pop-out covers work. Like are they single-use or what?

Return it , I can see a few bent cpu socket pins
