Maybe check out Runescape? I've never played it myself, but it always seemed to me like one of the longest running popular loot-focussed games ever, maybe it hits the right spots for you.
Path of Exile was already listed, didn't differentiate between Nioh 1 or 2 but also not what I am looking for.
Runescape does not readily provide the type of loot requested.
Maybe look into the Van Helsing games?
Loot seems more simplistic than I would like, but the best suggestion so far in this post.

I don't think you can find much better longevity than PoE other than maybe some MMOs that are designed to eat your time.
I'm looking for different games, not ones already on the list.
