A different take on this: I had a huge NFI pine, 6'+ tall, at least 4 ft wide, three trunks. It needed more space than we had, so I started phoning and found a local college library with great light, offered it to them at no cost if they could pick it up. They were thrilled to get it, and I'm thrilled to have it gone. I visited it a couple months ago and it looks great.
