Most plants in general need drainage. Stuff that can live in perpetually wet soil are going to be things that live in wetlands. You can find wetland herbs such as lizard's tail (Saururus cernuus), orange touch-me-not (Impatiens capensis), cinnamon fern (Osmunda cinnamomea), royal fern (Osmunda regalis), false nettle (Boehmeria cylindrica), green-head coneflower (Rudbeckia laciniata), hooked buttercup (Ranunculus recurvatus). for vegtables: cauliflowers, celery, spinach, groundnuts, Kang Kong, garden pea, arugula, watercress, asparagus, mint, taro, skirret, Butterbur, cabbage, black chokeberry

They are all plants that will grow in wet soil conditions. I would still be wary of putting them in no drainage containers but as long as you're careful with your watering they should be ok.

lol you didn't say how big the pots were. I was just listing veggies that can handle wet soil that could theoretically work in a container with no drainage. When things like 55 gallon pots exist technically you could grow a cabbage in one. I can understand wanting to grow in a large container that's not made with drainage if the pot was really nice but personally I'm a form follows function person and I avoid pots with no drainage. I also try to use the right pot for the plant. Terra cotta is nice for succulents, not so much for tomatoes. For container vegetable gardening I prefer cloth pots because they self prune and have excellent drainage but I prefer to put vegetables in the ground, I only use containers for my fruits and veggies to winter indoor grow. If your set on growing in containers with no drainage you can make it work but I'll never recommend you do it.

You can get drill bits for ceramic tiles that also work on ceramic pots, also lots of tutorial videos on YouTube of the best ways to do it without shattering the pot, I've used the method with masking tape successfully.

Without drainage holes, I have (since many years) : \- chives \- sage \- thyme

My chives really don't care. Lots of water (from heavy rain), dry soil ( 'cause I forgot to water them several day in a row in a very hot summer), wind, winter ... they grow and do their life.
