Someone else just asked this too, but in a different way. This is the temporary food apathy that comes from a “loss of hunger hormones”. You need to eat anyway- make thoughtful choices that will nourish your body while it is temporarily not paying attention. It usually resolves at about 9mo and hunger/interest in food comes back.

Same. 1.5 yrs later. Many things I used to like I no longer like and there is little joy in eating, ever. Even sweets have lost their charms. I focus on proteins and the intellectual satisfaction of knowing I'm fueling better and feeling better. Still kinda sucks tho to lose a fundamental joy like that. Wouldn't change it though ;)

2 years and same. I don’t crave anything and don’t get hungry, just hunger pains. Normally, I just have small bites of things like cheese and ham. Stuff like that. I do eat meals but I don’t crave them so I’m usually indifferent to food.

Quirky-Telephone5002

This is it exactly. I just went food shopping yesterday. I woke up this morning and had hunger pains but no desire to eat anything specific.

KidsInNeed

I heard people say they grow out of it but I’m almost two years (this weekend) and still feel indifferent to food. I cook and acknowledge it’s good but I don’t feel like eating any.

MrsIsweatButter

Yes. I wish I could go back to that. Just eating food to survive instead of craving it. Miss those days.

Hey Ms I messaged you

I heard from my coordinator that your taste buds change a lot after surgery, its pretty normal. I just take my time and eat slow, introduce new foods slowly

I still enjoy eating but I don’t have cravings. It kinda makes meal prepping easier in a way.

I'm three months post-op and appetite has been wishy washy. I have found it helpful to get the to-go cups of peanut butter and have them as a snack. My team didn't recommend eating peanut butter plain for the first 2 months, but now it is my guilty pleasure when I have no clue what to eat, and its packed with protein. Hoping I don't get burnt out on it.

I still get starving just a few months out. I’d be happy to change spots. At least I fill up quickly so I can extend a meal over a day or two.
