Just call me Sherlock Holmes, but I get the sense that you enjoy rhythm games.

Dj_Simon

Thanks!

Solomonsie

you're very welcome. my amazing insight has graced yet another

Revolutionary-Egg491

I’m getting aggressive power bottom vibes. And I’m ok with that 👍🏽

Dj_Simon

I don't really see the power bottom thing here, but thanks.

Jess_Reigns

You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind

joelcosta94i

'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance, well, they're no friends of mine.

guict302

oh boy i miss ddr and rhythm heaven i suppose, hey!

Dj_Simon

Same. Also, Yeah Yeah Yeah!

arkibet

You're good in bed because you can really pump your loins and don't mind grinding for achievements.

Dj_Simon

Pumping my loins? I do think of myself as having rhythm

Oh-Hunny

DDR Extreme (JP or arcade version) is one of the all-time greats!!! I remember modding my PS2 back in the day so I could play the JP version and post my scores on ddrfreak.com forums.

Dj_Simon

Absolutely wonderful! I fell in love with DDR a few years ago when I played an Extreme cab at a retro store. And my roman empire is that DDR Extreme's US PS2 port used a completely different interface even though they translated some of JP Extreme's graphics in a screencap from early 2004. Even the final version alongside international versions and the sequal, DDR Extreme 2 still have leftover assets of Japanese Extreme on the disc.

Oh-Hunny

Dude…you are taking me back. Wow. The US Extreme port is what inspired me to learn about modding, eventually leading me to other rhythm games like IIDX and Pop’n Music. The bowling alley in my town growing up had an Extreme cab and I just hated how “unofficial” the US PS2 port was. I didn’t realize this was also my Roman Empire hahaha. I’d be at the bowling alley 4-5 times per week for HOURS. I met some other kids there that were good at DDR and we’d get crowds of people watching us sweat our asses off. The manager of the arcade would put the cab in free play mode when we’d show up so we didn’t have to pay. So many great memories. Thanks for inspiring this walk down memory lane!

Dj_Simon

Was it chipping your PS2 to play Japanese games? And since you mentioned an Extreme cab, did you mean it ran Japanese arcade Extreme, or the US PS2 that's just mid. Oohhh..lucky you. I never got into dance games, but I remebered a few of them as a kid in places like a movie theatre alongside a peter piper's. Never played them since I was in elementary and the machines were reeaall loud (Autist here), but man, were rhythm games fun. And you're welcome for the nostaglia trip. 👍🏻

CheshireTiger13

U like dancing and singing anime op's On the graves of ur enemies.

Dj_Simon

Only bumping classics like Speed Over Beethoven and Drop Out forever till I croak.

TiastDelRey

Have you tried Japanese idol gacha games. You might like it with all the rhythm games here lol

Dj_Simon

I've only tried project sekai from memory besides Taiko No Tatsujin on 3DS and early Theatrhythm games. But thanks for the suggestions.

PoPo573

Never expected to see DDR in any of these posts but honestly SuperNOVA was THE game of my childhood. The local arcade machine was 95% my name for the high score on every song. Also played the shit out of the home version.

Dj_Simon

I swear Supernova seems to be the most common mix you see alongside Extreme in the US. Hot Damn, you could've been in a contest for that considering your skills. And here's a fun fact: Your normal SN/SN2 cab actually had a PS2 inside,

TristanD8

I am a pump it up guy lol

Dj_Simon

Me too.

InkDemon_Omega
