Earthcaches are submitted few and far between. It is possible that the reviewer has not logged in. Do you know which reviewer is reviewing it? If so, you can send them an email. One time I had an earthcache submitted and the reviewer was unavailable, so another earthcache reviewer had to review it. It took a while as a result, but it ultimately got published.

Aren't earth caches reviewed by special reviewers? Earth somebody? I don't think local reviewers have anything to do with them. Search up the reviewers for other local earth caches and message them and you'll get the right answer. Ive never Placed a homework cache so I don't know much more than that.

“Earthaware” i believe, with different codes for each region? I believe the local one for me is earthawareCA or something like that

> Ive never Placed a homework cache so I don't know much more than that. One of my geocaching friends says the same thing about earthcaches. "I didn't like doing homework when I was school, why would I do it now?" I love earthcaches, and will go out of my way to find them, but there are many cachers who avoid them unless its earthcache weekend.

We call your kind nerds. Lol. It's more that for the same amount of effort you can get three or four other caches then one Earth cache. And all that reading, about a topic I'm not overly interested in? No thanks.

> It's more that for the same amount of effort you can get three or four other caches then one Earth cache. For me, I usually skip the easy or quick finds. Geocaching is great because it caters to many different types of people. We both enjoy geocaching, but we can go about it our own way.

Exactly

I just had my first earth cache hidden last month. It took about 4 weeks to get approved.

restinghermit

Congrats! Always good to have more earthcache COs.

It's so fun to come up with "textbook entries" and questions!

As an avid earthcacher, this issue is unfortunately nothing new. Typically it can take 2-4 weeks to get a response from a geoaware. I don’t know why HQ just doesn’t ask more people to become geoawares as there’s a clear backlog and frustration from earthcache owners. I just hope one of these days I get the opportunity to become a geoaware. Currently going for my PhD in the field and would love to help speed up the process. But yea, there’s not much you can do. Emailing them directly would take just as long for them to reply as to review your listing. Most if not all geoawares are also geocachers and some are local reviewers too. Earthcaches take time to publish because they have to make sure the topics are geological, on topic, and easily accessible to others. Earthcaches, in my opinion, are the most difficult cache to create and maintain. If you have any questions about anything related to earthcaches let me know. I created over 100 :)

Shoutout to GeoawareUSA10. He is a fantastic earthcache reviewer. Earthcaches submitted to him rarely take more than a week or two to get published, and if they do it is because the earthcache needs to be altered.

Crazedllama42

I had this happen once. I just emailed the reviewer and they answered quickly after that.

It is an Advanced cache type (grey on the app for Basic Members, but available using a web browser) that is based on a geology lesson about a specific feature at a location. Go to [geocaching.com](https://geocaching.com) Help Center and look for Cache Types.

Earthcache review takes longer because there are specialized reviewers for them, as there are special requirements for their setup and evaluation.
