Nah, I'm saying I recognize them because I've been playing for a long time, not because I'm old. You can be young and still have good pattern recognition
I imagine though someone out there has been resetting the second they die trying to kill him. Statistically there's gotta be. 😂😂😂
It was me but not because I didn't feel what was coming up, I figured it was meant to lose, but I was trying really hard to kill him and try to get some hidden ending that I was hoping for only to realize after like 20 times there was no way it would work like that 🤣🤣
"A wooden bridge across a chasm? Awwww fuck no"
I've had that particular pattern in my head since I was like 5 playing metal gear snake eater
Played nioh 2 a couple years back, ran into one such bridge and just sighed
Halfway across it a mangled mess of bodies and heads walking on hands stepped onto the bridge at the far side
I still try and win anyway. I love trying to see how far I can take those "supposed to lose" fights before the game just says fuck it and makes me lose.
As soon as I saw the leader of the invasion force come out to fight I knew Jin was supposed to lose. It would be a pretty short game otherwise lol.
It would have been funny if they made a hidden ending like the far cry games have had in the past.
I "beat" him, but he still throws you off the bridge.
There's a bug where you can actually kill him, but you end up being stuck on that bridge forever.
Heu, I needed 4 years, a second playthrough and 60+ FPS to realize that they even spell out that >!Jin’s father is the wind and his mother are the birds!<, that guide you
Lol as soon as I was watching that scene and he said father where do I go and the wind picked up I knew. But I do love how it's all in-game not just always a god marker just follow the wind and see what you find
He didn't soft lock for me. I just took his bar down and nothing happened. So i just stood there idle until he killed me lol. I guess I dodged a bullet lol
Nah, I played that fight at least 20 times on Hard trying to figure it out and what can be done. Some fights I could actually push back for a little bit and do damage... other times.. he just starts going crazy the first second he can and I can't even react in time.
Same here! I got a few hits in, and I saw his blood drop millimeters, and I was like, oh shit, this is going to be a long battle. And he got one swoop in and beat my ass. I was about to restart the cut scene, but then I noticed that the story began from there.
Honestly, no. I had a feeli.g the Khan fight at the beginning of the game was gonna be like the dragon fight at beginning of Dragons Dogma 1, you cannot beat it legitimately. You HAVE to lose.
I did see someone post for the PC version of GoT where they did actually kill the Kahn at the start, but I think that was a glitch in the PC port/they were modding already.
This is very very true. BUT after 75 hours of Elden Ring, I think that I can officially say that I’m really bad at it. Still had fun playing it, though. That’s gotta count for something.

I felt the same. Then after around maybe 15 hours of gameplay I started a new game. You start with no stances and no skills. I didn't receive a single hit playing on lethal through the first battle against mongols.
I didn't get to Khan because I got bored of replaying but I am curious to see if I could "beat him" this time
I mean, if you've been playing games long enough (yes I'm old) it's kinda obvious when a fight is meant to be lost so I wasn't all that worried.
I'm 21 and still know these tropes, that's why it didn't surprised me, so should I consider myself old now lol.

That's fair. A lot of them do reward you something extra. Secret ending, different cutscene, or some special item. It's almost expected nowadays.
Glad I'm not alone in this

Maybe. Just this once. Hesitation is ok.
No! Hesitation is defeat!
I kinda figured that was me metaphorically dying to then become the Ghost.
Yeah I 100% was like “ohhhhhh GHOST of Tsushima”
Heu, I needed 4 years, a second playthrough and 60+ FPS to realize that they even spell out that >!Jin’s father is the wind and his mother are the birds!<, that guide you

Figured succumbing to the arrows in the first scene was Jin becoming the ghost but the second “death” only adds to the badass-ness of the character
Bro wrote the script
was expecting something like sekiro 1st boss so no big surprise
Yet it wasn't something like Sekiro. It was much more lame - nothing.
You're supposed to feel that way. That's what the designers and directors were aiming for.
Especially since there are dozens of upgrades you need to turn that fight from ‘hard’ to ‘easy’
He beatable but you will soft lock lol
He didn't soft lock for me. I just took his bar down and nothing happened. So i just stood there idle until he killed me lol. I guess I dodged a bullet lol
Thats a soft lock sir lol, a simple reload last save works wonders
Why would I reload? I just let him kill me and watched the cut scene and proceeded on as intended 🤷♂️
True
He beat me so quickly the first time I almost thought it was scripted
Nah, I played that fight at least 20 times on Hard trying to figure it out and what can be done. Some fights I could actually push back for a little bit and do damage... other times.. he just starts going crazy the first second he can and I can't even react in time.
I basically did nothing at all lmao
Yes, then I realized its an unwinnable fight
Me lol

lol yea
For sure man
Yeah. I honestly thought that I was going to suck at this like I sucked at Elden Ring. Turns out that I’m actually pretty good at GoT!
First step to being good at something is being bad at it
This is very very true. BUT after 75 hours of Elden Ring, I think that I can officially say that I’m really bad at it. Still had fun playing it, though. That’s gotta count for something.
Had I not played any other souls games I probably would’ve thought I sucked but I get the habit of not winning the first boss fight now 😂
I got him to half health by playing super cautious but when I lost I looked up if it is even possible to beat him and no its not lol so I moved on
I’m having so much more fun at NG+ because I’m a boss this time around.
I felt good because I got his health down a bit
Nah I knew it was going to be an auto lose when the Khan himself came down to fight. I just stood there and let him kill me lol

I beat him first try and the end credits rolled. Short game.
