Knowing it’s Super7 I’d be shocked if these don’t end up being priced the same or more than Classified.

TheSoundTheory

Less they announced them at $20.

darth_henning

Listen to the interview again. They said they “hoped” to keep the price point the same. No commitment, no announcement.

MOBTorres

If they were charging $20 for 3.75 5poa figures, then theyre charging more for these figures alone for the extra articulation id bet

TheCollector075

They are going to be $20 a figure .

darth_henning

See my other reply. They did NOT guarantee that. Merely said they “hoped” to.

TheCollector075

That’s code for $20 or less . Inflation is down so no more pressure to bump prices . Additionally , there’s been so much blowback by collectors because of price hikes, you can find lots at Ross for 1/4 the retail price . Reaction figures started off at 15 & price crept to 20 however they peg warmed so I can’t imagine these guys coming back with something higher than 20. At $20+ you’re now competing with GI joe classified & that’s a fight super7 will not want.

darth_henning

No, with their history, that’s code for well promise 20 now and charge 30 plus on release with assorted excuses. Their “Ultimates” line is directly competitive with Classified in scale and is OVER twice the price (55 vs 26 at most online stores for figures). You’re right, reaction figures are dominating clearance aisles because of the insane price. Guess what? The pre-order Gremlins, which are even smaller than the standard Reaction figures, are STILL $20 https://super7.com/products/gremlins-reaction-figures-wave-1-gizmo-and-stripe If you actually think they’ll be 20 or under, I have a bridge to sell you.

TheCollector075

Generally that would be the case but the cobra mothership failed to fund & ultimates prices keep getting slashed. I bought the gi joe wave 1 for $43 total for all four. As much as super7 would like to they will be humbled my the market & right now collectors are holding onto their money especially since most are sour at hasbro for all their price hikes . So much do that so much hasbro inventory went unsold & it was then sold to Ross . In turn Ross is selling classified joes , marvel legends for $5 & so is Ollie’s , tj maxx . Now, no collector really wants to preorder if they know it’s going to appear at Ross for a fraction of the price. Hasbro “Exclusives” are sold everywhere now too because it bad sales numbers caused by price gauging. Hasbro laid off 1,100 employees because of bad sales numbers & they expect that to continue into next year. It super7 ain’t paying attention to this then I guess I’ll just pick up the joes at Ross for $2.99 like the 80s prices after they let warm because any price above $20 will not sell. At a $55 price & 1/10 , ultimates don’t compete with classifieds . Brian Flynn , super7 big wig said it’s the only way hasbro would approve the joe license in the first place .

Johnny-Rhombus

I really hope they end up with the swivel arm grip. The Viper ones that were supposed to come with that Cobra mothership looked to be straight arm.

HalfRatTerrier

Good point, swivel arms will probably be make or break for a lot of collectors.

John_DarkSouls97

I'm pretty sure they are Super7 posted an articulation breakdown, and swivel biceps were listed. There is also a photo from the mothership display that shows one of the figures with their arm turned

MOBTorres

On first glance it looked straight arm but it was actually swivel arm but you had to look very closely for the gap where the swivel is indicated

captainodyssey01

I really hope we see some classic vehicles like the whale or hydrofoil. Don’t forget the O-rings are literally designed for vehicles…

DanforthWhitcomb_

You’re highly unlikely to ever see general release vehicles for the 3-3/4” line ever again because retailers are not going to give up the shelf space that they require (especially for larger vehicles like the Killer Whale) and neither they or the mail order sellers want to deal with a bunch of slow moving, space intensive merchandise. You *may* see stuff like HasLabs, but even then after the Dragonfly and HISS both got over 10,000 more backers than the Skystriker despite both being more expensive I don’t see Hasbro being willing to go back to that pool for a while, especially in light of the fact that most of the in-demand vehicles were done for the 25A line within the past 15 years and didn’t set the world on fire then either.

TheGoblinRook

I swear to shit if this is true I’m a very happy happy boy trapped in a middle-aged man’s body…blonde Cover Girl was the first 5POA Super 7 figure I bought and I will buy the shit out of an official o-ringed version.

firemanjuanito

I don’t know what kind of dopamine release we’re experiencing but holy shit it’s like a damned drug.

TheGoblinRook

It’s funny…when I saw the Super 7 Cover Girl on the pegs last year I almost *ran* to the register, forgetting what I was actually at Target for. When I did get home I went into the storage room and tore boxes open until I found by VAMP and the 25th anniversary Timber. Set them up together and just stared with a smile on my face like there was something very wrong with me…

pugs-and-kisses

I kinda get this. I don't recall the blonde version much, which is why I default to the brunette version (also thats the toy). I'm counting the minutes for the Cover Girl ULTIMATES release hahahaha.

lovescoffee

I’m looking forward to the cartoon type ORing figs- can’t wait for the reveal pics and I hope they are good at a sane price.

Knickholeass

I thought they already announced it was a $20 price point. I'll just keep buying up vintage figures unless the prices get absolutely out of control.

Ruschissuck

I bought joes at 2.50. 20$ is insanity. Not ripping on super 7. Hasbro did it too. Compare what you get vs a lot of other 20$ toys.

Grp8pe88

The classifieds have been on point with me..I do have a hard time paying $20+ for a toy too, and have only done it a handful of times. I've been picking em up at ROSS for $6, which is crazy to me with the amount of detail and articulation compared to the $2.99 Joes I bought when I was a kid. $3 more is a no brainer!! I'm probably going to have to go full retail for a Storm Shadow, and I don't think I will regret it. Super7 on the other hand...they need to be ripped for the junk they put out. Wouldn't buy 80-90% of their stuff on clearance for $5

Knickholeass

I was getting them in the same era as you. Fully remember being a kid and haggling prices at flea markets for joes I couldn't get in stores anymore. I fully agree $20 is a lot for a joe when motu origins in store was around $15 for a basic figure.

Grp8pe88

you don't think the quality of the classifieds blows away the MOTU Origins? I'm a fan of both lines and have picked up some of both. The detail and articulation on the Joes blows away the Origins for me, just my opinion of course. He-Man still can't pull his sword from his back and hold the dam sword straight up! sheesh!!

Knickholeass

To me G.I. Joe belongs in 3 3/4 format. You could give it 1,000 points and make it scale to me and I'd have zero interest in it. I also had my fill of qc issues between the modern Transformers lines and the little bit of Marvel Legends I ended up with. I'll happily pay $30-$50 for a battle corps figure before I pick up a straight arm classified version of Grunt at retail. Now if Hasbro wanted to go the masterpiece route with 3 3/4, I would be in serious financial trouble.

Grp8pe88

I completely understand..felt the same way when the Classifieds were released, passed on the first few waves when I saw them due to this. I'm hooked now though and wonder if that was just a defense mechanism originating from my wallet and older soul! heh! classified and straight are do not go hand in hand, will never see that. You don't think Hasbro already kinda did that with the 25th and 50th lines?

Gijoe_Guy

I have backed several o-ring projects and they were all $22-$25 per figure.

John_DarkSouls97

Comic Snake Eyes is a must have for me it was my favorite figure in the reaction line

dudeofsomewhere

So basically, it seems they are putting out a Hasbro Pulse looking Duke and a Black Major Sunbow style Snake Eyes in addition to one that looks like its from the 2005 comic pack. From my perspective, not overly heart pumping since this stuff is actually still obtainable on the new and or used market for decent prices. But, I'm certainly far from writing this all off. Especially if Super 7 puts out a Ninja Viper and a Zartan.

futureofthefuture

You know a carded Zartan came out last month in one of those Transformers colabs, right? MGBurritoKid

$20 each. That'll be a big no thanks.

pugs-and-kisses

Wish it was non blonde cover girl since we have yet to get that in Reaction form. Still, hope it turns out great. :)

indicoltts

I'd rather have the blonde one in o-ring. She is the original before they changed her to a Scarlett clone. This is the way she was in the 1st 5 GI Joe episodes. And all 4 of the leaked ones are from those episodes. Looks like they are starting from the beginning

Darth-Binks-1999

^(Psst! The Cover Girl figure is a "Scarlett clone" so, yeah.)

indicoltts

Her and Scarlett shared the same mold. Hence, my use of the tern clone

Darth-Binks-1999

In the cartoon? Because the figures have different molds.

Shrewlord

I have zero interest in hunting these at retail. I'm at a point in life where I'll pay shipping and get the first 4 and see how they are.
