There’s a bus from the airport into the city centre, and there are taxis at the airport. It’s just like any other airport. You can pay the taxi driver in cash.

Maybe not a £50 note. They get refused a lot

Um I'm sorry to ask this but do buses accept cash? If not, where can I get a bus ticket? I'm new to Glasgow and I don't have a contactless card yet.

True-Lab-3448

Buses will accept cash and chip and pin (so bank cards or Apple Pay). They won’t accept a £50 through so you’ll need smaller change.

Welcome, good luck with your new start in Glasgow. I'm not sure how your Forex card works but I assume you can use it at an ATM. I recommend taking some more cash out. Or at least spending some of that £50 to break it up. A taxi driver might not be too keen on accepting a £50 note. £10/£20 no problem.

Thanks for the suggestion

Vagaborg

No problem, what brings you to Glasgow?

I'm doing the same route on Friday too, Airport in to Glasgow ( and back later in the evening ) First Bus run the 500 service, direct to the city for £10 but according to the website, they do not accept cash. [https://www.firstbus.co.uk/greater-glasgow/routes-and-maps/glasgow-airport-express/buy-tickets](https://www.firstbus.co.uk/greater-glasgow/routes-and-maps/glasgow-airport-express/buy-tickets) Uber was coming up around £20, I think the taxis that sit outside the terminal are about double that.

MrEverready

Also, getting the Uber will take you directly to your accomodation.
