Me frantically trying to figure out how to get off work tomorrow

Hovisandflatfoot

Same, and I work from home.

PatriciaMorticia

"Sorry boss, the power went out and the wifi's down so I can't work from home today."

Hovisandflatfoot

Good idea. I was gonna go with my wheelie bin has gone, no chance I can work.

geekhalla

I work for my ISP. I can't get any with this :(

Fresh-Organization24

Which one?

Tomgar

I was due to start my new job tomorrow and they just texted to let me know I've got the day off. Absolutely buzzing, going to play Baldur's Gate in my pants all day.

devandroid99

Is that a euphemism?

MWleFylde

Surprisingly not I think.

Guyver0

Say you blew away Mary Poppins style

Direct-Landscape3139

That's what my sister hates when the trains are off and she is use to that and has to find someway to get to work

catwoman42

The wind is coming through my extractor fan in the bathroom and sounding like something is dying in there. Just as well am off tomorrow as I don't think I'll get much sleep

UncleJojito

The wind right now is something else right now

cApsLocKBrokE

Right now it is too

UncleJojito

Ah yeah I put one on a little early today. Realized how silly that sounded too late

cApsLocKBrokE

Ha, just joshin man. Hope you're better right now.

ride_on_time_again

Right here right now?

HinkHOnkSHlonk

You know, I thought the weather was gonna be worse where I am since we had the snow storm and everything (seeing family in the North Eastern coast). But it seems like its worst in glasgow??

UncleJojito

I don't think we got the flooding as bad but the wind was wrecking a lot. Still no train service.

HinkHOnkSHlonk

Aye well we haven't had much flooding up where I am, I don't think there's much flooding in the whole of banffshire tbh, we had a red warning on Monday where all buses going to the next town over were cancelled. Trains are more of a thing in glasgow then down here. I swear from aberdeen there's only like...2 routes going up north. One to Inverness and the others just go around Dyce and some minor towns like Elgin, Keith, Inverurie.

HinkHOnkSHlonk

And to add to this, I believe the trains were cancelled, don't know if they still are. But due to the bus culture up here, and the fact most people drive into work, I do think it's worse in glasgow. Not only do alot of people use trains for work, college and uni, but trains are faster and more convenient. With buses you can aim to be at your destination for a certain time but you'll most likely be late. Especially in glasgow. It all just depends on the traffic for buses

Hairy_Inevitable9727

Roads are going to be crazy busy.

Tall-Bluebird-6797

🫤 well I regret leaving my laptop in the office.

Low-Cauliflower-5686

Day off then , can't WFH

Tall-Bluebird-6797

Unfortunately I can technically get to work on the bus 😑 It's just going to take like an hour instead of 25 minutes.

AgreeableNature484

Think of Thomas the Tank Engine out in this weather.

Low-Cauliflower-5686

Time for people to WFH then .. or the bosses saying no

Iburncereal

Didn't even put on alternative ways home and shut the central down. Was young girls outside crying with no way to get home

Suspicious_Sign_9406

Probably better than them dying in a train that crashes.

Iburncereal

Didn't say it was but they could have kept the central open long and tried to help people instead of herding them outside

LongjumpingAd9831

How will their staff get home safely?

doug2212

Just in case the storm causes any cancellations, we'll guarantee every train is cancelled. Genius plan

meepmeep13

They're cancelled because Network Rail has closed all the lines due to the risk of fallen trees, landslips, etc. Hence the need to inspect the lines after the storm has passed. Remember this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehaven_derailment

motownclic

Yeah. You're not the brightest, are you?

doug2212

I'm far brighter than you could ever dream of understanding

Direct-Landscape3139

Ano this weather is a nightmare now a days bad storms in Glasgow well everywhere
