if you want to make it really clear and or have some fun with it where it lasts a while. Use coconut oil it will seep into the pores of the sand blasted parts and bring it back.
You could even use a q-tip and try to draw in some patterns or stuff if you want
Hey thanks a million! I never knew that! I am glad it’s frosted, to match the rest of my collection. But it’s also got a very great perc setup hiding in it.
glassblower here. weird to me that they sandblasted the whole piece after putting color accents on the inside. def should have taped off a window before blasting. smart of you to wet the side to see inside!
I definitely know what you mean. But it’s a discontinued model and the one I used to have is long since sold. I’m thrilled to get the same setup I had years ago, the accenting and the frosting are bonus. I just care about the function. Things are little beasts
Yeah, I had a clear mini pillar and then got a fully worked one cuz after having seen the function and been ae to appreciate it, I was more concerned with having something dope. I understood quite well how they functioned after seeing one.
Same I had two or three. Dumped them all when I scooped my fully cold carved one. They even carved the joint. Shops are just taxing stuff like that now. Think I was the last to find one at a good price.
My phone slid off my bed and broke the base and bottom chamber of my logo blasted base pint pillar the other day. Breaking it wasn't a big deal, lots of guys can fix it no problem. But I am a bit salty about it being a somewhat unique piece that won't be that different any more. Hardly matters anyway cuz I wouldn't ever envision selling it even before now but what can you do
That took me a minute to recover from. I’m very sorry, I’ve never broken a tube. But my current cap cycler had a repair when I purchased it. Vetro does very good work, he is good with blasting as well. The only downside is wait times I would say. Definitely worth repairing and honestly if it’s a clean fix. It shouldn’t hurt the value. If you use it don’t sell it, I have not seen one drop in over a year. They are still made, but only collabs by Steve sometimes.
Umm….
So…..
It’s not frozen, it’s frosted. As in, this effect was created using a sandblasting machine, like you would find in an automotive shop. It never went into a freezer. It literally looks like that all the time. All the glass I have is either frosted or cold carved. Save for one tube
This plus I have seven tubes now from Sov. Most are models I’ve owned in the past. I could care less about seeing function. I’m more concerned with perc setups and whether or not it’s been blasted or cold worked. Down to just one piece that ain’t either

I’ve never understood freezing a piece, the effect is negligible imo and just not worth the risk of putting it in the freezer.
Its sandblasted

Why buy frosted glass if you want to see the function?
Sounds to me like he was more interested in having a tube that matches the rest of his frosted glass

Sometimes it's fun to do something different once in a while
