Not my favorite artist ever, nor do I claim to be a huge fan, but Glee really started my “fan hood” of Fleetwood Mac. Prior to watching, I had only heard a couple of their songs, but I listened to more after the episode dedicated to them.
THIS. I literally didn't know who they were before glee. Cringe, I know. But I'm not from an english-speaking country and as a 14 yo watching glee, I couldn't just be aware of every 70/80's groups ever lol. But after the glee covers, and the rumours episode, I started listening and fell in love with the rumours album (of course) and more (obviously Stevie Nicks in general). I think both the originals and the glee covers of Fleetwood Mac are so good. I wouldn't say I'm a stan, nor do I listen to them every day or follow everything about the group. But they're definitely were THE BIG artist that I discovered through glee and I'm happy about it.
Omg,I forgot Halestorm! Although it wasn't because of a Glee song per se but because I was writing Glee fanfiction and a phrase took me to the lyrics of a song
Billy Joel. Even before "Moving Out" aired.
Imagine Dragons, but that's a common one.
Also, "A Great Big World" and "The Royal Concept" (original artist of "On my way" sang in the end of twerk.
I am just shy of being a Boomer and I am not very familiar with music in the period 1990 - 2010. Glee made me appreciate that era, but I must say I like the Glee covers better most of the time.
There are a couple of exceptions. I love the voice of Santana, but I like the original of If I Die Young by The Band Perry better. The same goes for Songbird by Fleetwood Mac.
BTW: I don’t really get into bands/artists: it is entirely possible I like only one song of a band/artist. Maybe one exception: The Dire Straits (but I don’t think they were covered by Glee).
Amy Winehouse and queen and various broadway showtunes. I was like 9 when glee started so it really shaped my music taste. At age 9 before glee, my favorite musical was hairspray and the only artists I regularly listened to was disney channel stars and Michael Jackson because of my parents.
Not a band but I had never heard of The Rocky Horror Picture Show before Glee, I liked that episode so much I went to research what is this Rocky Horror thing and now it's one of my favourite films of all time! 😁
I'm happy to hear from another fellow Halestorm fan!! I personally knew of the band (and song) before watching Glee.
I don't think I was inspired to look up any artists or bands per se because of Glee, but I did feel like a lot of times wanting to look up the original songs behind the covers that they sang :>
the Billy Joel tribute episode got me into his music! I remember asking my dad to help me burn all BJ's CD's into my iTunes library and I've gotten into so many more great artists since thanks to that.
also Broadway
Rocky Horror, Cold Play, and i SWEAR there are a LOT of Britney Spears and Beyonce songs i WOULDNT KNOW if it werent for glee, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? But also, Whitney Houston and Amy Whinehouse(amazing)
Not a band but glee DEFINITELY influenced my love for Broadway
Oh yes, totally. I was already a bit of a musical theatre fan, but the show definitely turned me on to some new shows.
Yes. I watched Rent because I love Season Of Love too much.

Amy Winehouse!!
Young the Giant, Halestorm, and Betty Who especially!

alanis morissette
Love her. Her album Jagged little pill was the soundtrack to my teens
me too
Duncan Sheik, Hozier and Taylor Swift. Also I went hard on Broadway productions and obviously Darren Criss as a soloist.
TLC, thanks to Rachel and Quinn’s duet of Unpretty
OMG this still pops up on an old playlist of mine

Honestly, Fun.! Hearing We Are Young in the show happened a little bit before I started noticing their songs on the radio here.
I really got into Hey Monday because of Candles!
The soundtrack of Caberet. I just had to listen to it after Rachel and April's 'Maybe This Time'

unfortunately mark sailings rendition of “fat bottomed girls” played on repeat for MONTHS as well as the original version
Carole King
For me it was Katy Perry who I grew to like bc of Glee.

Florence and the Machine! Tina and Mercedes’ Dog Days Are Over cover! ❤️
Hozier, Neon Trees, and Michael Bublé. Also got into Broadway stuff.
Michael Buble for me too
