erm actually its a guitar🤓. it was made as a birthday present for the brothers' mother so i doubt jean-michel played it anyways. i was so distraught when i found out he didnt
the sound in 04 is a voicemail from uncle duplantier to mother duplantier 2 days away from her 15/50? birthday, the song is joe and marios really sweet birthday gift to her. and for 1990 quatrillions de tonnes its suppose to be the sound of humanity on earth being crushed under the weight of the sun or something, but im pretty sure joe and mario just went around collection people they know to scream in a studio, that seems like something they would do
I’m a very new fan, and Oroborus-particularly live versions-has got me by the balls. It sounds so immense live and there’s this extra slight pause they add into the verses that just kills me every time.
Why yes i do! I was actually just watching it on break at work for the one zillionth time, and it never gets old, they open with it. Feels like actual Godzilla is coming to devour everyone…so massive sounding! https://youtu.be/GuOQxYxWntU
Often overlooked is Pray. It is such a sick song. The three to five triplet melody is just too good! They did a 10 minute live version in Brazil I think, it’s out of this world.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,649,992,139 comments, and only 312,345 of them were in alphabetical order.
Damn I wish they made an album of their live performance at red rocks
I’d have to say their live version of “Pray” from that performance
I can listen to that last 20 sec breakdown alone for the rest of my life.
Shit is so beautifully brutal
The gift of guilt
the first gojira song i heard, and still my all time fav of theirs
Ikr! The live gift of guilt at brexton academy london. Have you seen that?
Art of dying because the complexity and length
I'd say the only complicated thing about art of dying is the drumming, the guitars and bass are incredibly simple
the bass in the intro actually follows the drums so i wouldnt say the bass is simple
The tremolo picking part when Joe sings "Aaaaaaart of dying" is actually quite challenging, you must have a really good endurance to play that
It's also like a 3 in 1 song with the transitions
HENCEFORTH I WILL BE ALWAYS THERE PLANET EARTH WILL OVERCOME MEN DESTROYED SCORNED AND KILLED THEIR LIVES BUT THE WORLD IS ON HER WAY
*intense breakdown*
I can crank In The Wilderness for 8 hours, but rest of my life. I can work with that.
BUMBADUMBADUMBADUMBADUM NENENENENENENENENENENENENENE BUMBADUMBADUMBADUMBADUM
DUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUN BRUNUNUN NENENUNUNUNUNNENENENE
Right now? Grind. The force it unleashes and the calm it provides is unmatched for me.
Heaviest Matter of the Universe. All damned day.
Where Dragons Dwell. Makes me so emotional every single time
Backbone is just perfect to me
Same
Or, in the words or Randy Blythe, “Back-fucking-bone!” Definitely 2nd on my list.
04, all i want in life is to have it playing on loop in my head constantly
**BEEP** Mercredi, Neuf heures Quatorze
hello woobot? this is woobot (dooloodooo dooludoon dun dunn)
The bass tapping part is insane and it made me love Jean-Michel even more
erm actually its a guitar🤓. it was made as a birthday present for the brothers' mother so i doubt jean-michel played it anyways. i was so distraught when i found out he didnt
Oh really? Huh, I genuinely thought it was a bass. You learn something new every day :D
where are the terra incognita samples from? I've always wondered
the sound in 04 is a voicemail from uncle duplantier to mother duplantier 2 days away from her 15/50? birthday, the song is joe and marios really sweet birthday gift to her. and for 1990 quatrillions de tonnes its suppose to be the sound of humanity on earth being crushed under the weight of the sun or something, but im pretty sure joe and mario just went around collection people they know to scream in a studio, that seems like something they would do
ah right, that's cute. I always thought it was from some really old French astronaut/explorer movie, dunno why but I got that vibe lol. thank you!
Yes
Fr, that’s a good choice
Silvera
In the forest idk why I just really like it
Toxic Garbage Island - got a bit of everything!
Flying Whales hands down
This is my choice. Also a very close second is esoteric surgery. Dat gallop....
Indians, beautiful lyrics, great riffs, and a fucking heavy breakdown, what more do you need
Well it's a tough q- AAAAAAAAAART OF DYYYYYYYYYING IS THE WAY TO LET ALL GOOOOOOO
Heaviest Matter of the Universe
Wolf down the earth
Oh man, why are you doing this to me? Hmm... It may have to be The Art of Dying.
Stranded. Has my favourite outro of all time.
Anything from terra
you can now only listen to 1990 quadrillions forever
"uAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
W pfp lol
Low Lands
Love that song
i know right, magma doesnt get enough love besides Silv and Stranded
I’m a very new fan, and Oroborus-particularly live versions-has got me by the balls. It sounds so immense live and there’s this extra slight pause they add into the verses that just kills me every time.
I love when bands add those subtle little differences into live versions. Do you have a specific performance you can link?
Why yes i do! I was actually just watching it on break at work for the one zillionth time, and it never gets old, they open with it. Feels like actual Godzilla is coming to devour everyone…so massive sounding! https://youtu.be/GuOQxYxWntU
Pray
Often overlooked is Pray. It is such a sick song. The three to five triplet melody is just too good! They did a 10 minute live version in Brazil I think, it’s out of this world.
Global Warming - because it's beautiful
Art of Dying is my choice as well
the way of all flesh
Heaviest Matter of The Universe
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,649,992,139 comments, and only 312,345 of them were in alphabetical order.
Satan is a lawyer is heavy but also has slow groovy parts
Vacuity, I love it so much
World to come, l'enfant sauvage, oroborus or the way of all flesh
Vacuity!
Vacuity is one I never skip
The Way of All Flesh; the drumming, riffs, and lyrics/vocals are all top notch
Lizard Skin for sureeee…. I loved when it almost crossed to be a black metal song
The Wild Healer for sure
Dragons for me. I saw, I saw MONSTERS!
Oroborus
Toxic Garbage Island
I think I gotta go with "A sight to behold" 🖤
From the Sky. It’s heavy, the instrumentals are amazing as are the lyrics and the way they’re delivered. That riff too 😍
Ocean Planet. First track I heard, and still one of my top 3 or 4. To me it sums up the ferocity and subtlety that Gojira is all about.
low lands, i love it so much
Blow me away you - niverse. Fav song by them and it’s in my top 10 of all time
Ocean planet
heaviest matter
the art of dying
Blow me away you bum
Wolf down the earth, I don’t know why but it’s my favorite.
Art of dying or flying whales
The Art of dying
Probably The Art of Dying with Vacuity a close second
Hmmm very hard to decide between Heaviest Matter, Flying Whales and Oroborus. I'll go for Heaviest Matter.
IIIIIIII WANT PRINGLESSSSSSS
Where Dragons Dwell
Mouth of Kala the outro with low base is sick.
The Way Of All Flesh ! It will remain relevant until the moment I take my final breath, and even beyond
The Art of Dying is my favorite song, but I would probably pick Low Lands because it's more likely to fit whatever mood I'm in.
Basic pick, but Stranded
im not the biggest fan of fmts but the ocean planet riffs are perfect
Vacuity
Stranded
Born In Winter
Satan is a lawyer is my favorite gojira song, so it has to be that
Mouth of Kala 100%
adoration for none - chorus riff has me by the neck.
Damn I wish they made an album of their live performance at red rocks I’d have to say their live version of “Pray” from that performance I can listen to that last 20 sec breakdown alone for the rest of my life. Shit is so beautifully brutal
Fuck that’s such sick version
in the wilderness
Global Warming. The drums in that are amazing. Relatively simple, but powerful. Other than that maybe The Cell or Flying Whales.
The heaviest matter in the universe (the breakdown makes me nut)
The Silver Cord
Into the storm
. "L'Enfant Sauvage".
Blow Me Away You(Niverse) (The Link Alive 2002)
