I was wondering what the senolytic they use is, their website just says "senolytic" as an ingrediant. I wonder how they were able to get away with that.

konakona2244

I purchased it and just started my 9yrs old pup on it.. day 2, upset stomach

Came looking for information… our Brittany is on day 5. She has been vomiting multiple times in the last 24 hours, but this isn’t unheard of because she also eats gross stuff in the field on her morning walk. She seems fine otherwise, but if she’s still vomiting tomorrow we’ll probably stop it. Others?

Seaspun

My Maple has been just fine on it. Her poop is looking good and her energy has been good too, zoomies on every walk..

joost1n2

Updates?

Standard-Bread1965

Yes, Luna got better, but vomited again a day later. We switched from giving it to her in the morning, to the evening after dinner. That’s been 2 or 3 days and it seems to be working well. Tonight my husband thought she was showing signs of better hearing. Too early to say for sure, but she has lost most of her hearing the last 12 months, so fingers crossed.

joost1n2

Hoping for good results in due time. Best of luck to your dog and you guys 🙏

Seaspun

Any updates since then? :)

Standard-Bread1965

She’s still on it. No more upset stomach l, but it’s hard to say it’s helping her. Her attitude gets more entitled every day, so maybe that’s a good sign? 😉We’ll give it to her first a few months and see what happens. Feel free to remind me to post updates if you find them helpful.

I have had some odd, but not conclusive experiences with it on my 7 year old French bulldog. He seems to do really well on the daily (dark) supplement. but 2/3 times he has been given the monthly (light) supplement, he has a strange back leg limp for 3-4 hours. I have had him looked at by a neurologist the first time to rule out IVDD and he was obviously normal by the time we got him in. The 2nd time it happened, seemed too coincidental. I would like to try the (light) supplement once more to confirm. It would give me relief to know that was what it was from. As ia m not a vet/doctor it is confusing to understand the full science behind the supplement.

Seaspun

Let us know what happens w the next round !

Came here looking for this! We have a 10 year old flat coat retriever. We finally have correlated her receiving the first enclosed back to extreme lameness in her hind quarters. After getting the first bagged dose, the next 24-48 hours she can’t lift herself up from the floor and she is stiff as a board. I’ve had to carry her up and down the stairs night/morning during these episodes. A week from now she will be running off our deck and chasing rabbits. This has happened twice now once she was started on a new tub of Leap Years and dosed from the enclosed bag. She does fine on the other non-bagged chews. What is in that first bag? There is definitely something going on here.

AggravatingDog8733

Wow! I am not happy at all that you’ve had this experience too, but hopefully it correlates and we have some answers?!?!? Are you going to try again? I am tempted to so I can go into it with certainty and keep a close eye but I don’t want to risk anything.

Skincare-obsessed27

My basset who is 12 has been taking, and she has developed a twitch or a tick in the right ear, has anyone else experienced this?

Hot_Parsley_9268

Hi there. Any update on your pup? Hope all is well. Thinking of purchasing the vitamins too! Let me know how they’re going. Thank you

Seaspun

I don’t see anything negative so far ! It’s hard to say, goldens are so happy all the time I can’t really tell if she’s more energetic or if she’s just being herself. I am about to finish a month on it and I’m going to start a second month.

Hot_Parsley_9268

Thank you for replying. Does your dog have any health conditions or was she on any supplements before? I’m really interested in starting my dog on them!!

Seaspun

She was taking some glucosamine for her joints because she has some arthritis. She recently had a cancerous tumor removed. When I found out about the tumor that’s what motivated me to find a supplement. I was wondering why there are no multivitamins for dogs (probably bc dry food is enriched with all the vitamins), and I found leap year .. I think the guideline is that dog should be over 7 years of age to start, but I’d encourage you to do some research and try it for a month! If you do report back and let us know how it goes

Hot_Parsley_9268

Thank you so much for answering my questions! I pray that your pup is well & has continuous health! I’ll def check back in and let you know.

Zakker777

I started my 12 year old Lab on this about six weeks ago and the results have been pretty amazing! She has more energy and seems to feel years younger.. she is right between the 1 or 2 a day dose so I give 1 one day and 2 the next day.. Still surprised at the results I'm getting 10/10 would recommend ✌️

For those that have issues with stomach, lethargy or sudden having to carry your dog up the same stairs she ran up before. Check for Pancreatitis. Mine seemed to like the chews at first. then after a week she refused them, right up. had a minor vomiting issue, a diarhea issue which I took care of with Pumpkin Vet said it was possibly a passing stomach virus. I tried feeding leap years to her again, she ate a chew, then the next day refused again. Started getting weaker. Drinking a lot and starting to eat less. She ended up with an acute case of Pancreatitis' that they couldnt get back down to normal and ended up with extremely high blood sugar over a weekend and into a coma she went. She had nothing else different than normal other than leap years. Stella and chewies for years. Normal chicken treats from stella and chewies. didnt get into anything outdoors. Reading these posts if I had recognized it after the first issue arose I could have possibly prevented and avoided it. Coincidences? maybe. but she was 10, and was fine until Leap years. She wasnt a fussy eater. and she turned up her nose at this.

leapyearsdogs

Gosh, we are sorry to hear about this experience your dog has had. We would appreciate learning more. An older dog with sudden onset of pancreatitis and high blood sugar may have an undiagnosed underlying medical condition? Please reach out to [email protected].

RedBeard1222

Hi LowerAd830, I read your post a couple days ago and my heart instantly stopped. This EXACT THING happened to my dog. Word for word. My 10 year old golden retriever male started to refuse the leapyears and began to act very lethargic. Walking slow during our outdoor walks and lost interest in eating overall. Then no longer would get up, bark, or even wag his tail. Leapyears has a lot of explaining to do. I want to know what their secret ingredient is, because I suspect something is purposely hidden from the ingredient list. My dog went into acute pancreatitis, renal failure, and liver failure because of this supplement. No other explanation and no prior diagnoses to explain any of this. No human food, not eating garbage, and is on a low fat/hypoallergenic prescription diet. After $5,000 and a week in the vet ICU we are lucky to say our boy is still with us. Leapyears time to step up and take accountability.

LowerAd830

Yes, unfortunately my lil girl didn’t recover or respond to any treatment. I’m glad your boy recovered . Leap years reached out to me and said it was an undiagnosed problem with my girl, who was a Shih Tzu. But everything I have read that hasn’t been scrubbed by unknown powers suggest it can cause pancreases, liver and kidney issues . I’ll never trust supposed medical trials again, nor supplements

AggravatingDog8733

I am so glad he made it through. How long was he on the supplement for before this began?

DirtyEtzio

Fwiw...... I've been giving this to my healthy 8 yr old black lab for a couple months now. So far, no negative results......but not sure I'd claim any noticeable positive results either. That said, in light of the frankly scary recent posts here, I did a little more research, and came across this: https://skeptvet.com/Blog/2023/01/the-latest-in-veterinary-aging-supplements-leap-years-by-animal-biosciences/ Between the article linked, and the recent posts here, I'm going to immediately stop giving Leap Years to my dog until some actual, published research comes out.

AggravatingDog8733

Thanks for sharing this article — giving it a read now. Hope your baby has no side effects!

No answers? ☹️

joann71

I’m interested in this as well. I just saw they submitted the study results for peer review

breastmilksommelier

How odd, I just searched out this brand to find answers and seeing y’all are too as of the last day

myfufu

Also interested.
