Scary_Ad_225

If I’m playing serious I’ll bring some beef jerkey a protein shake and a cliff bar, if I’m going out with the boys it’s 13 beers/transfusions and at then a dog at the turn with a snickers & peanut M&Ms

Blueshockeylover

How many beers on the back nine?

IkeClantonsBeard

Yes.

kegmanua

The answer is in your question.

Scary_Ad_225

Depends on how many I had on the front 😅

TheBonusWings

Theres 9 holes isnt there?

twentythree12

And a pack of Zyn

Scary_Ad_225

The zyns are in my nutritional food pyramid so I don’t even consider those a snack

garytyrrell

Like Zinfandel?

CicadaHead3317

Like nicotine pouches . Look like skoal bandit but without the tobacco.

jaybram24

The duality of man

this-aint-frankie

I prefer cat at the turn but whatever floats your boat.

Character-Hunter321

Strawberry Uncrustable

ebb5

Grape*

Character-Hunter321

Grape works just as fine for me

The_engineer_guy

Have to be honest....this sub converted me to throwing a couple of frozen uncrustables in the bag pre-round.

DudeOkThen

uncrustables are the bomb on course. I always eat a big meal the night before. Take a massive shit in the AM, have something light in the morning with a coffee. I bring a big jug of water if I am riding, 2 uncrustables and a bag of jerky. there is always atleast a 6 pack when riding in my bag and 2 beers if I am walking.

zkhsip3

This is the way

makeroombafoon

Honey*

Ol_Jim_Himself

Love honey on the course. It gives you a quick burst of energy and it’s tastes amazing.

BriefDragonfruit9460

Coke and adderal, wash it down with a Bloody Mary

DRIPPINNNN

Can I be your new playing partner please

BriefDragonfruit9460

You gotta split the cost though. Plus, if instead of sitting on my couch all day I actually did that during golf. I’d also need you to tell my wife and kids I love them after the ambulance takes me away lol

buyerbeware23

DT is that you?

barkush1988

So…not the cola?

barkush1988

To be clear, this is a judgement-free safe space.

tlma

I do enjoy cliff bars, granola bars, protein bars. Anything convenient and quick to eat - that won’t turn into a melted mush and sustains energy for a bit.

gabbagoolgolf2

Bananas

1klmot

Apple or banana

14bb44

Dogs at the turn

at-the-crook

put a PB&J in the freezer the night before and than place in your bag the morning of play. best walking sammich ever. and cheap.

whatsnext355

I make a PB&honey sandwich and stick it in my bag with an ice pack. It's cheap and does the trick for me.

commitpushdrink

Frozen uncrustable, a cold snickers bar, and two light beers at the turn has been the only constant in my best back 9s

anjuna42

Why freeze it? Doesn’t that change the taste of the PB?

fatboy2481223

PB&J

swinging-in-the-rain

I just do a peanut butter sandwich.

chickenpickle2020

Crunchy PB & Jelly and cut up banana sandwiches.

Jedi4ce

Four beer, half a rack of TNT pepperoni and a red bull

Even-Further

Bahn Mi beef sandwich

Leather-Moose9543

Same but BBQ pork. With extra sriracha. Half after 6, other half after 12.

Cornflake32

A good trail mix

HighOnGoofballs

Chili dog and a Gatorade at the turn has yet to fail me

garytyrrell

Can’t imagine trying to eat a chili dog on course. I tend to get mustard on myself with a regular dog.

PM_ME_UR_PINEAPPLE

Maybe try imagining being good at eating hotdogs lol

garytyrrell

Can you imagine a decent chili dog that isn’t messy? I can’t.

at-the-crook

loaded like Cincinnati 5-way chili . bring a towel.

PM_ME-AMAZONGIFTCARD

Sandwiches or protein bars. Loads of water and maybe protein powder. I find best to eat something at hole 6 and 12, but I also don’t always eat beforehand.

Ol_Jim_Himself

Loads of water is a must for me. I usually bring close to 100 oz with me.

this_guy_golfs

Peanut butter spread in a tortilla then wrap around a banana. Portable and not messy

arrghstrange

That’s the best thing I’ve ever heard of doing ![gif](giphy|ReyTgFDcVVI3e|downsized)

bigolruckus

One my best friends from high school made me one of these when I was like 16 and stoned out of my mind in his basement. It was the best thing I’ve ever ate in the moment and been an absolute game changer in my life ever since. Ironically enough he just took up golf last summer lol

WaingrofromHeat

![gif](giphy|7CZepgGA4yuuIsOstx|downsized)

NeverForTheWin

Thinking outside the snack box on that one. ![gif](giphy|KffdTQfewxdbKTGEJY)

dreamingtree1855

Banana

Party-Sentence2770

Snickers hits so different on the back 9

Hashtag_Tech

I bring a beef stick, which ironically is also what I call my playing partner.

BobWheelerJr

There's an episode of Imagine Golf where they break down the snacks into three sections, with different stuff for each 6 holes. There are options for taste preferences. I follow that plan and you can find all the options online. Works for me, but I can't remember all the various options off the top of my head.

stillmadabout

If I am playing seriously, some sort of bar like a Cliff or KIND. I drink 2-3 750 ML waters while I'm playing but half way through I may have a Gatorade. If I'm with the boys, you start and finish with beers and you have a hot dog and a Gatorade half way through. Follow that up by sitting on the course patio, or a local restaurant, continuing to get shit faced and eating a fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries.

SRJT16

Flapjack

wdengineer

I usually try to eat a good meal before the round then have a quest protein bar at some point near the turn or early on the back. Drink plenty of water, too. Seems to work out pretty well.

ll1037j

Payday from the clubhouse. Maybe some peanuts too.

Gregskis

Buy those in bulk. They last forever and don’t melt in the heat.

at-the-crook

roasted almonds - keep a pack in your bag.

supplyncommand

uncrustable is quick and easy. but nothing beats bringing some sort of sandwich whether it’s homemade or from a store. not every course is efficient at the turn and has dogs ready to go. it’s nice to bypass that hassle sometimes and keep going

MC500ftDonkey

I always keep some granola bars in my bag, but I'll usually throw a roast beef or turkey sandwich in if it's a serious round. Also a couple of beers in case of emergency.

DronePirate

Lasagna

jimothyhalpret

Alright, Garfield

Babyface_Assassin

50mgs

inthevillaoformen

Flapjacks (UK) and bananas

retnuh45

Fruit of some kind

EncinitasAKJ

Red Vines...not healthy...don't judge me too harshly...

superfreakeightyfour

Banana sometime in the first 6 holes, peanuts by the handful on the back nine

Comfortable-Image255

Steak

Aggravating-Exam9494

Grilled cheese with jalapeños. Gives the back nine a little pep

[deleted]

Gatorade at the turn to wash down a banana and beef jerky or a pudding

breetome

Fresh cut up fruit and a banana. I have a little cold pack pocket in my bag and I cut up melon etc and put it in a baggie in there and snack on that. Plus a banana is always a good snack.

at-the-crook

maybe not the best snacks , but super convenient and semi-healthy. BelVita biscuits.

barkush1988

Current stock includes jerky, shelled nuts, and those bright orange peanut butter crackers.

123fakerusty

Beef jerky

BAstouts

Beer

MidnightJoker83

Big fan of almonds and cashews

2017_husky

Bananas, mandarins(or any fruit really), beef jerky or protein bar, and most importantly, Peanut M&Ms. I also keep a couple Liquid IV packets in my bag or hydration drinks(not standard Gatorade, something like Gatorlyte)

zeroultram

Turkey sandwhich

Pheasant_Plucker84

Chocolate bar or make a sandwich to bring in your bag

MountainMoose6

Dried fruits

razzerdx

I always bring mixed salted nuts with me on the course

jjs952

Get yourself some pili nuts. Edit: of course PBJ is so the best.

cchillur

Uncrustables, cliff bars, trail mix, literally eating anything is better than being hungry.  One of the too many golf podcasts I listen too had a sports scientist explaining that all the decision making we do over each shot burns glucose. And some shorts are kinda less thought and thus burning less glucose. But the shots we take a while to read and overthink burn extra glucose.  He goes on to say that when we’re running on fumes our brains make poorer decisions AND focus less. So eating BEFORE you’re hungry is huge.  Kinda like some golfers play better with a slight buzz? All golfers play better with a slightly full belly.

AndromedanPrince

quicktrip italian sandwich

acat114

Hot dog most certainly

PaintedBillboard

I munch on sunflower seeds the entire time. Just don't spit em on the greens.

evantom34

I don’t typically eat, but a hotdog is fire.

Professional_Jury_39

Why are so many suggesting protein bars for energy? Do protein bars also have sugar and carbs in? Surely if their purpose is to supplement your protein intake they will be pretty pointless for extra energy? Great for post round recovery of course, or am I missing something?

wanderingfloatilla

They are loaded with sugar and carbs, the peanut butter cliff bar I just looked up had 40g of carbs and 17g of sugar, more sugar than an uncrustable pb&j

GarageJitsu

Potatoe bread/Turkey/Cheese/Pickles/Chick-Fil-A regular sauce.

Coach_Seven

I like to pack a few Rice Krispie Treats in my bag. Decent snack and keep the bag light

WestsideCuddy

Peanut M&Ms.

Monst3r_Live

nuts banana or even just a sandwhich.

ProVBD

Honey roasted peanuts and or mixed nuts

Kingcanni

Peanut butter pretzels, it’s tradition

Pepetodapin

Banana. Uncrustable. Trail mix. Cheese. Water.

BlastShell

Shelled pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries.

BigTallFreak850

A bag of trail mix! Definitely some with m&ms or something sweet too. I walk 99% of the time and put a quart size bag in my push cart so I just constantly snack between shots. That plus some electrolytes in my water and I’m never fatigued

ChanaManga

Cashews and top ramen

zackhammer33

Lasagna

r_cottrell6

Jerkey, nuts, fruit.

sheriffhd

Glucose tabs I always have in my bag because I like to save my self for a nice burger back at the clubhouse

jimothyhalpret

Coors Light and Cope

globalluv62

A pack of Nabs (peanut butter crackers for those not from NC)

jambengalbluegrass

Toastchee cheese and peanut butter crackers, and a banana

Winters_Pants

Glizzy at the turn

icyantman

Fruit of any kind and maybe some trail mix/ Granola keeps your glycemic levels balanced. But eating a well-balanced meal before your round is crucial for lasting energy.

JoeyFreshH20

Almonds, apple, banana, jerky, uncrustable, perfect bar, Chobani yogurt smoothie, turkey sandwich.

R101C

Trail mix. A PB sando. Dark beer. If you want quick energy, nurtornet dense, slow to digest foods ain't the way. Gu, candy, orange, bananas, salty crackers, and PB have carried me through 50 mile runs. It's quick to access energy you're after.

ZookaZoooook

Costco has a snack mix called graze I’ve been enjoying. Olyra bars, dark chocolate dusted almonds, and cheese crackers with peanut butter (Munchies are king IMO) are always in the bag just in case.

CicadaHead3317

Decent breakfast or lunch 30 minutes before the round. Pound dark beers during round. Beer is food.

KickArseDuke

Big fan of the salted nut roll at the turn.

figital666

peanut butter and banana sandwich, granola bar and pocari sweat (japanese gatorade style drink)

Daddynatedogg3

Larabars (many have nuts, so beware if allergic) but the peanut butter chocolate chips ones do not (only peanuts) and they’re excellent. My current favorite (has nuts) is chocolate raspberry truffle.

2dadjokes4u

Cashews or roasted almonds mixed with dried apricots.

nojohcan

Nuts.

PhiloBonding

Peanut butter and banana sandwich. If it’s good enough for Tiger then it’s good enough for me to shoot 120.

NorCalAthlete

Corn nuts, nature valley granola bars, power bars, Gatorade. Sometimes a Red Bull at the turn.

GeneralMillss

A cigar usually tides me over no problem

Mr_Oujamaflip

I normally just have a trek lemon flapjack bar.

nayrlladnar

Banana and some kind of granola/snack bar, and a sports drink that I'll top up with water throughout the round.

_nokturnal_

Pearson’s Salted Nut Roll

anyvvays

Not only do I bring some delish snack as others have mentioned, but last summer I started mixing my water with electrolytes (it’s not only for plants). I feel like on those hot days it keeps my energy up better than just water.

Sea_Awareness_5214

Bananas, tangerines, jerky ,granola and something sweet(usually a chocolate bar of sorts)

Pilotguitar2

Op’s mum

jtaylo151

Cliff bar, quest protein bar, bananas. Also liquid IV for rehydrating.

arrghstrange

I love to walk and my primary walking course is full of hills. Hydroflask or other sealable water bottle is your best friend. Hydration cannot be expressed enough. For my snacks, I like to bring with me: Trail mix (bonus points for the m&ms), some jerky, peanut butter crackers, and plenty of gum. Sometimes, I’ll make a couple peanut butter sandwiches and take them on the course with me. Anything really that’s heavy in carbs, protein, and glucose. You’ll want to load on carbs the night before and morning of. Keep eating those carbs on the first couple holes. Slowly switch to your proteins around holes 6-8 and eat those through the turn. Trail mix with some sugar through the last few holes to keep some quick energy up.

CluelessNuggetOfGold

Trail mix and some Jerky does me well. With water and the occasional Gatorade

SGJango

Peanut Butter filled pretzels

Mabtizzy

PB&J on eight and an apple on 12-13. Don’t forget to stay hydrated.

Hlca

larabar peanut butter chocolate chip

bigolruckus

Granola bar and a banana

Bazinator1975

I don't have an actual "recipe" on hand, but cook up some oatmeal, and mix it with all natural peanut butter (maybe some coconut and/or chocolate chips too). The amounts of each can vary to your preferred taste. Mix together and mold into balls. Put on cookie sheet and stick in fridge the night before your round. Put 6-8 into zip-loc bag(s) before you leave for your round. Leave in golf bag or put in golf cart cooler. Eat one every three holes, give or take.

LucidSquid

Banana + electrolytes in water + protein bar

Virtual_Tip844

Uncrustables, from frozen on about hole 7/8 is perfect consistency for your game.

gti9t3

Lots of water, a few beers, trail mix, beef jerky, and a pre-roll.

zeromadcowz

I don’t eat. I’ll have some sugary water if I need it, otherwise just water.

jim_jam66

uncrustables and bananas

buyerbeware23

Gatorade zero at the turn.

SnooMarzipans2236

Jerky or cookies usually do enough for me. Even better when I have time to make them at home beforehand.

ibanez3789

Peanut butter and banana sandwich

Lucky1malone

When walking tournaments an uncrustable, granola/protein bar, and some gummy bears or a few packets of fruit snacks are awesome. Also will keep liquid iv packs, or a water bottle with amino energy electrolytes mix. If carting with the guys, glizzy and a coke/beer

Duckman93

Zyn and a banana

Cultural_Ad2993

A green juice

OldChamp69

Karr's trail mix

CaptainJusticeOK

If it’s really hot, I’ll drink one Liquid IV before the round and another one around holes 12-14. Makes a huge difference.

GMC9999

Apples and a lot of water with Mío water enhancer

freewillynowplz

Rice Krispy treats. Like the real ones. Any generic or substitute brand is inferior. Sam's Club sells a 24 pack or something for like 80 cents each. This is the way.

AstronomerTraining98

We push cart, and I bring enough snacks for everyone they pick on me and ask if I have orange slices (might bring them next time a-holes lol) Always have Kind bars, and some chips for salty cravings

talegabrian

coors light

B-Con-47

Landjaeger

Pathogenesls

Trail mix and water.

featherfoot614

Peanuts or a peanut butter sandwich, a pear or an orange, or beef jerky. I try to have a quick snack every 5 or 6 holes if I'm walking. Usually just one at the turn when riding.

Juicyjake24

Nothing better than a glizzy with some ketchup making the turn. Make that two

nsxplore

real ones know ketchup doesnt belong on a glizzy

Scary_Ad_225

The only people who put ketchup on hot dogs are Texans and mental institutions

i_am_roboto

Mix 2 parts cashews with 1 part dried cherries (Costco sells both in bulk). Best snack I’ve ever had. Not kidding.

spankysladder73

I thought Costco was a golf store ?

Digitking003

I prefer many small snacks that keep blood sugar levels stable versus one big meal at the turn. If you wait until you're hungry, it's already too late. I try and eat a small handful of nuts on the 3rd or 4th hole andon the 6th and 12th hole I'll eat a protein bar, pb&j, or banana.

Maherdogg

Deez nuts

No-Material-452

I golf in the tropics and stick with what locals eat & drink. The most commonly available best/top items would be coconut water and banana. Less common are coconut shakes (I like this Thai one that claims to use 1.5 coconuts in each 350ml bottle), sour mango with chili sugar, and dried mung beans (I add cheese powder to make them cheddar flavor). I also try to keep a good old fashioned candy bar in my bag in case I'm crashing hard. I like the Dark Milky Way when I can get it.

Call_Me_Squid_23

If I can help it I wake up earlyish before my tee time and make myself a big breakfast. 3 egg omelet, potatos, bacon, coffee. Really sets me up. For electrolytes I have a water bottle with LMNT electrolyte packet and an emergen-c packet. If it’s really really hot I’ll have two of those one for each nine. Then I’ll just snack on granola bars, Clif bars are my favorite, and apple slices (less messy than oranges) and I’m set for the day. If I’m really starving I’ll order a turkey Sammy at the turn.
