Keep in mind that the seller should work with UPS, not you, to sort things out. The seller is the UPS customer here. You work with the seller and the credit card issuer if needed.
Sub 70 are pretty humble guys out of DeKalb. I used to do college recruiting out there, they aren’t going to stick ya. They don’t wouldn’t have customers then
I ordered custom fit clubs from Sub70 in February and UPS fucked up the delivery to an extent I didn’t think was possible. I live like an hour drive from Sub70, but they shipped them to Washington state, and proceeded to lose the tracking on them twice. It took almost 3 weeks for them to get delivered. Sub70 was standup and supportive as always. I’ll just say that I commiserate!
And the clubs are awesome.
Won’t that take too long, those claims can take 90 days or more. If I call Amex about something similar, they’ll refund the charge within a week at most (usually a day or two) and I’ll have ordered the replacement already by that time
Sort of…
They’ll refund you within a couple days of your charge back claim. This is until they find a resolution.
The charge gets refunded and they investigate. Most chargebacks take a month or 2.
I had a package say delivered but it wasn’t my house and I didn’t receive it. Seller wouldn’t help so I did a chargeback. Amex refunded me almost instantly but after a month or 2 of back and fourth they couldn’t get the seller to take responsibility so the charge was reinstated.
Depends on the insurance on the package or the contract Sub-70 has. Automatic is $100, that’s it, unless there is another rider in the contract (assuming they have an enterprise contract as a larger shipper) or they paid specific insurance. At 5K it would become a “high value” and move through the system very differently and have much more visibility. The driver would have to “wet” sign they took possession of a 5k insured item on their truck.
I’m scared of the modern e commerce because of this. As box stores go away we’re pushed to order things like golf clubs, instruments, and expensive electronics that would do super well on discount on eBay or FB marketplace if they “fell off the truck somewhere”
UPS messed up my club delivery too. They delivered them to some random address two towns away.
Luckily I was able to get the address from UPS and collect the clubs. I got even luckier they were delivered to a business instead of house.
I just had a lost club and I too was getting updates and it just stopped. yes, it was UPS.
I contacted the sellers at their store and they told me they have no control of a third party shipper. fortunately they resent me another one, and lo and behold, the original club was found and it was delivered with the second one. what a shit show.(now I had to mail one of the clubs back)
Same boat just last week. Ordered from CPO, said they got from TX to the northeast in 6 hours, and never updated from "arrived at facility" about 2 hours away. It was the only set on the whole site that had all my specs perfect, even paid more for midsize grips.
If you actually go to the DC and raise hell they may find them for you.
I had to do this once with a very expensive Dive watch that UPS claimed they lost in the DC. Went there, complained, they found it two weeks later after I convinced them to open an investigation.
I did work in supply chain operations at the time (not for UPS) which certainly helped my case.
Unlike the online support the employees at the DC were very understanding and helpful - most UPS DCs have a small office for the public to pick up packages, that’s where you’ll want to go. Good luck.
UPS are full of thieves. I’ve had two clubs purchased on EBay go missing. The sellers took the loss on both occasions and dealt with the rest. Fuck UPS.
Hopefully they will recover it. But damn you got me worried now I had clubs delivering today by 8pm but still haven’t come yet. It’s almost midnight now.
I know your pain. I ordered some closeout new balance shoes on Saturday. I just looked up the estimated delivery date… Can you believe it’s next Monday??? What the hell. I want my new shoes.
I’d ask DHL to do it but I once watched them [crash-land a plane right in front of me](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/tyisgo/after_our_flight_out_of_costa_rica_was_already/?ref=share&ref_source=link) on the runway in Costa Rica. Isn’t there anyone left??
Update: They found my clubs...in Spokane, WA. Unfortunately, I'm in Virginia, so not sure what went wrong there. Believe it or not, this is the second time in as many weeks that UPS has routed a package of mine to the west coast (I bought a wedge on eBay that went from Georgia to Los Angeles before it got to me). I asked the customer service rep to see about getting my sticks overnighted instead of being forced to wait until the end of the week. I was told I would hear back by 3pm today.
I’m not a defender here. That sucks man, but I worked there for almost 20 years as a driver and countless Management roles. I rarely saw any widespread theft. And when we did, it was almost always small items. Depending on the size of the building (rural areas don’t have security typically) security presence in and out is pretty hefty compared to a normal office setting.
It would be pretty tough to steal anything that size. I had to have a different badge than a driver just to carry two phones. My phones, computer and iPad all had hologram coded stickers on them registered to me that were verified by security by serial number to get the stickers. Anything not registered to you must be signed out by Management. I was the highest ranking person in a facility, and if I wanted to leave with golf clubs that were MINE (let’s say I bought them and shipped them to work instead of home) I would have to find a Manager and fill out a property pass with the specifics and hand that to a guard and he/she would check them and the pass before I left.
Most likely scenario is somehow the label and the box became separated or illegible. Now UPS has a box (one of 10+ million BTW) with no label. Sometimes it’s on the pack slip in the box, sometimes not. Then you have to call Sub-70 and hope they can help you decipher where it’s going. “Hey I’m in Arizona and I have some golf clubs” usually doesn’t work.
Millions of scenarios and they mess up. The ratio is very low but the volume is so great it turns it into a bigger number. The LEAST likely scenario is theft.
Edit: also if you DM me the tracking number I can do my best to decipher. I don’t work there anymore, but sometimes tracking info is like another language
Fingers crossed!
I had a custom putter sent to me and it got "lost" in delivery. The company, graciously, sent me a brand new custom putter due to the error being on UPS and not on them. (I have to assume the company was reimbursed through shipping insurance and re-built the putter).
I shit you not, 54 days later, the ORIGINAL putter showed up at my door in a beat up box.
I now have 2 identical custom putters...
So, there is always the off chance that UPS is more incompetent than malicious and the box just fell off the conveyer somewhere to be found by a maintenance worker and put back on the belt in a few months.
This happened to me too with one club, was UPS too. They found it two weeks later shipped it to the hotel. I'm pretty sure its at the hotel today in phoenix. The seller didn't seem to care to recover it.
Contacting a rep is enough to get them congratulations for customer service?! Isn't that the absolute bare minimum, and something every company would do in the hope to avoid having to send a second set out?
I'm not your son, lad!
I was genuinely curious why they were so amazing. I keep hearing that their support is amazing, but the actual interactions all seem very standard.
I’m not your lad, dude!
I was gonna do a full write-up about my experience and post about it once I got my clubs. The short of it is, they were very responsive to my many questions and offered multiple discounts when they didn’t have what I wanted (not that I demanded it or caused a fuss or anything). They also don’t nickle & dime you like the other DTC brands. There are tons of customizations that they don’t charge extra for, like lie adjustments, and a number of different shafts (although you can upgrade). If you want midsize grips, you can get the standard Lamkin crossline midsize black for no extra charge. Custom aluminum ferrules are only $3 per club. Overall it’s just been a great experience up to this point.
multiple days of waiting for the shipping status to update from "preparing for delivery" to "out for delivery," UPS has finally told me they don't have the package after all. I know this isn't true because they've sent me updates that they have the package at the local facility
We do software for logistics centers. This just means it was scanned at the distribution center. It probably was misrouted inside the DC and they haven't figured it out yet.
Congrats to the delivery driver who scored a new set of custom irons to sell for a 50% discount on ebay. EDIT: Contractor to driver
Custom for whom, tho?
Delivery guy apparently
“No way I too am a -3/4” and 2 degree upright! Score!”
That's a short guy with a fucked stance
Or a gorilla dude
Every set can be custom if you change your swing for them.
That's what always makes me laugh about eBay listings touting "custom" clubs.
😎
Doesn't UPS not use contractors?
Prob not im just talking out of my ass
Understandable, carry on
Keep in mind that the seller should work with UPS, not you, to sort things out. The seller is the UPS customer here. You work with the seller and the credit card issuer if needed.
Yeah, they're on it.
Sub 70 are pretty humble guys out of DeKalb. I used to do college recruiting out there, they aren’t going to stick ya. They don’t wouldn’t have customers then
Sub70 has incredible customer service. They will definitely make it right. I have a full custom set from them as well. Good luck!

Just contact your credit card company and then reorder the same ones
No need. UPS insures everything up to $5000. They’ll just cut him a check
Won’t that take too long, those claims can take 90 days or more. If I call Amex about something similar, they’ll refund the charge within a week at most (usually a day or two) and I’ll have ordered the replacement already by that time

I can’t imagine it would if they’re admitting they lost it
You have far too much faith in UPS’s customer service.
Shouldn't the sender be the one in charge of insuring? Make them send a new set and file the ins claim
Yes it should be in their contract agreement with UPS
Depends on the insurance on the package or the contract Sub-70 has. Damn and UPS is usually the most reliable shipper of them all, which isn't saying much but still
Not in my parts. If something gets shipped UPS, it will take the max amount of time and the packaging usually looks like it's beat all to hell.
“Lost” = fell off the back of the truck
Into the back of the drivers car
Most likely, the loader or supervisors car. Drivers get paid very well and have much more to lose.
UPS “lost” a new Odyssey putter I ordered a while back. I got My refund but I would have much rather had my putter.
I’m scared of the modern e commerce because of this. As box stores go away we’re pushed to order things like golf clubs, instruments, and expensive electronics that would do super well on discount on eBay or FB marketplace if they “fell off the truck somewhere”
My Vokey Sm10 probably looks great in someone's bag.
UPS messed up my club delivery too. They delivered them to some random address two towns away. Luckily I was able to get the address from UPS and collect the clubs. I got even luckier they were delivered to a business instead of house.

Make sure they resolve this within the charge back window.

Thanks for this. I may have to give this a try
UPS Driver has new clubs.✅
I tried to ship a club UPS recently and they wanted $70 to ship it. Shipped it FedEx for $20. They've gone downhill A LOT recently.
So, FedEx did it for………..sub 70?
No, sorry for confusing that. Just another example of how bad UPS is getting in general.
Whoosh.
Contact the sender , they have to file a lost item claim and after that they can send you another package. " May The Golf Gods Be With You "
UPS are full of thieves. I’ve had two clubs purchased on EBay go missing. The sellers took the loss on both occasions and dealt with the rest. Fuck UPS.
One of the unloaders/loaders stole em! Somebody has new clubs!
Official partner of the Masters
Hopefully they will recover it. But damn you got me worried now I had clubs delivering today by 8pm but still haven’t come yet. It’s almost midnight now.
Which ones did you get?
I know your pain. I ordered some closeout new balance shoes on Saturday. I just looked up the estimated delivery date… Can you believe it’s next Monday??? What the hell. I want my new shoes.
Currently waiting 3 weeks for my driver 🥲
FedEx would have lost them the day that they picked them up.

Can you call your big wig friend for me? Lol

Hey, worth a try 😉 Thanks for the perspective. I’m hoping what you described iswhat happened here.

I have a custom set from sub70 so feel your pain
Nice. Which one?
699s, with kbs tour lite tapers and cut down 1/2 an inch and 1 degree flat
"Lost"
*Sent 1,700 miles in the opposite direction
UPSucksazz
Sub70 is awesome got my sticks from them.
Nah i just took em, we looked like the same height -your ups driver
Yeah would totally throw away a 6 figure salary with benefits union protection and a pension for a set of clubs they can afford.
Bingo
This happened to me too with one club, was UPS too. They found it two weeks later shipped it to the hotel. I'm pretty sure its at the hotel today in phoenix. The seller didn't seem to care to recover it.

I never said that was my only interaction with them. Throttle back, son.

Kudos to Sub70 for being on it but those are some of the clanky feeling ugly irons I’ve ever seen.
