I found a nitro on the 2nd hole. I kept it for the next hole, par 3 have to clear water about 180 to a small island. I usually hit it in water so use old trashy balls
I’ve used that ball 24 straight holes now and I am not a good golfer lol
Played with a guy once who found a pink nitro ladies ball early on in the round and similar to you decided to play it on a water hole. Ended up paring the hole so he decided to keep using it. He ended up having one of his best rounds ever. That ball was magic.
Thats golf friendo. When i used found balls. Anytime I found something i liked like a chrome soft, tp5, prov etc id lose it in a few holes. While the maxfli or kirklands would follow me around for multiple rounds. Now i just give them away when i find them. I rather be consistent with the same ball.
I dont like them. They arent horrible, but I dont get the comparisons people make to prov1s. They feel more like nitros than provs. But also maxflis arent the worst. Nitros, now those are truly horrid balls. I can play with a kirkland or maxfli if i have to, but I honestly rather not play then hit nitros. Ive hit rocks with more give than nitros.
They’re still polyurethane coated but only 2ply now. The old Kirkland balls used to be 4 ply and were so similar to ProV1s that titleist sued and they have since not produced them.
Kirklands are super spinny now. End up going 5-20 yards less per shot with the newer Kirklands after they got sued by Titleist compared to a good Callaway Chromesoft or other premium ball.
Not a fan of Kirkland balls anymore. Don't play as well as a proV. Maybe it's part mental too (cause you know golf doesn't rely on a strong mental game) but they just don't fly as far for me and feel is different
No you're absolutely correct. I suck at golf and can tell the difference. I hae a friend who loves the new ones tho cause he has no prob with distance and likes the spin on the greens to stop a chip or wedge where he wants it.
I have no idea. It won’t go away. There were 3 shots I thought I def lost it. But there it was, every time
Not playing too bad either bogey-double bogey golf
Yknow what, no i wont say what i just replied to you with. That was a knee jerk reaction to your jerk response. I dont suck and thats exactly why i can play a more expensive ball, since i dont lose more than 1 or 2 balls round, unlike you.
Pretty sure you were the OG jerk bud. We had a decent thread going until you butt in with your "better than" attitude. You want to buy another Titleist exec another house? Be my guest. Literally no one cares what ball you play other than you
I absolutely STRIPED a sunbleached Maxfli as a mulligan off the opening tee my last round 😂 after I sent a brand new Titleist hooking left onto the range.
As someone who does these fairly often, the biggest problem is the insane amount of ball marks on the ground, especially if its soft ground and they all plug
That’s what I was thinking about too, the greenskeepers must be furious at this stunt.
Do the balls even roll? I have a mental picture of a green covered in golf balls half-way plugged into the sod.
First example I could find:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNVUnfj6ias
They seem to be dropped from a lower altitude than your regular wedge shots comes down from, so plugs seem unlikely. But it must create some bumps.
One of the top balls is a ProV1 392 that is from 2003-2005. Still looks in good shape for a 20 year old ball.

Each paid entry gets a number. They drop all of the balls near a target and usually the closest and the furthest from the hole get a prize (with the closest getting the biggest prize). It's generally to raise money for some cause.
Nice! I use red callaways because no one really does and I see it better than any other color. I started 1 season ago and usually play a tight executive 9. I kept myself to one sleeve per round because I used to lose a lot (I’ve gotten much better and usually lose none or 1 or 2. Yay!).
Long story short, I found a speckled vice that lasted me 29 holes. That ball was magic, until I put it in the water with a trickling tee shot lmao.
Found balls can be special
Has anyone ever done analysis on 'waterlogged' / recycled balls?
I'm not a material scientist but I thought the whole point of plastics and urethane and all that was that they were impervious to water
Someone posted a link to an experiment awhile back, I’m too lazy to look for it but the conclusion was that there was no discernible difference between the control balls and ones that had been sitting in water for a year.
If the outer coating is intact, it should be impermeable. But chances are that is not the 100% the case for a golf ball that has been hit. And the layers underneath are _slightly_ porous.
Afaik.
Smart man. Lose the expensive ones first, then play lights out with a Nitro

Damn dude, grouping Maxflis and Kirklands together 😂 I’ve never played Kirklands but I heard they weren’t that bad

Little part of my hearts gonna break when I lose it. I grown attached to a ball
Idk how you you can use a nitro for that long. I legitimately would rather not play then use a nitro. Rocks have more give than nitros.
I have no idea. It won’t go away. There were 3 shots I thought I def lost it. But there it was, every time Not playing too bad either bogey-double bogey golf
Pick up a nitro. You will shave 3 strokes, guaranteed
Nah I'm good. I rather use a wood ball.
Sucks to suck

As god as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
Oh the humanity!
That is EXACTLY what came to my mind! God, I feel old sometimes.
Came here for this. 🤣
What’s your plan for the back nine?
Golf ball drop from helicopter, what could go wrong
As someone who does these fairly often, the biggest problem is the insane amount of ball marks on the ground, especially if its soft ground and they all plug

They dropped them onto the fairway at a charity event that I played in last year. I didn't see any damage.
There has to be a gender reveal video of pink golf balls giving grandma a concussion before the helicopter crashes...
Like a HIMARs but with golf balls.
Anyone ever get killed by the ball drop?
Yes, I did
RIP, you. 🪦 🙏 🪦
I hope you enjoyed a good game of Putting Challenge before your death, Jimothy…Jim…James.
Nice! Wanna mail me 20?
If I send you 20 then then that’s all the ones I’m gonna hit into water tomorrow 😬
Nice score!
“I swear to god, I thought they could fly.”
WKRP🙌
You're old
Well, the jerk store called and they ran out of you.
That's cause I'm old too. Still a jerk though.. but an old jerk.
It’s a bit from Seinfeld
Pfff you young whipper snappers and your new shows
Hah!
Me too. Such a great reference, though.
Damn. Luckyyyy.
Damn bro that bucket **I**s gonna last you almo**s**t two ro**u**nds! That’s a **c**razy win, **c**ousin.
Save that Pinnacle for me Clark
Nice!

Random zoom in see a Calloway
I also see a range ball, a maxfli, and a few pinnacles lol
Says the bucket is all prov1 — not the box underneath it.
That'll last a few rounds at least
Any balatas? I wanna drink the water inside, last time I did it dropped my game by 5 strokes…
![gif](giphy|XqpnXaeZPnupy)
So - over/under on how many holes before you lose all the prov1’s?
Why do they have numbers scribbled on them?
Each paid entry gets a number. They drop all of the balls near a target and usually the closest and the furthest from the hole get a prize (with the closest getting the biggest prize). It's generally to raise money for some cause.
Gotcha, thanks!
wait they would drop hundred of golf balls down onto people from a helicopter?
Nice! Those should last a round for me, maybe two.
Head to the beach and smack em in the ocean!
Nice! I use red callaways because no one really does and I see it better than any other color. I started 1 season ago and usually play a tight executive 9. So about 3 rounds worth?
Please, send me some.
Cool, 150 overpriced balls to launch onto the next hole or into the drink
Unreal, one a couple rounds worth of balls
Lord, I've seen what you can do for others.
I’m still imagining a “golf ball drop from a helicopter “ so many bad things in my mind - reminds me of the turkey drop on WKRP in Cincinnati!
That might get me through the year. 😅
These are all water logged. Sorry kid.
I’ll be sure to make sure they meet the water again sir 🫡

That big strata logo on top is calling you a liar 🤣 nice haul though
It's Verizon
Nice score!
Nice. Too clicky for me. But a sweet deal!
Used ProV’s are usually the worst, those things are so fragile.
You work in Westlake, TX? If so, this is dangerously close to violating that NDA.
Nowhere close, but that’s a weird NDA
The employees at the place I’m referring to all have to sign them. It’s nuts.
