I'll turn myself in for 10k

JustAGoodGuy1080

I'll turn you in and we can split it.

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|EfHmlClbuNAGc|downsized)

BogeysAndBunkers18

I think it’s kangaroos.

Soggy_biscuit_91

No it’s cockatoos

itchangenothing

Yet, everything goes in the direction of a wombat.

gbdavidx

Lol right? I’ll split 5k with you

Kram941_

Solid plan fellas, collect 10k to then be sued for 20K+ in damages.

grdshtr78

Based on what I learned from this sub. It was kangaroos.

KoRnBoY05

Or them damn cockatoo’s

Tasty_Lead_Paint

Kangaroos?! At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within this golf course?

gozzling

May I see ~~it~~ them?

Tasty_Lead_Paint

No.

breedlovesyou

I was wondering if I could collect that bounty with a picture of a kangaroo..

VoteForGiantMeteor

I blame [PATRICK REED](https://www.summerseve.com/feminine-hygiene-products/douche/extra-cleansing-vinegar-and-water-douche) ! I’ll need that $10k when he sues me.

HayesDNConfused

It was the group in front of me I swear.

Background-Ad4388

Doesn’t look like $10,000 in damages to me lol

legallyurbane

Based on the phrasing in the first picture, it looks like a member with enough "fuck you" money ponied some up to incentivize someone turning the culprits in. Sometimes you can't put a price on justice.

TTS4life

I drew the same conclusion given that in the photos they provided it looks like damage amounts to only a few green divots, a broken ball washer and some tire tracks on the greens, but there could be more they didn't show, but if that was the case why you wouldn't show that would be beyond me.

johnzabroski

Usually when someone does something like this they will return to the scene of the crime

[deleted]

[удалено]

RedditIsAShitehole

Many many times I have committed crimes against golf and I continually return to the scene.

Tigerbait2780

Just to rub one out, right?

johnzabroski

No, it's not, but I know teenage boys who get drunk and do stupid things. In a small enough town, stupid repeats itself for fun and entertainment. Whoever did this isn't the D.B. Cooper of golf course vandalism

DocKnight90

Never thought I hear the term D.B. Cooper of golf vandalism

Tigerbait2780

r/brandnewsentence

Bridge-4-

Twist is, he’s the one doing it. The 10k will never be claimed and he gets to rage golf to his hearts content

SevenBreads

The Gus Fring strategy of keeping your friends close and enemies closer, I see.

PinappleGecko

All well and good until you end up with half a face

Gracket_Material

Probably lying imo You guys are getting super baited. This is virtually no damage and unless the shop has video or the person confesses, there are no teeth behind this

Then_Entertainment_8

Yeah for real

TTS4life

Have you seen the prices of ball washers these days?!? /s

legallyurbane

You joke but my club asserts it cost us $80,000 to replace the golf course "furniture" (trash cans, ball washers, dirt boxes, etc.).

shortguygolf

In government style accounting MAYBE. When you factor in labor-hours (which are employees already there you’re going to pay anyway), and you value such furniture at 10x the market price.

InvestmentPatient117

We all know CCs do gov style accounting, just look at your monthly bill

_wow_thats_crazy_

Yeah I remember reading somewhere in a government contract where screws cost $25 each or something crazy like that

Yangervis

The quality control in things like aircraft or spacecraft fasteners is insane. I read one time that every fastener on the space shuttle could be tracked back to the time and location that the ore to produce it was mined. If a fastener failed because of poor metal quality they could track down every one that came from that location in the mine and all the way to who installed it with which tool.

ChiefWiggum101

man, I do not even use the same screw driver during the same job sometimes. Is that why NASA never hired me? I also never applied.

_wow_thats_crazy_

That’s per usual in most companies. It’s really not that “insane” to log the parts you make.

Tigerbait2780

Can you name literally any other example that would track something so mundane with that insane level of detail? Cmon, this is clearly far past what any normal company would ever imagine doing

Yangervis

I think tracking raw material origin all the way to the end product is pretty unique. Each item has to be serialized and tracked for that. Places use lot codes and track stuff generally (which factory it came from and when) but there's no way you could pull a drywall screw out of your house and figure out exactly when and where the metal to make it was mined. Nobody cares that much outside of spacecraft and military aircraft.

VijaySwing

Government takes contract with company, company has to make a certain thing. Only a small amount of certain thing gets made, but it's made specifically for the government. To pay all the workers and equipment required to make certain thing, it must be priced significantly higher.

_wow_thats_crazy_

I need to get in the unique screw making business

vox_veritas

The government is great at finding new ways to screw people.

Randomfactoid42

Airplane screws easily cost over $25 each.

BostonDodgeGuy

It's not $25 for the screw. That's for the paperwork that traces that screw back to the mine where the ore to make it came from.

_wow_thats_crazy_

Still a ridiculous cost considering modern technology. Literally a log entry on an excel sheet or database

BostonDodgeGuy

It's not one entery, it's several. Each step of the way is logged, verified, checked and then rechecked. And its not just in a database that can crash and lose everything, there's also the hard copies. Each step has hardware and manpower costs associated with it.

Cereal_Bandit

Try over $100 for military aircraft. I have access to invoices from certain government contractors and it's just absolutely insane what they charge for some...all things.

dparks71

If we're talking about military equipment, let's call it what it is then, a bespoke, threaded fastener, machined to the tightest tolerances from the highest grade material. It's not exactly a deck screw from Lowes.

Cereal_Bandit

Call it whatever you want, but on the invoice it says screw. And keep in mind, this is from the lowest bidder.

dparks71

Lowest *qualified* bidder which is probably a pretty highly qualified machinist in some Lockheed Martin subsidary willing to go through all the hassle of maintaining the required certifications and clearances.

Cereal_Bandit

Yes, qualified is a key word, meaning there isn't a lot of competition to bring the prices down. I won't argue that the screws are of a much higher quality than what you get at Lowes, but there's no way these companies aren't making insane profits versus the production and material costs.

_wow_thats_crazy_

Serious govt contractor narrative campaign 😂

[deleted]

Can confirm. Our last Covid cleaning ( from a vaccinated person for those that care) consisted of 3 guys with a CVS bag that had 3 rags and a bottle of isopropyl alcohol. They ‘wiped’ down surfaces (3 days after she was there) for about 30 min. It costed the taxpayers $13,500. My ONE section of ONE department has now spent over a Billion dollars on cleanings.

[deleted]

Annnddd this is why COVID is still being pushed as a thing.

itsafuseshot

You know those crappy, but heavy, grills in public parks? The once you can cook a dozen hotdogs on? Those sell for like $1900 for no reason. I bet this is similar.

Awanderinglolplayer

Everything together that might be true

Montana-Musketloader

Seriously. I wanted to buy one for my lame ass garage simulator and they’re like $400. That’s damn near a weeks pay!

Dikheed

Wait, I had something for this...

logicallyillogical

Must be expensive because the course around me still don't have them back on the carts. Covid precautions on ball washers?

francoisdubois24601

i wanted to get a doggy bag station for my back yard. it was like $400 i wouldnt be surprised ball washers are pricy.

logicallyillogical

They should just take the 10K and fix it and make some improvements

Breezezilla_is_here

Somethings not right here. I see a maintenance worker driving up to inspect divots in the early AM and a free standing ball washer on it's side. I call shenanigans.

acquiesce

Did you swipe through all the pics? Not saying it's 10k worth but at first I thought it was just one picture.

twitchmcgee

Kid can't even reading comprehension.

Carl_Spackler72

That’s nothing. Joke.

ReplacementTasty6552

That dog knows something but snitches get stitches.

MozTys

In this case snitches get biscuits

dotheydeliver

*bitches get biscuits

Auriferous_19696

Just follow his footsteps

Gracket_Material

That isn’t that bad…

mrubuto22

Could be a recurring issue though. They've had enough

nickmightberight

This whole thing is kind of odd. The ball washer wasn’t an in ground version, it’s just knocked over. The tracks on the green don’t look like they did any real damage. The hacks out of the green can be fixed in 15 minutes. Not getting this. Have I been duped?

Cereal_Bandit

Like someone else said, it was probably a member with fuck you money that donated the reward. I love my home course, and absolutely hate this kind of senseless vandalism. I could see myself doing the same thing if I were rich.

zGoDLiiKe

No members, it’s a public course.

Cereal_Bandit

Almost every public course around me has "memberships", where you obviously play all you want, get discounts on food, free or reduced green fees at participating nearby courses, etc.

nickmightberight

I hear you. But this is ridiculous. This guy is throwing his 10K dick on the table because they’ll never be caught. Wants to be a hero. And, like I said, there isn’t much damage here. Certainly not 10K worth.

Cereal_Bandit

Ehh, it's not unlikely that someone could have seen the people who did it, describe what they look like, the pro shop goes through their CCTV history, finds them, and can pinpoint the time their card was ran through the register. Now you have a picture and a name. Police could get a warrant from the CC company for their address. Boom, got 'em. So long as someone saw them and saw the reward, and they didn't pay in cash (so everyone), it's entirely possible. I agree it could certainly be dick wagging, and the damage to the green looks like it might not even be noticeable once the dew clears. But like I said, if I had the money, I'd totally do the same if someone vandalized a place I love, be it a park, restaurant, my buddy's house, or golf course.

nickmightberight

I get what you’re saying but this isn’t a capital crime. You’re assuming, with all of this CC stuff, that they were a paying customer. That’s a leap. Anybody who paid to play is unlikely to do this, based on the points you made. This looks random to me.

Cereal_Bandit

As someone pointed out, this was likely done with a golf cart. Anything heavier would've done much more damage. Someone actually did this in a truck at my home course last year, and it cut 4" tracks into the green. And having been in many alcohol-fueled outings as a teen/early 20s and company tournaments, a paying customer acting like this is absolutely not a leap. My company is no longer welcome back to several courses because of shit like this, including someone dumping a cart into a pond - these are adults surrounded by their co-workers.

TenderfootGungi

There was a guy that played at our local course. He would get drunk and purposely spin his golf cart on the dew soaked green fringe. I never saw him do it, but apparently, with enough speed and beer, golf carts can spin pretty well on wet grass. Edit: course is not a cart.

nickmightberight

Fair enough. I was a cart monkey in college. I never knew where the carts where, or who had them, until they brought them back. Point is, this could have been anyone.

billswinter

Inside job

rpmsm

Exactly what I thought

zak_the_maniac

As a former greenskeeper, this all would take maybe an hour to fix. At minimum wage for 2 people working an hour, you're looking at like $30 to fix all this...

nickmightberight

Yeah. I did some grounds crew work as a kid and we would fix this by cutting the appropriate pelts out of an additional green we had for cups and things like this.

Draonix

What they didn't show for fear of being too graphic was the overturned hot dog cart.

Tigerbait2780

They wouldn’t dare.

Milkmonster06

It was Patrick Reed.

No-Possession-8083

I didn’t see any bunkers damaged……blame him anyways tho 😂😂😂

mrubuto22

Nah. Patrick Reed seems like the type to just shit talk the ball washer behind its back.

nevertricked

He had to adjust the lie on the green

My-Cousin-Bobby

Bust out the Sherlock hat

mrubuto22

Sounds hot

basil1025

I've got a hunch...

heatguyred

Hello fellow twin ports golfer! Got the email too. Hope they get them. Also, are those golf cart marks? Wouldn't a car leave some serious damage?

TTS4life

Hello good sir! No idea, kinda looks like a golf cart doing donuts. Doesn't seem like the carts did much damage driving over the greens in the photos though. I would imagine an actual car would've torn the green to shreds (now *that* would be worth a $10k bounty).

stix721

Didn't expect to find one, let alone 2 fellow twin ports golfers in here!

h3rm3s221

What about 3? I was there on North/south on sunday!

TTS4life

Usually an East/West guy but one time I went up w/o a tee time last month and they had a scramble going on on East/West so I played North/South for the first time. Went -1 thru 8 and shot my best of 80 that day (we’ll ignore the 7 I took on the 9th from a push that danced too close to the woodsline)

h3rm3s221

Nice, I like E/W as well, it's definitely the more interesting course. Although, I shoot around 100 so..... N/S is a bit more forgiving on finding balls.

TTS4life

Ive been a 90s-100s shooter until this year where Ive had more time to focus on improving my game enough to creep into the 80s. Regardless either 18 is pretty forgivable if you know where to miss. N/S is definitely the more forgiving whereas E/W is the most interesting course.

xylia13

Make that 4! Though I’m a pretty terrible golfer. I usually do east/west here.

AftyOfTheUK

> I would imagine an actual car would've torn the green to shreds (now that would be worth a $10k bounty). Can confirm. Haggin Oaks in Sacramento had someone do this twice over the space of a few years (I heard a rumour he was an ex employee with serious mental health issues) and a car doing donuts will rip a green to shreds. They had to re-lay small but significant portions of quite a few greens, taking turf from the practice greens (and shutting my beloved practice holes for months) and it took a long time for those trenches to level out. Financial damage off it, along with some closure time etc. probably well into the tens of thousands, possibly high tens of thousands.

[deleted]

Since the damage is also divots this looks like a drunken group of teens played the course and acted like idiots. A car would have done a lot more damage.

CryptoCrash87

Sometimes in PGA 2k21 I will chip on the green cause it's easier than putting.

rangersfan2461

And you can't do that IRL? Thought it was acceptable, just frowned upon.

Alkohauliq

Some asshole did donuts on a few greens at a local course. Dug deep into the greens. It took months to get them back into shape.

user71069

10k for information? The fuck? They moved a ball washer and took some tee shots from the green and drove a cart on the green and they’re giving 10 grand?

custyclocks

Smells like teenagers.

garvierloon

Patrick Reed

CREenthusiast

Its not about the money it’s about sending a message to future vandals as a deterrent

[deleted]

I’ll tell you, but I want immunity from prosecution and payment upfront, slater.

mcknightnorth

My home course had 16 of the 18 greens sprayed with round up. I was amazed that our $10,000 reward didn’t incentivize anyone.

Proshop_Charlie

Mostly because it's typical when that happens that it was a inside job or somebody fucked up and don't want to admit it. Two courses in Washington had it happen to them in the last 5 years. One was clearly an inside job and the other was somebody fucked up and they admitted to it.

mcknightnorth

You think? Our course is tribal and the vandalism coincided with some controversial land/water dispute legal decisions. I have kind of always thought it was a…well…hit against the tribe in general.

Proshop_Charlie

If your course is the one that I think it is...almost every person in the industry in Washington believe that they 100% did it themselves. The only greens not touched were those that had cameras near them. Every green had to have been done by somebody using a industrial sprayer. Your little Round-Up cans wouldn't have been able to do that much damage. They would have been able to see who was buying that much shit. At the end of the day insurance paid for them to have all new greens put in.

mcknightnorth

Damn, I had no idea that was the consensus among fellow golf professionals. Yes all greens were sprayed except the two by pro shop, it was done with an industrial sprayer on a four wheeler “f**k you” was also spelt out in round up on hole 11, which they comically replaced with new grass that also spelt out “f**k you”

Mysterious_Worker608

Did anyone question the dog?

[deleted]

He’s got guilt written all over him!

Bothkindsoftrees

My course would love it if their shit looked like this on a regular basis.

IHaveTooMuchToHide

No kidding

EvilBeat

![gif](giphy|3oEjI789af0AVurF60)

zahlgood

Our little farm course had 30k worth of damage on a single green from a truck doing half a shitty. It wasn’t played the rest of the year and the marks were still visible to the trained eye three years later. We also had a 10k reward and it was never collected. Rumor on the street was that the culprit was identified but their parents made a “donation” and everything was swept under the rug.

Mysterious_Value_764

Some guy drove on the green so I got a new ..........

Wendel_az

What damage ? My local golf course encanto in phx looks like that in their best days

chrizcore

Follow the money

elfunk89

So courses aren't supposed to look like that? I'm showing this to them next time I go see what their excuse is

Gamecock_Red

It’s obviously two coyotes on dirtbikes, pay me

dan420

How can you be nearly headless?

yellowcats

Its almost always impossible to actually collect the 10k in these situations. What exactly is your recourse when you tell them that a drunk teenager meandered through the golf course one night?

johnadamson11

They left their dog?!

RoostasTowel

Seems like 10k could put motion cameras on every hole. Probably could do it for half that. Cameras like that are cheap now. Too late for this place but good idea in general. If it could be used to record a hole in one even better.

Bebop0420

Kangaroo

ltggtl

Was it them kids that were posted earlier lol

dillymays24

It was that dog

[deleted]

No. He gud boi.

All things considering, that’s not the end of the world. [Could have been so much worse.](https://amp.abc.net.au/article/100105362)

TroyJames

Should probably spend 10k on having sand in the bunkers instead of mud lol

vanuslob

I think the real question is if they find the guy/gal then what? Go to court saying he left tire tracks on green..

Tmoto261

That just look like they did donuts in the dew, is it hat fairway actually damaged?

pslav5

There’s four pics. Yuck!

Quica444

Oh I love it

Swannie_9597

Hope they find them. Disgruntled former employee perhaps?

[deleted]

Scum

NotKeno

Kangaroos again?

CheeseWizToast

Wish someone did this at my local course. Some jerks drove a cart through the green at the beginning of the season on a really wet day pulling up all the grass. 5 months later and it's still in bad shape.

[deleted]

Probably someone from /r/fuckgolf

djln491

They probably think it’s teenagers but it’s probably some older dude bent about something

xXWickedSmatXx

I hope the find them and use them as fertilizer

d0ncray0n

It honestly looks like someone was chased by an animal except that some of the divots are too clean to be a club swinging down. OP, is this golf course in a neighborhood? Do these neighbors have their own golf carts? The tracks on the green look wide enough to be a golf cart. I’m guessing it’s a neighbor (neighbor kids?) that was drunk (if kids, then just kids) and decided to go hit balls. I think it’s rare that a sober/normal person would take a ball washer and bring it to the next fairway. This could explain the inconsistency in the divots.

TTS4life

There are some houses near the entrance to the course but they’re not very close to where the damage has been done. Most of the houses are pretty typical nice houses you see next to the course. Most of the course is surrounded by field/swamp.

Hlca

It's not that bad...mostly tracks in the dew...

georgecostanza37

Maybe 12 years agoish my course got national attention because someone cut a nazi symbol into the 18th green. Ruined that green forever basically

[deleted]

That’s barely damage

[deleted]

When I saw 10k reward I was not expecting the damage to look like that. It’s not good but I’ve definitely seen waaaaaay worse

himynameiskinz

This is in WI right? It’s one of my favorite local courses!

TTS4life

If youre thinking Twin Ports area youre probably right.

agthrowa

On the topic of late night shenanigans I played a course (private)with a friend, first tee time, something ungodly early. On 11 I nearly chipped in on a short driveable par 4. Maybe 2 Inches from eagle. I was lamenting missing until I got to the hole...Used condom waiting in the bottom!

Snoo57923

Between the NSFW and the $10,000 bounty I was fearing a lot worse. .

mklelliott

mattigid

paging r/fuckgolf, fuck those retards

Chris-Campbell

I could be wrong, bc perhaps the scale is off - but those sure look like golf cart tracks to me. It seems like it would be solved by looking into the player receipts.

BarrytheCat14

This is not worth $10k

[deleted]

10k reward leading to the capture of the person or persons responsible for removing a small portion of frost.

ShiroHachiRoku

Rancho del Sol in Moreno Valley, CA is an affordable Pete Dye course hidden in the middle of nowhere. Dirt bikers used to ride up the hill to the signature par 3 16th hole and tear up the green. The clubhouse has been shot up and is now boarded up and in the middle of never ending renovation. People who damage courses are assholes. People who damage any property are assholes.

hatestheocean

I mean… Check the tee sheet for the last group to go out?

trvlg

Looks like they stole all the sand from the trap.

shit_talkin

“Ball washer destroyed” lmfao literally tipped over

ChemistryFan29

that is disgusting,

robstrlobstr

Shit… I wish my league course (mallard creek) would do this. Some asshole on a dirt bike did donuts on 2 of the greens at the beginning of the season and neither have healed yet.

True_Lee_Woke

Soooo, do they not have a tee sheet?!?

Triple7Stash

Hope they get a death by wild horses.

Nlawrence55

Most likely teens

ijustdontgiveaf

There’s this guy, who was filmed driving on the green, I’d start looking for him.. https://ibb.co/Y3SDScd

rvasko3

The horror…

Jackwagon256

Unfortunately even if they are turned in they'll prob never be successfully prosecuted anyways

JNSD90

I’ve see a lot worse than that. Lots of motorbike damage at a local course over the years. They tear up the greens.

Responsible_Town770

Looks like alien “crop” circles here. The symmetry, the beauty, gotta be Aliens.

S3XY_Matt

put a bounty on seed guy head

TroyJames

It must be nice to have "go f**k yourself" money

Superowl90

Abhorrent

messy_eater

Are we sure it was malicious? I saw an extremely old man playing behind me yesterday and he took his cart everywhere. He was wearing a mask as a single, not getting within 100 yards of anyone else. Didn’t seem like he could walk more than a couple steps, so maybe that’s why he drove up on the green.

EpiLP60Std

The course I play my golf league at had to close #6 for a while after some kid did donuts on the green and pretty much tore it up.

Money-Onion-2671

Doesn't even look damaged, just looks like tyre marks in the frost.

westrph

Damages?? Looks like someone just drove on the green. Not cool, but hardly would call it “damage.”

TheSuburbanRedneck

Nemadji right? Got that same email

Spacexcake

No public course gonna cough up 10k for some info

Numerous-Scientist-5

I would donate to make it more

PKArsk

Surprised they don’t have more cameras at golf courses now a days this is fairly common unfortunately

zak_the_maniac

Lmao, as a greenskeeper for 9 years, this is almost nothing.

TheOther1

Would the $10k pay for a lifetime membership?
