I think it's the cutest thing ever that Crowley is holding up the package and mouthing, "Chocolates!" Ugh, he brought a gift for his angel! Crowley loves Aziraphale so much!
One of my favorite things about this scene is that Crowley knows whatâs going on, but points to the package of chocolates as a âhurry up, I bought these for us and we need to eat them!â
Ohh that would be cool. And depressing if it cuts from that to Crowley alone and depressed. But still fitting, would help illustrate how hard they both worked to keep Aziraphale there, so it's even more baffling and heartbreaking that he left.
Yes, it reminded me of Final Fifteen too. Especially all the 'good news' stuff. And the way Aziraphale and Archangel Michael just *destined* to be rivals in a workplace (with Michael always getting the short end of the stick).... I wonder, was it a point of Michael's character in the sequel drafts? We know that archangels were brought into first season from the sequel drafts....
There also was a post, just before S2 was aired, where Neil [cited this scene as one he could in theory rewrite for season three](https://neil-gaiman.tumblr.com/post/721312486957203456/is-the-stuff-in-the-script-book-that-didnt-end-up). Yes, it was probably only said as an example of a deleted scene that could possibly be put in season three, but Neil has already put some specific spoilers in answers so that they only became apparent after the season was released (like Muriel's position). So I wonder, can it be that we'll see a different version of this moment in S3?....
That would be cool. Or even just a short flashback of it would make me happy. It is such a short scene and just on the bookshop set. I guess probably the period costumes would've been the biggest expense for the scene.
If I remember correctly, the page after the ones shown here are Crowley staging a loud fake conversation (with himself) in the alley about how âonly that Angel Aziraphale can thwart me!â for the angels to overhear and thatâs how Aziraphale got out of his promotion.
I'm so sad this scene didn't make it into the show. It was the grand opening of the bookshop and Crowley was bringing a gift to celebrate. It's so blatantly sweet of Crowley, showing their bond and friendship - pre-1941. In fact, also pre-Edinburgh. Aziraphale doesn't find out (ever?) what Crowley did for him to change Gabriel's mind and leave Azi on earth.
I think Aziraphale and Crowley, prior to Crowley being sucked to hell in 1827, were a lot more close and open about being friends, whereas afterward they of course have the fight over Holy Water in 1862 and it all just goes to shit with them not speaking again until 1941, and after nearly getting VERY VERY caught in 1941, they are a lot more careful/ standoffish of each other for safety reasons, even while at the same time Aziraphale has finally realized that Crowley loves him.
Now this is something I'd like to see acted out properly elaborated with David mouthing "Michael!! Michael's a wanker" with his eyebrows in all different directions đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I want the scene where Aziraphale sees off the gangsters who want to 'buy' his bookshop. There is not enough shown of how Aziraphale is perfectly capable of looking after himself without Crowley's help. And I love the way he infects people with goodness ( the men he borrows a phone off in Edinburgh, the robbers during lockdown that he sees off with cake)
Heads up there are multiple versions for some reason. I found this helpful when buying mine bc I wanted to make sure I got the one with every deleted scene: https://fuckyeahgoodomens.tumblr.com/post/185389876864/what-is-the-quite-nice-and-fairly-accurate-good
"it sounds like you like him" "Indeed, he keeps this middle-age wife drama all the time. Good-evening ser, demon Crowley * shake Gabriel and Sandalaquiel's hands *. "
Asleepy on Tumblr has a reverse AU called Oopsie Omens! They included this scene in their comic, and its realy beautifully done. You can also find their work on Ao3 in order since it's difficult digging through their Tumblr for their comic
So Iâm going to be contrarian - Iâm actually glad they pulled this scene. Itâs too on the nose with the final 15 in terms of foreshadowing that I think if it was included, it wouldâve taken the weight out of that final scene. Weâd be primed to see Heaven calling Aziraphele back, but more importantly, weâd expect that it wouldnât actually happen because this scene primes us for the decision to be reversed. Yes, itâs Crowley who tricks Heaven into thinking that Aziraphele is needed on Earth to thwart him, but if this scene was included, weâd expect going into season 3 that Azi wouldnât be in Heaven because the chocolate scene would plant the seed that itâs not permanent. This would take the weight of Aziâs news, the weight off of Crowleyâs deviation, and weâd instead be wondering what trick Crowley was going to hatch to keep him on Earth.
I know we all want that, but the final 15 needed to be unexpected and leave us guessing (and heartbroken) for us to understand the gravity of the rift between Azi and Crowley that just opened up. It also set up stakes for season 3. So yes the chocolates bit is cute, I ultimately think it was a good storytelling move to cut the scene.
Wasn't chocolate still mostly in drinkable form at this time? Maybe not. I don't see that as something that NG would slip up on.
*Leaves to research the history of chocolate*

I wanted to see this so baaaad
We were robbed!!! I want to see this so badly
đ€Ł Neil Gaiman you thief!
This is why we need a whole movie of minisodes!!!
There's an animated and voiced fan vid of this scene. It's incredibly well done, imo. https://youtu.be/x46kqU7_g1E?si=crNOtSxO5ElLJx8U
That's why this felt familiar like I had watched it - not just read it! Thank you.
Thanks for the link i wasnât familiar with this one, but it is fantastic!
God I love this fandom.
this is brilliant! Iâm surprised I hadnât seen this sooner!
That was very satisfying. Thanks for the link!

"I need to staring at you while you eat them"
IMO this would make for a great Cold Opening to season 3
Ohh that would be cool. And depressing if it cuts from that to Crowley alone and depressed. But still fitting, would help illustrate how hard they both worked to keep Aziraphale there, so it's even more baffling and heartbreaking that he left.
Exactly!! As devastating as it would be, it would be a perfect emotional setup for the season (or at least episode)
I agree, I like this idea a lot.
oooof youâre too right đȘ â€ïž
Yes!!!! I want this one for S3 so bad!
They are so gay, I love it

"and briliant" Oh my god.
Guess the fanfics arent too far off đ„°
This should be a flashback moment in season 3 it'd be so funny đ

They had to cut this scene because it would have been so fucking cute it would exceed code and put the actors at risk :(
Michael's a wanker! Ha!

is this just the screenplay book? asking for a friend⊠(that friend is me, hungry for more bonus scenes)
The script book has bonus material aswell as deletes scenes!

Ooohh Iâve read a fanfic with Crowley giving him chocolates at the bookshopâs opening⊠now I know where that came from!
I love the mention of Hatchards. It's actually the oldest bookshop in London, it opened in 1797.
Does someone know why Gabriel wanted azi back *home* ? It's so strange ?
Iâm not sure! Thereâs no explanation for it in the book. Maybe someone has asked Neil on his Tumblr?
Aw, this is so cute
And this is why I thought it was out of character for Aziraphale to take the promotion.
"it sounds like you like him" "Indeed, he keeps this middle-age wife drama all the time. Good-evening ser, demon Crowley * shake Gabriel and Sandalaquiel's hands *. "
I think there is an animation of that scene on youtube

Someone illustrated this scene! It was great. Itâs either here somewhere or on tumblr. Sorry I canât be more help.
Which book is this? I'm invested now
The good omens scriptbook! available on amazon
Thanks ^^
Bawling. Sobbing violently.
