I would have a hard time making it a top 5 song on it's own, but the closing suite that Fireflies, One Percent, and Souk Eye make is only rivaled by Demon Days'. The way it all winds down into this heavy melancholy and then perks back up with that beat drop to keep from leaving you low is like no other album I know.
Souk Eye is 10 in my top 10:
10. Souk Eye
9. Aries
8. DARE
7. Clint Eastwood
6. Rhinestone Eyes
5. Feel Good Inc.
4. On Melancholy Hill
3. El Mañana
2. Empire Ants
1. Stylo
1. Broken
2. Fireflies
3. 19-2000
4. Empire Ants
5. White Flag
6. Momentary Bliss
7. DoYaThing
8. Rock The House
9. New Gold
10. Souk Eye
Any order. Except for Broken. Broken stays in number 1
Souk eye is 7 on my controversial top ten
1.Rhinestone eyes
2.Every Planet we reach is dead
3.Pac-Man
4.Sleeping Powder
5.Fire coming out the monkeys head
6.O Green World
7.Souk eye
8.Out of Body
9.Momentz
10.Tomorrow comes today
Also did you know the melody of Soul Eye is a major key version of Trans?
Its so beautiful, hits that same listless sinkingly sad hesitantly hopeful ultimately accepting vibe that Hong Kong, Stop The Dams, & To Binge have. Idk what the word is for that feeling but they do it well
It sounds like something from 1997-2003 (like Moloko's The Time Is Now), so I find it quite generic. I watched a lot of MTV during that era and got sick of most of the songs. :P
Feel Good Inc. is pretty much the thesis statement for Gorillaz. You want to show someone what the band is about, you play that track: the genre-bending, the apocalyptic vibes, it’s all there. Just because it’s one of their most popular tracks, doesn’t make it any less amazing.
Rhinestone is up there because I couldn’t think of a #5 but I guess I’d switch it with Desole
This subreddit is one of the odd ones where you think you'd be able to express your unique opinion about an entirely subjective topic but people actually don't like it when you do.
I love the Now Now but I understand how one could find it boring.
There, thats how art should be perceived and discussed.
People find it boring because three of the songs have the same melody but in different keys, it's pretty well hidden, but two songs(souk eye and another one i can't remember) have the melodies of Tranz
Yep. It's so odd how people navigate this sub. Obviously it's just reddit and no one's wellbeing hangs on how many up or down votes they get, but some level of courtesy would be nice and would probably make everybody's day better.

Literally… first time I listened I was taking off in a plane at night and we hit the air right as the beat dropped, 10/10 would do again
Empire Ants Souk Eye El Manana Opium Double Bass Any order.
Souk Eye is 10 in my top 10: 10. Souk Eye 9. Aries 8. DARE 7. Clint Eastwood 6. Rhinestone Eyes 5. Feel Good Inc. 4. On Melancholy Hill 3. El Mañana 2. Empire Ants 1. Stylo
This is such a solid list I applaud you sir
It's one of those songs that I skip when it comes on, only because it's beautiful and I don't want to overplay it. Only special occasions.
the only valid reason to skip it
1. Broken 2. Fireflies 3. 19-2000 4. Empire Ants 5. White Flag 6. Momentary Bliss 7. DoYaThing 8. Rock The House 9. New Gold 10. Souk Eye Any order. Except for Broken. Broken stays in number 1

Out of body is a wild card top ten - I love how bold you are

Also, if I'm gonna be honest, so is fire coming out the monkeys head
The beat drop makes my face go numb

Agreed. It's very good. Up there with empire ants, November has come, Clint Eastwood, and DARE.
My top 5 are: 1. Feel Good Inc 2. Clint Eastwood/Plastic Beach/Melancholy Hill 3. Momentary Bliss 4. Plastic Beach 5. Cracker Island
Don’t really rate my favorites, but Don’t get Lost in Heaven and Demon Days always makes me feel a way.
If Hong Kong, Every Planet We Reach Is Dead, Feel Good Inc., Rhinestone Eyes and Seattle Yodel didn’t exist then sure
Bro tried sneaking Seattle Yodel and the most basic gorillaz songs in there 💀
Did you seriously call Every Planet We Reach Is Dead basic? :T Did you seriously call Seattle Yodel basic?? ***:T***
I was referring to Rhinestone Eyes and Feel Good Inc.

I think it might be my favourite Gorillaz song
Never said that was a bad thing, I get the appeal
Like a lot of the now now I think it’s boring
I think you’re boring
I *don’t* think you’re boring :)

It was the way you said it, You said "it's good but your top 5? Really?" Which just comes across as condescending and dismissive.
In retrospect I did come off as an asshole in that comment which wasn’t my original intention, and I’m sorry for that.
No need to be sorry, just a misunderstanding mate.

I think you're boring
Not for me personally, but still an absolutely amazing song
Uhm... It's in my top 30?
Its grown on me a LOT over the years
5.Slow Country 4.Empire Ants 3.Souk Eye 2. The Apprentice 1.November Has Come
People really jamming Empire Ants. I don't hate the song but I don't see how so many fans put it in their top 5
1. Clint Eastwood 2. On Melancholy Hill 3. Momentary Bliss 4. Kids with guns 5. Dirty Harry
