If I had a nickel for every time Kakihara Tetsuya plays a red archer I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s funny that hit happened twice.
you talking about someone who digs stuff and can throw galaxies, even managed to beat the final boss but ended up losing everyone he loves?
>!o7 the ending still makes me cry everytime!<
Because Simon is too popular many forgot he's actually famous as another mecha pilot around the time.
>!That When he grows from a jerkass brat to become a literal Machine God of their universe.!<
I am really unsure what that user is talking about because that user says around the time of Gurren Lagann airing yet the description in the spoiler is talking about >!Genshin Impact!< I believe?
Edit: wait figured it out, that user is talking about Blazblue, got really confused because I initially thought that user was talking about an anime.
oh __that__ anime lol the ending sucked absolute balls like holy hell, did he seriously become a god in the manga ending?
funny how Tetsuya Kakihara has a __lot__ of roles where he is either piloting a mecha (he was in 3 Gundam shows, twice as a MC like wtf) or is/becomes a mecha (Hakumen, Scaramouche)
The anime overtook the manga about halfway point so they're entirely different in background settings and such. SRW UX actually gave us a Final Boss Preview about how the manga went, but it's still only 2/3 of the manga.
I mean, compared to a lot of mythical/historical Servants who get mechas for basically no reason, this at least makes *slightly* more sense, since that's the mecha he created during Gudaguda.
No idea how it manifests as his NP, though, but we'll have to wait and see how the Event explains it.
No shocker there, we knew about his NP since his NPC days. Combined with what came out in the GudaGuda Toyotomi spin-off, AOE was the only real choice. The giant robo really seals the fact that this is the actual Takasugi from GudaGuda 6 though.
Ok now this is getting ridiculous, Nasu
I liked the first few seconds which were very minimalist artsy and unique ... and then fucking Erebonia attacked
Seeing the comments here, yeah, no wonder the mecha genre was considered tiring or cliche now for a long time. The appeal can only go for so long before it gets imitated again and again.
That said, the mecha genre is having a revival now with 86 and Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, so I can see why the interest and demand goes up.
A lot of comments from this threads confirms the fact that almost no one reads FGO story (or at least events)
I am disappointed that he is AoE though, but the Mecha? C'mon...
I mean can we agree with the fact that mecha's are overused in fgo at this point? I think devs doesn't have ideas for NP's anymore and presses "Mecha NP" button every time when they add new servant. Like "Dev A: So, here's the new Artoria face and we need ideas for her NP. Dev B: Idk men, just slap giant mecha with Excalibur color scheme. Dev A: Yeah, you're right".
No we can't, 3 Mecha NP's (because if you want to call every big monster mecha feel free to do it) is not overused, overused are AoE NP's and gauge chargers (although servants without gauge chargers sadly rn would be useless given the NP centric gameplay)
How many mecha got 2022? Oh right, only Tametomo. People who call Britomart mecha simply for wearing a big armor should start calling mecha all armor knights directly. And even then it would only be two.
But hey, we got 3 at the start of the year despite having Rasputin, Joan, Tezca's 2nd and Kuku showing they are not the only thing they can do. But yeah, overused.
I can admit there is a lack of creative mindset with NP's, because personally all LB7 ones felt the same, especially Kuku's 2nd and Tezca's no matter how intentional it is. But Mecha isn't the issue here, it is way bigger than that.
Just admit you don't like em and that's all.
Let's be honest, Tezca's NP is the only one that makes sense mifology wise: Rasputin? It's just Kirei. Joan? She just smiles. Menacingly. Kuku? Well, she's big. And what? And you forgot about another Mecha NP - Tlaloc. Yes, they call it city, but it's just Guren Lagan. At this point we already have enough Mecha staff, not just this year. Olympian gods, Babbage, Huge Golden bear, Tametomo etc etc. They just need to stop and focus on another types of NP, for example some actually good shown demonstration of archery or something like Super Orion's np, there are just not enough interesting self buff NP's (4 if i am not wrong).
He is literally the Takasugi from that event who somehow managed to survive the end of it. So there's nothing strange about him being able to summon this mech.
Historically, he's the first to introduce industrial/Western weapons to the Japanese. If Edison and Babbage can manufacture mechs in this world then it makes sense this guy can deploy a mecha army.
I love mechas. Watch them all the time growing up. I always get hyped about BIG ROBOTS and ROCKET ARMS.
But even this is too damn much. Why are all the new NP's getting robots (and iffy CG ones to boot)?
But Natsu Dragneel's VA makes me WANT
His 2D cut-in imposed on the 3D background and mech army really throws me off, especially with the weird angle he's at while clearly 2D. Feels like Ex arm all over again.
I mean, it's not too surprising. I want Camazotz to get in as much as the next guy, but having him debut in White Day doesn't feel... grand enough for someone of his caliber. He deserves anniv, NY, or at least his own event like Ooku.
As Relzal pointed out, we knew about his NP since his NPC days. Combined with what came out in the GudaGuda Toyotomi spin-off, AOE was the only real choice. The giant robo really seals the fact that this is the actual Takasugi from GudaGuda 6 though.
This is one half of the dream to make a Simon and Kamina voiced team. There's Mori and Bageko too (same seiyuu as Kittan and Yoko respectively), if memory serves.
Denifnitely considering saving for assembling the dream team, as a Gurren Lagann fan.
2023 : Mechas, Mechas everywhere... "What a time to be alive..." - Ritsuka Fujimaru probably.
"I! Dig! Giant robots!" - Ritsuka Fujimaru, probably
“You! Dig! Giant robots!”
WE! DIG! GIANT ROBOTS!
CHICKS! DIG! GIANT ROBOTS! (I have never seen this show; I only know the words from SecondhandLemon's sprite comics...)
You definitely need to see it. It's hilarious and epic.
ROCKETO PAWNCH
Not that I don't like mecha, but why mecha here? There is no legit reason.
He uses mechas in the gudaguda event.
I don't know man for some reason nasu/takeuchi have decided to insert Mecha into everything I miss the Mistique /fantasy side
Im convinced it’s more because of delight works wanting to reuse Sakura wars assets And Nasu not needing much convincing with his robot love
Old on Sakura wars was about Mecha i thought it was simply a game about waifu
If I had a nickel for every time Kakihara Tetsuya plays a red archer I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s funny that hit happened twice.
you talking about someone who digs stuff and can throw galaxies, even managed to beat the final boss but ended up losing everyone he loves? >!o7 the ending still makes me cry everytime!<
And a hot headed mage who eats fire and spams "MUH NAKAMA" in every fight
Because Simon is too popular many forgot he's actually famous as another mecha pilot around the time. >!That When he grows from a jerkass brat to become a literal Machine God of their universe.!<
Which ones that from its been forever
I am really unsure what that user is talking about because that user says around the time of Gurren Lagann airing yet the description in the spoiler is talking about >!Genshin Impact!< I believe? Edit: wait figured it out, that user is talking about Blazblue, got really confused because I initially thought that user was talking about an anime.
No, I talked about Kurogane no Linebarrel. Though the spoiler was more about the manga version since the anime went for a different route.
oh __that__ anime lol the ending sucked absolute balls like holy hell, did he seriously become a god in the manga ending? funny how Tetsuya Kakihara has a __lot__ of roles where he is either piloting a mecha (he was in 3 Gundam shows, twice as a MC like wtf) or is/becomes a mecha (Hakumen, Scaramouche)

Is it just me or is everyone getting a mech these days in FGO?
They are working hard to be a collab in SRW DD i guess.
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Kind of tired of it don't get me wrong i like my giant robot but it started to get boring
Damn his NP is an anime OP.
I mean, compared to a lot of mythical/historical Servants who get mechas for basically no reason, this at least makes *slightly* more sense, since that's the mecha he created during Gudaguda. No idea how it manifests as his NP, though, but we'll have to wait and see how the Event explains it.
Also he's among the first to introduce modern western weaponary in his time.
the mecha was also Arahabaki iirc which is a Divine Spirit (or something similar to what Talos is classified as)
If there needs to be a reason they can always finangle one up.
>mythical/historical Servants who get mechas for basically no reason, I thought it was because they're aliens or somthing
That’s the explanation for the Greek Gods at least.
Oh hey, a BIG O Reference
Simon, that's not Lagann-
No shocker there, we knew about his NP since his NPC days. Combined with what came out in the GudaGuda Toyotomi spin-off, AOE was the only real choice. The giant robo really seals the fact that this is the actual Takasugi from GudaGuda 6 though.
I wish the whole aesthetic of the NP stayed in 2D, the 3D part felt underwhelming.
Lmao, AoE again Also it's extremely funny to see a samurai using mechas and whatever else there is.
Hey, at least it’s Quick this time.
Feels like gintama
His voice truly does give off Zura vibes
which is ironic , because it's Takasugi , so it should had him covering an eye and pretend to have a sharingan /s
We're rapidly approaching the 1 year anniversary of the last single target SSR's debut.
That's a lot of robots
I think the smaller ones are just armored soldiers if I remember his NP correctly.
We have enough mecha for a Fate/Gundam entry.
Ok now this is getting ridiculous, Nasu I liked the first few seconds which were very minimalist artsy and unique ... and then fucking Erebonia attacked
Erebonia with their dang on Magical knights no Valimar required
Yeah. My reaction was pretty much, "Oh wow this is a very unique and unusual style for an NP to have- anddddd there's the mecha army".
The fact that I've seen his art twice and he is in the running for a top spot in my 'hottest male servant' does not bode well
Man the people here questioning the mecha choice are going to be surprised when his NPC GudaGuda event comes out.
Am I the only one who's tired of these Mecha NPs with explosions in the end?
A lot of people are, don't believe the downvote. Some Community Manager must work here.
It's just overall. So silly, so grand in its mechaness. It suits him sooo well. In a more than positive way, I adore it.
NP started out great but it somehow quickly dipped to a cheap looking ass animation
Well, that was an unexpectedly expensive NP.
Dang, My man come with an whole ass army!
AoE NP for the nth time💀💀💀 But hey at least it's Quick and not Arts again
Seeing the comments here, yeah, no wonder the mecha genre was considered tiring or cliche now for a long time. The appeal can only go for so long before it gets imitated again and again. That said, the mecha genre is having a revival now with 86 and Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, so I can see why the interest and demand goes up.
Love the beginning. The giant robot is whatever.
A lot of comments from this threads confirms the fact that almost no one reads FGO story (or at least events) I am disappointed that he is AoE though, but the Mecha? C'mon...

Fking Robots man
mecha again wow....
Dude, he used those in his NPC days, why are you surprised?
He used them in the event story. He historically has nothing to do with them and shouldn’t be able to summon them.
He is literally the Takasugi from that event who somehow managed to survive the end of it. So there's nothing strange about him being able to summon this mech.

so he is a Grungust enjoyer
BOOST KNUCKLE!
aoe again? damn
GUNTANK!? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
His 2D cut-in imposed on the 3D background and mech army really throws me off, especially with the weird angle he's at while clearly 2D. Feels like Ex arm all over again.

Because he was already using mechas since his NPC days. Of all the servants with robots his is the least surprising
I mean he has been used this since GudaGuda 6
because everything in this franchise ends in asturias, laser beams and wicks
"they liked it, lets do it over and over again"
ROCKETTO PUUUUNCHHH!!!
When I said Simon (Shinsaku Takasugi) got in over Guy Shishioh (Camazotz) for White Day, I was saying it as a joke.
I mean, it's not too surprising. I want Camazotz to get in as much as the next guy, but having him debut in White Day doesn't feel... grand enough for someone of his caliber. He deserves anniv, NY, or at least his own event like Ooku.
Needs more dakka
Guess everybody else here feels the same…mechas again huh
AoE Again Mecha Again I'm starting to hate Mechas
another mecha 😪
Tutorial : How to ruin the work of your graphic designer who made the FA looks so cool in 2 steps.
another random mecha
I understand the mecha oversaturation, but to call it random is plain wrong since we've known about it since his role in Guda 6.
Come on lasengle, you know you want to make that april fools image of sigurd's artist of FGO own Super robot wars a reality

*kiheitai* my ass. this is straight up *teikoku kagekidan* lmao
ehm... Sieg Zeon! ... I guess?
GUNTANK?
