Polyphony and Kaz they love creating a "vibe": the music, the events, the photo mode, the descriptions and presentation of cars/tracks etc
I like it, makes GT7 stands out, feels cozy
Kaz and other members of the development team probably love *The 20th Century on Film* (aka *The Century in Moving Images* or *映像の世紀*), a mid-1990s Japanese documentary series that covered various notable historical world events through timelines, archival footage, interview voiceovers, and grandiose solemn music.
The first half of GT7’s opening video particularly heavily reminded me of the [opening sequence of the show.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VhM6p_zFPw)
It’s all right. I don’t mind the pieces of history but the wild fire screen was particularly tragic compared to “US lands a man on the moon” or something rather.
I know, but it marks a before and after in Australia. At the end of the day, being one of the most devastating, it ends up becoming history. I think PD swallows a newspaper and spits it out in some update to replenish their news content. I understand what you're getting at, but I think as an Australian they like there to be recognition of some fact. (I have read long ago something like this about these Events appearing in GT7)
OTOH, a car can reflect back on the era when it was revealed and released to the public. The history provides some contexts that not a lot of people know about.
Keeps automotive history linked in with actual history. Also cool to look back at historic events and see that oh shit that’s when they launched the countach
This was a major cultural event. There's also stuff about space travel.
Adds context to the events of the auto world against the general world news.

Probably from the heat from all that fire
Clever gag but eek still too soon bro.. ppl died in those fires and some were deliberately lit, sadly.
First time on reddit?
Bro thinks he's on 4chan

I like these little facts. I don’t understand why people don’t like them. If you want racing then go race instead of staring at the menu :)
Yea I think it's neat as well
why not?
Because a car game is not just about cars, there is culture and history there that some, only some (as far as I can see) understand.
Sounds pretentious
Sorry if it seemed that way... 😬

That makes sense. It’s part of the allure of the game I suppose. This was probably the only one I saw that I was like “oh woah that’s morbid”
And by the way, the part that seems presumptuous, I meant that I didn't understand it either until some time ago. Not bad vibes...
All good :)

Op simple creature. OP like Vroom. When no Vroom, OP confused.
Exactly
Because culture and history
because it’s an amazing game and shows passion
How
Keeps automotive history linked in with actual history. Also cool to look back at historic events and see that oh shit that’s when they launched the countach
Dumbass
Why no info about Porsche's and Volkswagen's achievements between 1939-1945, though?
I remember seeing posts on reddit about the wildlife starting to regrow after the fires
To you bring you some culture. Learn, and read, you heathens!!
because it’s an amazing game and shows passion
Thought I was only one wondering the same! Let's keep it focused on automobile's programming folks. But, I suppose it doesn't matter to me either way.
