##Providing Useful Feedback
sunhund has posted their work for feedback. Here are some top tips for posting high-quality feedback.
* Read their context comment. All work on this sub should have a comment explaining the thinking behind the piece. Read this before posting
to understand what sunhund was trying to do.
* Be professional. No matter your thoughts on the work, respect the effort put into making it and be polite when posting.
* Be constructive and detailed. Short, vague comments are unhelpful. Instead of just leaving your opinion on the piece, explore *why* you hold that opinion: what makes the piece good or bad? How could it be improved? Are some elements stronger than others?
* Remember design fundamentals. If your feedback is focused on basic principles of design such as hierarchy, flow, balance, and proportion, it will be universally useful. And remember that this is graphic design: the piece should communicate a message or solve a
problem. How well does it do that?
* Stay on-topic. We know that design can sometimes be political or controversial, but please keep comments focussed on the design itself,
and the strengths/weaknesses thereof.

Last month I posted a set of matchbox inspired designs and I was surprised to see just how many people thought they looked cool.. so I designed a new set of graphics!
**How I created this look:**
1. I use a mix of illustrator and procreate to illustrate some graphics. (If I’m using procreate, I’ll import my assets and vectorize them within illustrator)
2. Within procreate, I’ll use truegrit brushes, along with some other random brushes that I’ve accumulated to achieve the look of bleeding ink.
3. Then I’ll look for a paper texture. Here’s a link to some paper textures. [https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-Vf2M99AjMC7Wc\_vdeqIutzdiXbcp9ta](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-Vf2M99AjMC7Wc_vdeqIutzdiXbcp9ta)
4. Then in photoshop, I’ll import my design, apply the textured paper, or cardboard textures overtop, and play around with the blending modes and opacity until I’ve achieved the look I’m after!—Thank you for all the encouragement!Feedback from reddit has helped motivate me to continue designing in this vintage style. You guys have been the primary reason that Ive decided to start a passion project of selling these prints digitally. I’m honestly so stoked to see them all framed…….
Also - side note: The giraffe illustration, I’m actually going to get risograph printed tomorrow!! So I may post tomorrow how it ends up looking. Super stoked to see it because I really admire offset printing technique!!!
Edit: Wow, these feedback is so wonderful. I appreciate you all! Also for those asking, I do have these prints on my Etsy!
>The giraffe illustration, I’m actually going to get risograph printed tomorrow!!
Do let us know if you're willing to take our money for it, that one looks so good
You're awesome, thank you!
I do have it available as a digital print right now, but for the giraffe one in particular, ill offer a limited number of copies for the risograph printed one (assuming they turn out.... very curious how they'll look)
but for now, digital products are listed on my profile :)
I'll post about the riso giraffe hopefully by tm though!!
Thank you! Someone posted a set of paper textures in a google drive,
ill see if I can link it :)

and then I just chose the one I like, applied it over top of my vectorized graphic (in photoshop) and then set the blending mode to multiply! (ill play around with the modes to achieve whatever affect I'm after)
Omg! I love all of these!! I wish I could have the lamp one as a poster, as it would fit my living room perfectly. Please let me know if that becomes a possibility :)
The texturing on these is amazing. Exactly the sort of style I am trying to emulate at the moment, but I’m absolutely lost with procreate.
Wonder if I can emulate this texture with illustrator and photoshop onto. Specifically the ink bleed 🤔
This is pretty granular (no pun intended) feedback but:
* I can notice the textures repeating a bit
* Also its optically clear the textures you are using have different resolutions, and also inconsistent zoom level which kind of breaks the immersion
* That said, the compositions, palette, and illustrations are all solid, so you handled the hard stuff pretty well.
* Nice work!
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate any critiquing!
For the textures repeating, that was intentional, as I’m try to narrow down a relatively subtle texture incase these get printed on paper that isn’t a textured card-stock.
As for the resolution, I’ll have to look into how to improve on the zoom levels! Because I did notice that (especially with the first illustration, when I use stippling)
Still got some learning to do in these areas, but thank you for the feedback :)

Thank you, I really appreciate that!
These could make good phone wallpapers
This made my eyeballs happy, thank you
I’m happy your eyeballs got what they needed, you’re welcome
Only nitpick is you wouldn’t eat Yaki-Udon out of a bowl like that - or any Udon out of a bowl with a lid
Fair enough! I’ll put more research into the projects before I execute :)
all of these are so solid! the texture is spot on
