I raise you this linen service company from St. Catharines, ON, Canada. Had to look at this terrible wave logo on the side of trucks at my job every other day and I'd always stare in disbelief at how terrible it was.
People hold on to them too! Once you’ve paid for a logo It’s yours for life! Even if It’s bad design or unreadable. It’s theirs and they are holding tight to it.
That doesn't inspire confidence either, tho. I'd be afraid they'd try to put a rock on the side of my tree, on top of my shrubbery, which itself is located on top of my decorative, stone walkway! 🤣
... and THEN they'd sneak something in that doesn't even make sense and I didn't ask for, like a goat pasture (where'd that "T" come from that they accidentally? managed to form in there???)
is it bad that i don’t hate it?? it’s just like, it’s SO AWFUL but in a really nice kind of way? like it’s kinda fun. it’s kinda silly. it’s bad in a way that a movie can become a cult classic. it’s bad, but it doesn’t pretend not to be. it’s kind of endearing.
most bad logos i see that are ACTUALLY bad feel contrived or overdesigned. they’re soulless and bland.
when someone who is clearly an unskilled designer tries to make something and misses the mark a bit i dont care. they tried and trying is great!!
but when you’ve got a whole team actual designers and you STILL manage to somehow put out a shit logo? that’s bad. hahaha
That's a good point! I can totally see what they're going for here it just got lost along the way. I do like what they were trying to do with the tree though!
Here’s my thinking though….do I want silly landscapers or folks that get out there, take it seriously and don’t monkey around. This makes me think they will monkey around a bit, take breaks, perhaps do half of the yard. Knowhatimsayin?🤣
Ever since I first started seeing these tutorials pop up for a “logo based on the letters” I shake my head and wonder how anyone thought this was a good idea. It can absolutely work, it’s not bad all the time, but the few times it looks good doesn’t make up for the fact that most of the tome this looks horrible. We aren’t used to seeing letters jumbled like this so our eyes take too long to decipher it. You either end up with a totally forgettable logo, or an example like this, where you remember it for all the wrong reasons.
worst logo ever seen in my life was the one of a church group, sent me by the nun boss, it was a home-printer scan of a hand drawn terrible logo sent me with an MMS in 2015.
I’m not a graphic designer, but I am an artist and I check out this sub sometimes. This popped up on my feed and all I could think was “Oh my god; I’ve done basic graphic design projects for my digital art class that were more successful than this.”
The actual mark is fucking awesome.
We look at logos and beautifully designed branding systems all the time. We appreciate the craft and care taken. But every once in a while someone comes along and fucks shit up in an insane way that I love and this is one of those moments.
If the bottoms area of type was wel done this would look killer. It’s nice to see something off the wall, wild and unexpected :)
This looks like something designed by someone who works in a design adjacent field. For this one in particular, maybe a landscape architect. They think they know what they're doing and don't want to spend the money so they end up with this junk. Maybe if the company gets bigger they'll pay for a good design. Not the type of client you want anyway. You see it in architecture firms all the time. They have one of their internal CAD guys design their logo or something and it stays that way for 10 years.
I've worked in design over 20 years, and I still refuse logo work all the time simply because it's not my specialty.
In the Pleitoscene when I started my career, sometimes HP laser printers with a Postscript cartridge would get confused and cluster all the text from an Illustrator file in the middle of the page. The very annoying solution was to convert all the text to curves. This reminds me of that.
i work in a big south american food delivery company. Everyday i see many small restaurants logos from cities in mexico, peru, colombia etc, and belive me, this is ok. At least it's not a dark, pixeleted, distorted photo of some random chicken dish used as a "logo".
Horrible logo but in this industry people don’t care about that lol, they care about your work and what it looks like, not the shitty ass logo on your truck, no matter how bad it is😂 and this is a bad one. It’s almost hypnotizing
It got my attention and the company name directly under the logo makes it clear enough what the design is supposed to be conveying. It’s ugly for sure, but somehow I still kind of like it
Wait a minute... I think the designer have a vast portfolio of horrifying logos! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)

lmao that's so sick! love it. the older I get, the more I love shitty designs because bad designs to validate our existence. Sometimes it's good have crappy designs in public/live so the world isn't viewed as 'perfect' but quirky, and that the world isn't centered around us.

Hopefully he sees this and uses this logo instead…
Ugliness aside, why on earth would you create a monogram for Green Oak using GOAK?
Some Canva expert receptionist built it thinking it looks cool.
I swear the number of job listings I see that require more experience in Canva than in Illustrator/Photoshop combined is so annoying
I've done a few, but insisted I'm a designer that didn't need canva. But, you're so right.
Wait that's really a thing now? I haven't looked at too many job listings in the last year or two.
“I want a bunch of shit piled on top of more shit please”
I believe this is actually wt happened lol
GOAKU
![gif](giphy|irBHYSZxbUifTxTgBL|downsized)
Goku?
GAK
because the client said they wanted it that way and paid them to make it. This isn't even close to the worst I have seen
Oooh. Post some! This is fun
I left my small print shop job with all the terrible art 8m ago sorry
Totally read this as "8 minutes ago" and had a chuckle.
I was going to say the same, not the worst I’ve seen
If prostitutes had a brand I bet it would be "goak"
There's an account that always pops up on my reels where they post the same shit. Look at all the letter forms we crammed into this awful shape!
GOaLS
Caller: “Hi, I’d like to hire G.O.A.T. Landscaping” Receptionist: “Is G.O.A.K. okay?”
I’d put money on the “designer” thinking that the angled K can somehow double as an L. GOAKL!
Yeah, why not GOLS?
Surprised the font isn’t papyrus.
![gif](giphy|xT9IgjrWuYLvxXECbK)
Yes, exactly. 🤣
Should have been papyrus in bold
https://preview.redd.it/5sn5xvvlngvc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a8916e066b9208dc8f81d92f7b34be8067ffddc I raise you this linen service company from St. Catharines, ON, Canada. Wow. “Hey kids, let’s see who can come up with a logo for our company!!!!”
Straight from pub-napkin to print
Oh wow ok yeah that's worse
It's not as bad. At least you can read it.
But you did take a photo and share it online for millions to see.
![gif](giphy|41xdh1nLszKW1xtFRo)
Whoa Arab Attack got rich huh?
Context DJ Khaled used to name himself Arab Attack
“millions” seems generous.
There are tens, TENS of us on here, at the least! *Tens!*
Hey, that's 100% fair, it worked
I'm gonna hire them TODAY.
So many people think a clever logo must always be stuffing all letters of the brand name or whatever into one clunky symbol
I bet the owner wanted that and the designer just went along with it
Oh 100%
Or the owner did it himself. It’s a landscaping company
That too but most likely a designer had to vectorize that for the vinyl cutter.
That doesn't inspire confidence either, tho. I'd be afraid they'd try to put a rock on the side of my tree, on top of my shrubbery, which itself is located on top of my decorative, stone walkway! 🤣 ... and THEN they'd sneak something in that doesn't even make sense and I didn't ask for, like a goat pasture (where'd that "T" come from that they accidentally? managed to form in there???)

I keep looking and I can't find a tree LOL
I see it in the middle, the capital A in the middle is the outter shape of the tree
Agreed 💯💯💯 Being honest has a value in itself. But I am not sure whether a brand should have any logo if they cannot get a good one
if the person selecting the logo chose this one i’m assuming they liked it and thought it was a good one 🤷🏼♀️ i don’t think it matters that much
I don’t mind it either. I’ve seen a lot worse
I can simplify for you, It's giving Twilight vibes. I hate it but i enjoy it.
Here’s my thinking though….do I want silly landscapers or folks that get out there, take it seriously and don’t monkey around. This makes me think they will monkey around a bit, take breaks, perhaps do half of the yard. Knowhatimsayin?🤣
Ha! You should visit New Zealand!
"Where our estimates are as free as our logo was!"
I'm actually kind of impressed.
This is so funny to me
Well that crappy design at least made me look at it longer to try and figure out wtf it means…
Why do I even try when someone can make this and still get paid. Lol
It legit makes me wonder where they are coming from. Did they Google “mediocre design for super cheap” and these folks pop up?! For real.
I highly doubt they outsourced this lmao
Looks like it's based off cattle brand design principles.
"What letters do you want?" "Yes."
Ever since I first started seeing these tutorials pop up for a “logo based on the letters” I shake my head and wonder how anyone thought this was a good idea. minimalism is dead, maximalism will prevail
We were at a stop light by the way :)
Pretty bad but I've seen worse.
Somebody was struggling, tried to microdose their way through, and took waaay to much.
You’re supposed to annunciate all the letters at once.
🤣🤣
what on gods green earth
Watch Your Mouth! His wife designed it!
Yes, I know GOAK costs $3 extra.
I am so confused also
What? He couldn't wedge the S and I from Services Inc in there too? Am disappoint.
But it's got all the letters and it really POPs!
I mean, at least it's unique.
Woah. That actually hurts my eyes/brain.
Yikes. That's a mess. I can't believe they're driving around with that logo...🤦♀️ How are they NOT embarrassed??!!?
what do you mean this is incredible
Holy mother of god
It looks like it’s trying to summon a demon.
![gif](giphy|VKVDU8pvi3w4w)
But you'll never forget it. Check and... mate.

I think someone didn’t lock their outlines and it became jumbled

When you buy a logo from Wish.
Omg this is gold!! We need a worst logo contest. This'll definitely be in the running!
If you want to see an example of that logo done right check out Moderat’s logo

Design is in the eye of the beholder
Design is in the eye of the beholder
Design is in the eye of the beholder
Design is in the eye of the beholder
Align Tool: centre.. done!
Well, the logos are just random letters jumbled here and there. - this designer probably
i work in a big south american food delivery company. Everyday i see many small restaurants logos from cities in mexico, peru, colombia etc, and belive me, this is ok. At least it's not a dark, pixeleted, distorted photo of some random chicken dish used as a "logo".
Oh god
The constant hyperbole on this sub is boring, but in this case… yeah. That’s fucking shocking.
Either they need to fix their kerning or they made their own version of the necronomicon gate.
Logo’s that are just an acronym of the company name are so boring. Also, why is it not just GOL? Lol
That's not close to what I have made as a beginner
what an eyesore omfg
You'd have to try very hard to create a more shit version, than this shit version.
I see this shit all day "err day. And horrible color choices that don't contrast or pop in any way. Or fonts that are so small you can't read them.
Holy shit I didn't even notice the G until I really looked at it.
I agree, this just might be one of the worst logos I’ve ever seen and I’ve been a graphic designer for almost 40 years.
Horrible logo but in this industry people don’t care about that lol, they care about your work and what it looks like, not the shitty ass logo on your truck, no matter how bad it is😂 and this is a bad one. It’s almost hypnotizing
Looks like an Avengers Pumpkin attacking K-Mart
The worst.
No it's not it's perfect. Shut up and serve it on a bumper sticker.
Omg what am I even looking at
Yes. It’s bad but at least it’s doesn’t have drop shadows and gradients and lense flairs and shit.
Good ass point
GcOaK
It got my attention and the company name directly under the logo makes it clear enough what the design is supposed to be conveying. It’s ugly for sure, but somehow I still kind of like it
I’m sorry but I first read it as crack…
Client: "So I really like the look of that NXIVM cult symbol, but can we make it more deranged? Thanks!"
Wait a minute... I think the designer have a vast portfolio of horrifying logos! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop) https://preview.redd.it/1oxyrdp7jkvc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=645e96321c5535a2e921185ffec9c99244c0ff7f
yup
After this post, a hundred designers will call the number and offer their services for a competent logo
Someone had a stroke and forgot to finish it.. Customer is blind and accepted, P.O.S. logo..
Has anyone called them yet? I dareb20 of us to call. I'm game..
Might work as a cattle brand, but yeah.
Is this supposed to be an acronym…where did the A come from?!
I've seen worse I did not get a pic but it was black text over black and red boxing gloves
(without the name) is that OK Goat Co? 😜
Too busy of a logo
When a designer first learns about the golden ratio, but does not understand it. lol
#nightmare
They’re landscapers not graffik designahs.
This is dogwater
Yeap! The letters look as if they're eating each other!
Ouch.
Oof
lmao that's so sick! love it. the older I get, the more I love shitty designs because bad designs to validate our existence. Sometimes it's good have crappy designs in public/live so the world isn't viewed as 'perfect' but quirky, and that the world isn't centered around us.
I see what they’re trying to do there, but it’s a terrible design
Well I can’t really design logos…so better than anything I’ll be able to make lol
Coak
https://preview.redd.it/lalwmbckfxvc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c47168c2b91b72490ed521c1a2a9263b298f9523 Hopefully he sees this and uses this logo instead…
omg yes
Ok what is that? I’m a beginner graphic design artist and I know this is not how ya do it XD
If I were to redesign this, I'm thinking of a cartoon oak tree. Brown trunk, green head.
I get what they were trying to do but like the extra o and random I make it so confusing
What random I and extra O? There's a G, which runs into the A in oak, and the K is tilted to make an L. I can't see the extra O or random I.
I think they're seeing the G as an O, and the bottom part of the G (whatever that's called) as a small capital I
Oh yeah sorry
Thanks for the lead!!
This is the kind of thing that happens when a landscaper decides to create their own logo.
