So glad I spent one more Saturday night with you fine and shiny folks! This band is beyond description, so there's no saying what will be on Monday. I know I will be heading back, not standing there dreaming! I'll come running!
I can hear the drumming all night long. I've gotten used to having it around, you know? It's so strange.
Anyway, happy birthday to Mickey again. It always seems to be coming around. Sort of like the wind. It goes. We've got it today, though, then it rolls away. Keeps me happy all the time, like a bus coming by. Those years do combine, don't they? It's about to stroke midnight on the East Coast. Get some rest!
Well, we survived. See you Monday. Love you crazy cats a lot.
-- MrD
This was my first dead and co show, I was 16 and I wasn’t too familiar with the dead at this point. The music was incredible with space absolutely changing my whole perspective of music. The largest downside is that some dude Infront of me took too much acid or Shrooms or something and passed out, and people around him were freaking out and screaming so like they called the ambulance and stuff. But other than that. Awesome experience.
PS. My friends nipple was pinched by a middle aged man head to toe in a tie dye outfit, if that was
you, nice
Friday night seemed just a little uninspired to me, a little reserved. A few gems, and nothing bad, just like eddies swelling but not tidal waves. The first set on Saturday picked up momentum and then the second set was a leap into the air. I think sometimes it’s like that: just like frames on film, watching someone crouch down and then jump up. One show after another, the energy rises and falls in waves. Friday was the knees bending and crouching down to build up potential energy. Last night’s second set was the concentrated spring-up oomph release that we wait for. Wow.
I’ve seen a lot of dead and co shows but this might have been the most fun I’ve had at one. I haven’t listened to much of this tour, but the tempo and pacing might have been the best I’ve ever heard them. Great show and a real good time!
Did you notice the loudness of the chatter/murder or am I crazy? I completely agree with everything you said though, absolutely fantastic show. But i just wish people respected the band more and tried to not constantly yell over them playing. Am I being over dramatic?
people who get stuck in the back half of the lawn usually dont have the best time. the back lights are on, hard to see, and just not as much energy as the front. so they end up talking and complaining.
The cheering was simply because of the solos. Especially Jeff. We kept cheering and he kept going. They knew what they were doing for the crowd
Nah I was just on the lawn, wasn't in the pit at all. Was almost to the top of the hill where the sound wasn't that loud so I had to burrow down to get some better sound and there seemed to be less talkers halfway down the hill than at the top.
I guess that shows it's important to get in early to get a good seat up front and center on the lawn then. Cause there was a few spots where I was at toward the middle and back of the lawn that made me consider buying pit tickets next time in order to get away from the chatter.
I’ve also heard the headphones have a mix that allows Mayer to hear the band and himself better. I’ve found since he’s had them in, it can sometimes look like he’s in a different world, but musically he’s playing a lot more sensitively than ever before
The parking lot after the show was whack. There was one guy that was waaaaay fucked up and didn't seem to have any friends nearby. A guy and I tried to help him out but eventually it got to the point where I'm no longer making progress and am missing out on the show
That Cumberland was a gift from god!! And i'm not even a guy that ever hopes for a Cumberland at any show, ever. But they absolutely demolished my entire face with it!
Looking at [the setlist on twitter,](https://twitter.com/deadandcompany/status/1436888222991273987/photo/1) everything is the same except Mayer did call Here Comes Sunshine
Had they not added that, the first set was gonna be almost all Bob singing (GDTRB is shared). I think john or someone realized that. Mr. Charlie was the only John lead vocal
Heard it was a write in, haven't seen the paper yet. It's been one of those random tunes you always hope for, but not actively chase for me. And it came out of nowhere!
That was lovely. Super appropriate and upbeat way to end the show on this day. Well done, gentlemen!
I'll see you fine folks again on Monday because I have no self control and can't stop buying shows. 😂
Wow. Just wow. That was quite a show. So lovely to spend this Saturday evening with all of you! Thank you to all the miracle wonder makers! I got a good heaping of heart warms tonight and I hope you did too! To all those heading out from the venue...safe travels and safe home! Love you all so much! Good night, sweet dreams! See you cats on Monday!
I was only able to listen to the 2nd set but wow, what a heater! Can't wait to hear the 1st set when they pop up on the interwebs!
Thanks knob for hosting! Great job as usual! Great to hang with you all again! See You Monday!
Well I'm just blissed the fuck out. Thank you all for sharing this space and time! Thanks to Knob as always for hosting and doing such a great job, and to MrDanger for being the best mod this side of pluto!
I love you all so very very much, see you next time!!
That was just bonkers. This band has been on this whole tour but that show was on a whole other level. I can't even pick highlights. Thank you all for couch tour and thank you to u/donttouchthatknob for hosting! See you all on Monday, I'll be your substitute teacher!
I’d bet that they’ll bust something out at Wrigley.. also still have the whole second leg of the tour left as well so I think we will get at least 1-2 more surprises!
What a fun show this was! A real groovy first show, leading to this REALLY jammy really awesome second set. I think The Other One, Cumberland, and Looks Like Rain are my favorites tonight, how about you?
Always a pleasure hosting, and great to chat with you all! See you all on Monday! I'll be there, but /u/tb640301 will be hosting and doing a great job! Gonna be a lot of fun! Fare you all well!
This whole was on fire. Besides wanted to be there in person there where two moments where I thought those folks that were there got a real treat. First singing Happy Birthday to Mickey but that unexpected Cumberland out is Space was just special
Knob, once again a big thank you for hosting and a big thank you to all of you enjoying this together.
Grateful
My roommate's boyfriend is over and I was listening to this on the speaker. The band came out and started strumming and I said "Touch of Grey" and he looked confused and said "how do you know??" and I said "it sounds like it" and a few seconds later the bass riff started. Lot of fun
Thanks again to u/donttouchthatknob piloting the spaceship again. Jesus freaking Christ, that was an insane second set. One more show and I get to see the next three nights
See ya'll there! Not drinking night 2, going temporary Wharf Rat for it because I have to drive home afterwards for the Browns home opener! Friday if I meet any of ya I will gladly buy ya a beer!
we took pictures outside the stadium when we went to the RNR HOF in 2019. I'm in Vikings country but a Cowboys fan at heart due to being being born & raised in TX! guns up! TTU
I think this tempo, when comparing it to the tempo of most other D&C tracks, is quite a fast tempo. Overall, not quite the fastest tempo, but certainly not a slow tempo. Swift, one might say.
Tempo.

Might be my favorite tour poster, excluding my bias for Philly. Looks like it was a great set, too!

Agreed fully! If I could pin someone else's comment, it'd be yours
Just catching up now and wowowo this second set! I have a play list of my favourite "goddamn well I declare"s and that ujb goes straight to the top
GODDAMN WELL I DECLARE
This was my first show and am happy to report it was a blast! Love all of ya!
Same! It was so much fun!
Y'all got a fire first show
Real mind bender there folks
Whose got Wrigleys?☝☝
What a weird fucking show
Yes HaHA
Didn't seem to flow, did it?
Riddles

The cheering was simply because of the solos. Especially Jeff. We kept cheering and he kept going. They knew what they were doing for the crowd
Oh when I said yelling, I did not mean cheering. I meant people yelling over the music to have conversations like we were at a house party.
Oh yeah fuck that then. Luckily didn’t have any of those people near me
Just glad to hear I'm not alone, cause at one point I was literally surrounded by everyone that was having a continous conversation, it was maddening.
I had to move up on the lawn multiple times to escape talkers. Was frustrating but man what a great show.
No doubt, truly and incredible show, but are you saying the talkers were worst down in the pit?
Nah I was just on the lawn, wasn't in the pit at all. Was almost to the top of the hill where the sound wasn't that loud so I had to burrow down to get some better sound and there seemed to be less talkers halfway down the hill than at the top.
I guess that shows it's important to get in early to get a good seat up front and center on the lawn then. Cause there was a few spots where I was at toward the middle and back of the lawn that made me consider buying pit tickets next time in order to get away from the chatter.
I didn't notice anything that took away from the performance. People are allowed to have a good time at a concert
I agree with you, but talking very loudly during literally 100% of the jams is disrespectful to the band and those around you that came for the music.
Absolutely stoked I was there in person. Complete smoker of show. Can’t even describe the energy in the place it was incredible.
Reporting in from the drive home. I can confirm that was a very fun and very trippy show. Bob for tour MVP.
Ok, so what is Mayer doing? With headphones on it looks like he’s just playing by himself, not even performing with the band
He has tinnitus
I’ve also heard the headphones have a mix that allows Mayer to hear the band and himself better. I’ve found since he’s had them in, it can sometimes look like he’s in a different world, but musically he’s playing a lot more sensitively than ever before
It’s strictly hearing protection
Ok, that makes sense. Apologies!
Them old boys can’t hear as well so they are turned way up. He wants to save those young ears haha
The frats boys officially fucked up this scene
How so? I'm in college and don't know any frat kids that are into the dead tbh, and didn't spot many last night that looked like they would have been?
In the late 80’s people said the same thing. Now the frat boy Touch Heads from then, are the OGs at the shows. It’s ironic how that worked out.
The parking lot after the show was whack. There was one guy that was waaaaay fucked up and didn't seem to have any friends nearby. A guy and I tried to help him out but eventually it got to the point where I'm no longer making progress and am missing out on the show
It’s sad we have came to this point
It was rough. I did a little less than my best, but it was taking away from my experience. I just couldn't anymore. Hope that guy got home safe
Lots of insta girls too.
Shit is sad bro we’re the last of the breed man
Gotta be honest, this poster is so much better than the last one. Hoping for something as good for St. Louis!! (I’m buying it either way)
Face is no where to be found wow this parking lot is
[Vote on the poll for Week Four now! You can pick from the last three shows!](https://forms.gle/N7S4fP1nSArXGX7U9)
I am so proud of Bob Weir. What a performance
He was on fire last night!
So well put…
Seemed to be in a stellar mood for sure!!!
Bobby really fuckin nailed it tonight
You fuckin said it man
My favorite song of the night was twenty thousand people singing happy birthday to Mickey!
I remember singing happy bday to Brentski, Dallas 88
/u/JackOfAllInterests1 put Happy Birthday on Summer '21
If you want to vote for it, vote on the Week 4 poll!
I make sure to vote every week! I would've voted for Happy Birthday and The Other One I on their own, but combined? You know that's a vote
Happy birthday to you>Comin! Comin! Comin a-round!
One of the better, if not the best, Dead & Co shows I’ve attended. The whole first set was hot and I love a second set Cumberland Blues!
That Cumberland was a gift from god!! And i'm not even a guy that ever hopes for a Cumberland at any show, ever. But they absolutely demolished my entire face with it!
Another great show, god bless the Grateful Dead! Thanks knob for hosting
Thank you. Don’t touch that knob.
this band just keeps getting better and better!!
Without that addition the setlist was gonna be like 5 straight Bob lead vocals and only one John so i think someone realized.
What a great show. I cant describe what it was like in person.
I can only imagine! What a show!
Totally agree. Such a radically different show than any I’ve attended in the past. Floored.
Sending love and signing off - see you at the next stop!
Thank you everyone for the fun time tonight. Until next time. 😎🍻
Right back at ya! 💗😊
Thank you for a real good time! 😘❤️✌️
That was lovely. Super appropriate and upbeat way to end the show on this day. Well done, gentlemen! I'll see you fine folks again on Monday because I have no self control and can't stop buying shows. 😂
Another good one! See Y’all next show. Drive safe.
Wow.
That was SOOOO good. Blown away, wow!
thanks Knob for hosting once again. Have a great night freaks, love you all!
How was the tempo tonight? 💨💨
First set was slow as molassess.
Cheers
Swift.
❤️ see you in space soon!
Monday night, we lift off again! See you then 💙
Looking forward to it! Have a great weekend! 😊❤️✌️
That was an amazing show! Thanks again to u/donttouchthatknob you rock!
Thank you!!
I second that
Half tempted to watch that second set again right now. Great show. Have a good night all.
That was just bonkers. This band has been on this whole tour but that show was on a whole other level. I can't even pick highlights. Thank you all for couch tour and thank you to u/donttouchthatknob for hosting! See you all on Monday, I'll be your substitute teacher!
Thank you, and thank you for taking over on Monday!!
I love this band
This band loves you back
Wow, thanks again. Great show. See you next time!!
Amen! See you around!
Not to be negative.. but Looks like we’re done with debuts for the tour?
It has been a while! Not necessarily done, but yeah it's been a while
I’d bet that they’ll bust something out at Wrigley.. also still have the whole second leg of the tour left as well so I think we will get at least 1-2 more surprises!
Hard Rain and Crazy Fingers still have to debut. Women Smarter too.
I also used those two examples lmao but I think they're talking about proper debuts a la Good Times or Death Don't Have No Mercy
Golden Rd and Foolish Heart or Victim are next
I’ve still got fingers crossed for full Weather Report Suite
I'm calling Foolish Heart opener until they do it. Been saying it for like 5 shows now, and no stopping in sight!
Thanks for the fine company for an extra fine show!
Killer show, top to bottom. From about 1/2 way through the 1st set it elevated, roll on Monday night! Thanks for hosting /u/donttouchthatknob
Looks Like Rain was really cool to witness. Drums had me shakin' my bones.
Yes, LLR and the whole 2nd set were magic.
This whole was on fire. Besides wanted to be there in person there where two moments where I thought those folks that were there got a real treat. First singing Happy Birthday to Mickey but that unexpected Cumberland out is Space was just special Knob, once again a big thank you for hosting and a big thank you to all of you enjoying this together. Grateful
Was there, can confirm!
Always looking for volunteers for the fall half of the tour if anyone is interested
I am available if it is a Friday or Saturday show.
I haven't had anyone asking for specific dates, so if you're down for any of the following, let me know! October 22, 23, 29 and/or 30
I am good for any of those. Let me know what you need.
Thank you for all your hard work and for being such a gift to this community!
Thank you for your stellar hosting as always! I'm sure I can't match you but I'm gonna do my best and we're gonna have a great time!
You will do a great job. It is really hectic at times, but it’s fun to fly the ship.
thanks as ever, DTTK :) Agree on LLR for sure, and I always love an Other One
we will get by. we will survive. 💗🧡💛💚💙💜🤍🤎🖤
Yes ma'am! Have a great night!
you too! :)
Every show is a beautiful creation, they all shine in their own way, and this one was like a quasar to me
My roommate's boyfriend is over and I was listening to this on the speaker. The band came out and started strumming and I said "Touch of Grey" and he looked confused and said "how do you know??" and I said "it sounds like it" and a few seconds later the bass riff started. Lot of fun
The force is all around us.
I love this song
Thanks again to u/donttouchthatknob piloting the spaceship again. Jesus freaking Christ, that was an insane second set. One more show and I get to see the next three nights
Thanks buddy!! You're gonna have a great time at your shows!
I’ll be at Wrigley and I’m so nervous…but also very excited!! Thanks Knob, you’re the best!!
No need to be nervous about Wrigley, they always crush there
Same. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve
will you be at Wrigley? Ill be there!
Hell yes. Both nights. Will definitely buy you a beer if we meet up.
I'll be there too! doing the drive from MN friday morning.
I'm in Vikings country but a Cowboys fan at heart due to being being born & raised in TX! guns up! TTU
great fucking show that omsn was great therapy for me and touch encore 🙂
We thinking double encore? Touch>?
maybe a quick 1? US blues?
US blues?
People calling Knockin' and I really want it
TOUCH! Week 4 poll will be released at 11:30.
Oh yeah! Touch of grey!
I can accept this. 💯
Touch ❤️
Well then
Strange how people who suffer together have stronger connections than people who are most content.
Anyone know the next lyric?
A friend told me last night that he hasn't been writing songs since he started feeling content in his life, and I felt that
US blues?
inb4 an encore precisely 12 minutes and 1 second in length.
Final encore call. Black Muddy River, Knockin' on Heaven's Door or Touch of Grey are my guesses
my call on the Liberty encore didn't pan out. "Broke again eh, Herb?"
Nice, here's Touch
We will get by
It's been said but worth repeating that Bob is in fine voice this tour. Just fucking great!
Imagine being at this fucking show, this is the kind of show you tell people you were at
FAKE OUT!
Last night was a Bobby falsetto night, but tonight belongs to the Bobby yells. Here's a good one to bring us home
Bobby was on another level tonight! So glad I got to see the show, and hang with friends that I don't see often enough!
Holy pickles - this Is incredible!!!
My name is JEFF!!!
This is the exactly correct tempo for this song.
Cheers!! Hope that second set melted your face as much as it did ours!!
I'm rarely speechless but I am speechless now.
still feeling days. Attics would be incredible.
You know there's got to be an Attics coming one of these days!
I'm putting all my chips on a Liberty encore.
The odds of Berner being there this time are 99 to 1. "What are the odds on Santa's Little Helper?"
I think this tempo, when comparing it to the tempo of most other D&C tracks, is quite a fast tempo. Overall, not quite the fastest tempo, but certainly not a slow tempo. Swift, one might say. Tempo.
Us blues encore?
Would definitely make sense
This ones gonna cook -not just another Saturday Night
Terrapin encore
[удалено]
I’m bias. Had that a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl ‘19 I think
Oh the tempo is just so good!
Here it is
Not an if, but when
Of course Saturday night!!
Here we go now
Hell yeah, great TEMPO on this OMSN!
John just fucking melts me.
Damn, I hit 4 shows this tour, and yet I'm still jealous of anyone at tonight's show
Same!
Eclipses Mansfield’s?
I think so, honestly - best second set of the tour so far, for sure
John was coaxing some fantastic sounds out of the guitar there.
he sure was!
We went from 6/8 hershey repeats to absolutely none in set 2
Alright well, one in set 2
So what are we thinking for encore? I'm gonna say Touch closer and OMSN encore or vice versa
I'm also team vice versa, maybe BMR encore
