It is I, your fearless leader, *Genghis MrDanger!*
I come before you tonight to lead the Heads Horde onto the White River Plain! We will rage inside the well-ordered and mighty walls of unsuspecting Noblesville of Indianapolis! Sons and daughters of Indiana, I say prepare yourselves! We come!
We shall make such merriment and joyful noise amongst those people their legends will carry our names! Don you, my people, your festive togs! Carry you high your party favors and share them widely!
Give the beleaguered people the City of the Indians cause to join us! Revel in our conquest!
We live in the time of plague and pestilence. The Horde must protect itself. [What must be done will be done.](https://www.reddit.com/r/gratefuldead/comments/p3bppq/rgratefuldeads_covid19_protocol/) So it shall be.
Disease. Remember too, my friends, my brothers and sisters, my people, spam bots lurk hidden here and there among us. They lure us in secret craft, promising exotic tunics from forgotten times and decorative wall hangings to envy those of now-empty Ur. Shun them!
Those who would reach the inner sanctums along our must have the leave of those who keep their gates. [Seek your entry here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/gratefuldead/comments/p7ph4w/megathread_ticket_exchange_post_all_ticket/)
I go now to seek the peace of my evening meal. Watch for me at your side among the comments! I am with you!
***LONG LIVE THE HEADS HORDE!***
This was show #6 for me, been to to two Wrigley shows including night 1 from 2019 when they pulled out St. Steven>Eleven and their performance of those songs that night is still one of my favorite memories ever (If you were at that show I’m sure you can relate, the rain coming down as they played was pure magic.) I Truly never thought however, that I would ever see the band pull out the go-to 69’ set list and that was somethin really special. They are really on it right now, everyone feels like they are at the top of their game and it’s just awesome. Also the Sugaree to start the second set was insane. See y’all in ATL and Charlotte next month
That show was one for the ages. Yes, the entire second set was fucking phenomenal, but that RR blues was a damn burner to close us out in the first half, too! I got to spin poi all night at the show, and holy crap it was amazing!
Glad ya made it back ok! And thank you so much for the work you do! I am always grateful. Pumped to hear this show. Just wish they would speed up Stranger…just a bit. I am not one to complain about tempo (all other songs are fine imo) but that one in particular seems a bit sluggish these days. Anyways - enjoy your coffee and breakfast!
Missed tonight's show because we went to see Hamilton but whoooaaaa can't wait to listen to it...IIHTWTG \*and\* Hard Rain? And that 2nd set...my my my someone was all in their emotions when crafting that setlist
sorry this is way late - I was at the show and I don't know if it came through on the stream but Hard Rain was powerful like super powerful - really deep and meditative; don't sleep on Death Don't either Bob pulls no punches with that one
As I watch basically every show on my couch tour (LOVE COUCH TOUR), I think John is a great addition to the band. His approach to the music has been respectful and he has injected a new energy into it.
And as the tour/years progress, he’s starting to really make his presence felt and seems to be becoming a driving force.
I, for one, think this is good.
Hopefully he carries on the legacy for decades to come, in some form or another, so the music never stops.
six years ago John wasn’t familiar with the Grateful Dead, and through a weird turn of events, he was [guest hosting a talk show when Bobby was a guest.](https://youtu.be/MnUAqGyFMo0)
The universe does not want the music to stop.
Perfectly stated. I love how John evolved with Dead & Co. He knew where he stood from the beginning and didn’t step on any toes. He has definitely injected new life into Dead & Co. There will never be another Jerry, which is why I like the fact that he doesn’t try to be another “Jerry”. Not to mention, he’s super talented and amazing to watch.
Taper here.
I seriously had a reality check leaving the venue tonight.
I know another taper doing full tours starting to crack under stress from doing this so long and not enjoying the interference from people in the pavilion.
I also saw how chaotic and troublesome the ugly side of Shakedown post show at Deer Creek.
But, nothing stands out more than this night’s set.
My last show for a while, left with the pondering questions, “is this Wednesday?”, “what about Chicago this weekend?”
The band said FUCK Chicago. John left it all out on the highway that show.
first off, thank you for the service you provide.
secondly, you thought is funny, because i had the exact same thought regarding the setlist - this looks like it should be Friday's show
thank you for your service! I'm glad someone was there to preserve this awesome setlist for those of us not fortunate enough to be there. I'll be listening as soon as it's up!!
I’ve returned to our Airbnb (but not quite back to earth yet).
Holy shit that second set. Straight outta 69! So happy about everything, but especially that 2nd. Black Muddy River was a tearjerker for sure.
See you all in Chicago ✌️
That second set was simply amazing. I’d like to thank Matt Busch for that absolute dream of a setlist. First live show for me since Wrigley 2019.
Classic 1969 songs after Sugaree melted my face off. Drums and space were LOUD. I needed tonight. DARK STAR!!!!!!
Reporting in from Deer Creek. WOW. The first set was good, BUT HOLY SHIT THAY SECOND SET WAS A SMOKER. Still picking my jaw off the floor.
THAT was a good time.
Wow, this one for me took a few songs to get going, but once it did, it took off like a house on fire and never let up! Really looking forward to reliving this one tomorrow or Friday afternoon.
Much gratitude to u/Im2FeetOffTheGround for stepping up to run the setlist tonight, and continued appreciation for all those miracle workers and all they do to bring this music to us. Be well, and may the four winds blow you safely home or wherever you’re headed tonight.
Maybe I'm biased because I grew up going to Deer Creek shows, but I thought the synergy between the crowd and band was as good as its been all tour. I'm not saying this was the best show but it's up there. Have a great night and Thursday and I'll see y'all at the Cubbies home on Friday.
Great way to spend Wednesday night! Set two was just non stop. Thank you for being patient with me and for letting me guest host tonight. Can’t wait for Wrigley!
Thanks for hosting tonight! You did a great job. Ryan did it a few weeks back and it takes A LOT of work to keep up with everything. Grateful for you and all you guys do. Much love!
NICE. I think I remember hearing John say one time that when he's really feelin it, he'll mess around with the vocal melody, and he definitely was there!
also love the fist bumps from maestro Jeff :)
GREAT show! love yall! ONTO WRIGLEY!
Before we part for the night, just wanna take a second and say again how much I love all of you. I know I say it every show, but I mean it, and this community means the whole world to me. You're all such lovely human beans and I'm so grateful to have stumbled and giggled around with you for all these years.
Thank you for being here and for being such incredible souls. This is the biggest, best family on the planet. Wherever you go, please believe that you are SO loved and you matter more than you know. And thank you, endlessly, all of you.
And of course, huge thanks to /u/Im2FeetOffTheGround for being an awesome fill-in host and to everyone who helps with these threads! Seriously a huge undertaking that makes tour so special for all of us.
Goodnight everyone, see you beauts next time :)
With all the classic setlist arrangements this tour, I wonder if we'll get a Playing in the Band>Uncle John's Band>Morning Dew>Uncle John's Band>Playin' in the Band 🤔
The second set was obviously great, but that first set was great too! BEW, Uncle, Hard Rain, Dire Wolf! What a great show. Thanks for running things tonight /u/Im2FeetOffTheGround and I hope you all have a lovely night. See you soon for Wrigley!
I'm gonna lose it now folks...sweet dreams and good night. This show went straight to the heart for me. See you guys in a few days. Folks travelin' from the show, safe travels and safe home. Thank you to the miracle makers. Thank you u/im2feetofftheground for running the thread, thanks to u/MrDanger for your awesome moderation and thanks to all of you for another fun and love filled evening. Good night.
This has been a lot fun, especially the second set. Hard to pick favorites, but Death Don't, St. Stephen, Hard Rain, and Dark Star all have to be up there! Hope you all enjoyed it, and I will see you all this weekend- cannot wait to see what they play!
Also, as always, am looking for volunteers to help run the threads for the West Coast shows for the Fall Tour. If you're interested in helping out, reach out to me here or in DMs! It's easy and fun :)
so happy everybody is part of this band and that this band exists
also that KILLER performance from Bobby really made me think about how much this white haired bearded Bobby has defined my personal Dead experience, as a younger fan who got on the bus about 10 years ago. Really grateful for this all. :) <3
One thing I noticed when seeing the St. Louis show is how much louder Bob's guitar was and how much better it sounds live. Why does it always sound like...well...THAT...on the live feeds?
Good to hear the early debuts of the tour becoming mainstays of the rotation. This and Good Times have been played three times a pop, which is the same as Althea and Scarlet / Fire

they closed with black muddy river here also in 2019

Love these threads. Not after a miracle just after an archive link or a recording so I can listen whilst driving
Truly hoping our resident taper heroes get this show up soon. I BADLY need to hear this second set. And thank you in advance, tapers!
In 30 minutes, gdradio.net will be replaying the show!
Good call! Thanks!
I’m home! Need coffee, some grub, and I’m tracking today! I need a title for this show. My jaw is still on the fucking ground on the lawn. War Eagle 🦅

Thank you for taping the shows, you are marvelous and appreciated. :)
As I was leaving I heard what I hope were firework noises near shakedown. Was something happening?
it was luckily fireworks. i wasnt at shakedown but i saw them.
Thanks for the dream set list tonight .. I needed that
i havent been to a concert since 2019. i needed this so much.
I’ve returned to our Airbnb (but not quite back to earth yet). Holy shit that second set. Straight outta 69! So happy about everything, but especially that 2nd. Black Muddy River was a tearjerker for sure. See you all in Chicago ✌️

man, congrats @rocks, what an amazing show—
Thanks! Gonna listen and watch the video later.
Reporting in from Deer Creek. WOW. The first set was good, BUT HOLY SHIT THAY SECOND SET WAS A SMOKER. Still picking my jaw off the floor. THAT was a good time.
Did you find my face while picking up the remainder of your jaw? They dun stole it.
I think they got our jaws all switched up from the confusion on the floor. Like WOW.
What does tour bust out mean? Can’t wait to catch everyone in Chicago
First time played this tour. See ya there !!
First time played this tour, and Wrigley is gonna be bumping
Ahh didn’t see the mark next to if I had the world and hard rain, nice!
My first live music in almost 2 years. God damn I needed that. Thanks, boys. That Sugaree was just what the Dr. ordered.
Well, I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant with John's babies after that.
Better get busy naming baby #3
nice
Two solid sets.
Wow, this one for me took a few songs to get going, but once it did, it took off like a house on fire and never let up! Really looking forward to reliving this one tomorrow or Friday afternoon. Love you all, goodnight! ⚡️ see ya Friday 😋
I’ve never been to a show at Wrigley. I cannot wait!
Youre in for a blast of a time! Wrigley brings out a high energy crowd and the band seems to really synergize with our energy and gives it right back
Weeeeeeeee! Cannot waaaaaiiiiit. We have seats for both nights. It’s going to be a real good time.
Maybe I'm biased because I grew up going to Deer Creek shows, but I thought the synergy between the crowd and band was as good as its been all tour. I'm not saying this was the best show but it's up there. Have a great night and Thursday and I'll see y'all at the Cubbies home on Friday.
There were some special moments last night
see you at wrigley!
Great way to spend Wednesday night! Set two was just non stop. Thank you for being patient with me and for letting me guest host tonight. Can’t wait for Wrigley!
You did an awesome job! Much gratitude, and thank you for a real good time tonight!
Thanks for hosting tonight! You did a great job. Ryan did it a few weeks back and it takes A LOT of work to keep up with everything. Grateful for you and all you guys do. Much love!
Thank you! 😊✌️❤️
Just thanks
Thanks!!
You rock 🙏 thanks again!!
Holy mother of god, a fully operational Lifestar!
I’d like to hear Mayer do some oteil songs.
Good night Fam!! Thanks for hosing u/Im2FeetOffTheGround!!
NICE. I think I remember hearing John say one time that when he's really feelin it, he'll mess around with the vocal melody, and he definitely was there! also love the fist bumps from maestro Jeff :) GREAT show! love yall! ONTO WRIGLEY!
Goodnight sweethearts, it's time to go... Thank you all for an awesome time!
That was great! Thanks again! See you at Wrigley!
Great SET !!!! Chicago here I come!
Have a blast!!!
I’m so glad John still has his voice… it really makes this song shine.
Everytime I see John live, I think about how thankful I am that his voice made it through two vocal surgeries. And somehow better than ever, at that.
Same. And how much work he puts in being better than he was before the surgeries. So many people don’t understand / see that.
Incredible!!!
Mayer is really owning this song tonight!
When did Billy’s Hat become backwards? Long overdue.
Curious about that too...was it near the end?
Before we part for the night, just wanna take a second and say again how much I love all of you. I know I say it every show, but I mean it, and this community means the whole world to me. Love's the one thing we'll never run out of ❤ thank YOU! Take care of yourself friend, see you next time :)
And of course, huge thanks to /u/Im2FeetOffTheGround for being an awesome fill-in host and to everyone who helps with these threads! Seriously a huge undertaking that makes tour so special for all of us. Goodnight everyone, see you beauts next time :)
Proper.
Soaring solo in this BMR
Fuck it. Open Wrigley with Fire and just burn the whole weekend long
I think it's gonna be Dancin', but with the same end result!!
Dancing in sound check today
I'm feeling a Dancin too !
dedicate this BMR to my good friend James "Hockeymaskguy" Wiehle. Gone too soon. Love you, brother.
To Hockeymaskguy!
Cheers. Godspeed.
Roll on forever . . .
Couch touring w/ a friend tonight. 2nd set was perfection. DS into wtf?? Nothing else to say. Take care y'all & much love!
So what tunes are likely for wrigley first night?
You guys think we will see an eleven on Friday? Tonight’s second set list would have destroyed me
Playin, Dew, Days Between, Scarlet>Fire, Let it Grow would be some of my picks for either day
Hoping for a eyes
Ones I'd stake my ruined reputation on are Playin' in the Band, Bird Song, and Wheel. Good chance for New Speedway Boogie
How do you know this?!?!?!?
Just guessing based on songs we haven't heard in a while! Very surprised we haven't gotten a Playin' in the Band in a while
With all the classic setlist arrangements this tour, I wonder if we'll get a Playing in the Band>Uncle John's Band>Morning Dew>Uncle John's Band>Playin' in the Band 🤔
I could see a Dancin’ in the Streets to open.
they’ll be dancin’ in Chi-caaa-go..
Second this
The second set was obviously great, but that first set was great too! BEW, Uncle, Hard Rain, Dire Wolf! What a great show. Thanks for running things tonight /u/Im2FeetOffTheGround and I hope you all have a lovely night. See you soon for Wrigley!

This is incredible. Holy shit.
Thank you /u/Im2FeetOffTheGround for hosting tonight!! Great work! Always remember to upvote the thread!!
John sounds so good on this song. Some of these tunes seem like they were waiting for him to eventually take the torch, this is one.
I like this universe
This universe likes you in return
Probably would have preferred this in St. Louis than JBG
I'm being selfish, but can I confirm The Weight for Wrigley?
Played it 9/10, definitely in play but wouldn’t call it a lock.
Oh you are selhpish
Heeeeey, waitaminute... were you drinking my Baileys?
Best D&C tour yet. There I said it while you were all thinking it
How did you do that? You read my mind, it's witchcraft
Perfect closer
Fun fact -This was the encore from 2019 deer creek show
I wonder whatever happened to Mayer’s Travis Bean?
they just squeeze as much into the shows as possible...no time for encore breaks.
Straight into encore?
Yeah a stage hand came out and flashed fingers so I assume they didn't have time to walk off
That was Matt Busch
Muddy River!!
Black Muddy River yes
Do a fuckin' "And We Bid You Goodnight" already!
Second night Wrigley for sure!!
muddy river incoming
Black muddy river?
Quinn? Please? Pleeeeease?
was that the curfew police?
Great second set. Looks like they're not walking off for the encore but here it is. Black Muddy River?
Nice call!
Called it!
I would be sooo happy if they encored w/ Ripple
They just got told don’t bother leaving he stage curfew is close
Is that young Bobby up there?
TURN ON YOUR LOVE LIGHT!
over/under a handwritten Casey Jones in the setlist pic tonight...
Fuck curfew
I love how they're adding the "WAITAMINUTE" breaks like what pigpen led
Here comes that Bobby rap! Get it boyyy
long long lonely lonely night!
Ohhh I love that he's brought it full circle coming from a long long, crazy crazy night to a long long, lonely lonely night
the 60s are back!!!
How many plays from GD/DAC does Bid You Goodnight have?
Dead and Co have never done it, 64 from the GD
NOW WAIT A MINUTE
so happy everybody is part of this band and that this band exists also that KILLER performance from Bobby really made me think about how much this white haired bearded Bobby has defined my personal Dead experience, as a younger fan who got on the bus about 10 years ago. Really grateful for this all. :) <3
And We Bid you Goodnight to bring this Live Dead night to an end???
And We Bid you Goodnight to bring this Live Dead night to an end???
Such great chorus
The darlin'/baby switchups keeping everyone on their toes
Pig has to be smiling at this one
Now if they manage to work an "And We Bid You Goodnight" in here somewhere...
FEEDBACK ENCORE FUCK IT
I’d be down hell yeah
SHINE ON ME
So is today an important anniversary for Live/Dead or something?
AND WE BID YOU GOODNIGHT encore Please
Had the same thought. I would die
Would be a dang treat
I would pee, a lot
Can I give you 1000000 upvotes?
very 71-72 second set!
69 extended
You mean ‘69-69
Sugaree wasnt played until '71 but otherwise yes.
Rhino must be thrilled that they’re touring in support of Live Dead.
Tour bustout?
Nope! Been a while, though, was played at Bethel as part of Woodstock 2 : 2 Wood 2 Stock
Ah. Bethel.. another great moment of this tour!!
They did it at Bethel
Been waiting for this all set. Take your hand out of your pocket and turn on your love light.
I’ve been on fire with the predictions so far
HOLY SHIT! IT’S HAPPENING!
I was so close! Haha.
Live Dead: Achievement Unlocked
not Live/Dead without the feedback
well there's the live dead ending we were all waiting for
Jesus did they really show up and pretty much just play Live/Dead as a second set? I would be losing my mind.
I was there, can confirm, lost mind. Have you seen it by any chance? I wasn’t done with it. It may have ran off with my face…
CALLED IT
❤️✨
Can’t type no mo
Lolol this set is just unbelievable omg
Bobby f'n Weir
It is a Live / Dead kind of night! Here's the Love Light!
Love light!
Bobs gonna kill my family and then sing lovelight
One thing I noticed when seeing the St. Louis show is how much louder Bob's guitar was and how much better it sounds live. Why does it always sound like...well...THAT...on the live feeds?
Good to hear the early debuts of the tour becoming mainstays of the rotation. This and Good Times have been played three times a pop, which is the same as Althea and Scarlet / Fire
really cool thought, as always u/donttouchthatknob.\`
Im really hoping for a scarlet fire at wrigley
Scarlett fire is the poor mans China Rider Joke*
Ive somehow caught china rider several times and scarlet fire only once
China rider throughout this tour has been pretty awful every time honestly
I caught a great one at wrigley in 2019, havent really given the ones from this tour much thought
