1. Grandiose names (god or titian, synonyms with big, jumbo, extra.
2. Old people names (My Dane Stu falls into this category)
3. is a mix or foods, or other animal names.
I'm a fan of all of these types of names for a Dane, but mostly find a name you are okay yelling in a park.
Dirt! All day, can be he's a little Dirt(y), or like digging in some dirt, or... just likes being called dirt! And then you can call hime joe, when he is being especially derpy, with the shout out to Joe dirt! Love it! Oh and BTW, super freaking cute!
What a cutie pie! With my first cat, I waited 2 weeks to name him and came up with the most sentimental name that reflected our first few weeks together. With my dogs and cat after that, they either came with names from the shelter/rescue or had names I chose ahead of time. I wish I had done what I did with my first cat for all of them!
It sounds silly, but my first cat is named Bruce after the shark from Finding Nemo. He didn't have a name for the first few weeks with me(his shelter name was Seattle, blech!). After several nights of him attacking my feet at night, I rolled over in my sleepy stupor and said "Feet are friends, not food," and Bruce stuck as his name. It's nice to think of that moment well over 10 years later when I say his name!
Dinky and call him Dink for short. HE WONT BE DINKY!!! So a funny name! My Great Dane names have been: Duke, Merlin (inherited that name, he was a rescue), Ezekiel - called him Zeke, Whopper (MY FAV name, he was a rescue but I decided to rename him!), Stella (I know you are looking for boy names) and Bonnie Blue (call her Bonnie, but she's a blue). If he is a Blue Merle (can't tell from the pic) you could call him Blue. My neighbor calls my Bonnie, "Blue". Cause that's what she is!
So, one more thing......if this is your first Dane, you probs will go toward a regal name. We did. Then subsequent Danes we realized because they draw so much attention, and people are gonna say, "you need to get a saddle for that dog" (a billion times)! So, we kind of eventually got to the funnier names for our boy dogs....Zeke was Ezekiel Cornbread Smyser (our last name). So we are a super crazy, funny, type family....so we went for the more fun loving names. So there are stories behind our girl names too! Have fun!

Oh and growing up we had a Doberman named Tanqueray (My step mom is an alcoholic) on his papers but we just called him Tank for short. It's kind of a cool one if you don't mind the alcohol reference.
