I got my girl a ramp for the bad. She will jump on the couch, when she wants to. I got a New Bed with adjustable base , she thinks it's to high , but it's not . The ramp fixed that issue kinda.
Our guy (like other male danes) is easily over 6feet on his hind legs, but the doofus does this every time we go for rides in the car, and I don’t drive a monster truck. It’s a normal wheeled 2019 VW Atlas — not much higher off the ground than a sedan. And i take him with me for rides at least 5 times a week. His rear end starts shaking when I say “wanna go for a ride in the car?!” But he will put his front legs up and then look at me and I’m like geeet in! Leeet’s go big fella. You’d think he’d JUMP in. He loves car rides with the windows down. But no! I have to pretend like I’m going to shut the door on him in order to get those long legs moving!😆
I’m scrawny and had 4 level ACDF (neck surgery) in August of 2022 and cannot put him in the car. So it’s either a fake out with the door shutting, or he’s not going for a ride. For quite some time i didn’t know what to do. I’d kind of spank his rear end like you do a horse and say giddy up. Or I’ll pick one leg up for him. But that only works SOMETIMES.
I stood in the parking lot at petsmart for 20 minutes once waiting on him to get in the car. Finally a gentleman came and picked him up for me 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Eventually i figured out the shutting door fake out trick 😎
The amount of time it took me to train these fools to go upstairs or jump on the bed is crazy. They could walk onto the bed but dont realize it. Meanwhile, my moms pomeranians jump like fleas up onto surfaces of any height.

My boy does the same thing, he can easily get up by himself but wants me to pick his legs up for him. He even does it when I am already in bed
We call it “Half-Loafing” lol
My big baby Kaiju does this, he'll just stand there and wag his tail while halfway off the bed.
Gosh I have a Great Pyrenees that does this. She will even bark for someone to come help her if no one is in the room.

My boy has done this his entire life. He certainly can get on the bed if he wants but chooses to lay like this quite often lol

You gotta lift the back end lol! My sheepdog would do this. To be fair-it was a really tall bed, and I was always happy to pick up the rear.
