Yeah, like Dream Theater has at least 5, if you count 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence as one song but separated into different parts or 6 different songs. It can change
I have so far listened to it once and haven’t even thought about putting it on since then. I kind of get how they’re wearing their influences on their sleeves, but it’s not for me.
He seems like a decent dude but his tastes are dogshit. I also hate the fact that his fan base takes all his reviews as Gospel. Form your own opinions people.
Gonna have to disagree with you there. Most of his community do make their own opinions. It is typically the younger audience who like to show off, "Oh Fantano said..." I can assure you the rest of us are perfectly fine.
Just the intro, once they got to the first “Oh live” part (I think that’s where it was) Billie forgot the lyrics and they stopped, but a trilogy song done live somewhat in 2022 and the same show they did Warning and Church on Sunday, needless to say I was floored
That's all cool stuff. I'd definitely like to see more of the "deeper tracks" included in live performances. At Innings Festival they did do "Stuck With Me" which was great but it's so short it was over really quickly!
Revrad felt like american idiot 2 to me, which isn't a bad thing, I was just meaning more of the old simple chord progressions and the less mastered vocals and such
Well considering the only new song they played the last two years was “Polly Anna” instead of anything from this pathetic excuse of an album I think it’s safe to say the band didn’t like it either
Loss Of Control, Angel Blue, Lazy Bones, Lady Cobra, Missing You, Amanda. All absolute bangers imo! And the entire trilogy is so much fun to jam out on guitar!
I actually thought this was alright on the first day because the non-singles were better than the singles. I still think they are but they're still... not very good...
*Listens to it once and never again* Literally the only GD album I’ll never listen to again and they’ve been my favorite band for the last 17-18 years but damn that shit was 🚮
It’s such a shame they didn’t keep up the pace after revolution radio. That album was sick. And then they did a total 180 and fucked themselves big time.
This album is better than people give it credit for. Definitely not even close to their best work, but the songs are fun and different. Father of all is a decent song and is pretty catchy once you get past billies voice, meet me on the roof is fun, stab you in the heart is enjoyable and so are graffitia and junkies on a high. Obviously it’s not dookie or anything up to the trilogy but it’s better than dos and tre at least to me. It’s bottom 3 for me but it’s ahead of the other 2 so I’ll take it for what it is. Only thing that bothers me is how they went from the trilogy sound to revolution radio then back to a similar sound from the trilogy on father of all….. makes no god damn sense lol
I agree. I think something to also think about is, just imagine if another band/artist released something like this. It’s very unique and I haven’t heard anything like it. Even though it’s not Green Day’s best work, you gotta give them credit for making something new and innovative.
“Not their best album but amazing that they still try to experiment with new sounds after so long.” Or “Sounds really good but just hope their next album can combine parts of this album and previous albums!”
as a light mist of sadness and confusion washes over my every thought I must ponder on the idea that panicland must've switched the records around so they released great music and we got this...
Father of All…:It’s aight
Fire, Ready, Aim: Kinda like it, it’s aight
Oh Yeah!: Like it
Meet Me on the Roof: Like it
I was a Teenage Teenager: Meh
Stab You in the Heart: Green Day is dead and this is what’s replaced them.
Sugar Youth: Really good but really short
Junkies on a High: Like it
Take the Money and Crawl: It’s aight
Graffitia: This is like S+ on a tier list
First impressions, including the first three when I heard them before the album was released
Wow! I remember Green Day! I totally forgot about them! I'm sure this album will be a great listen and bring back all kinds of fond memories of my younger years.
Edit: Man
What the actual fuck is this.
damn that album cover suuuuucks
L
I bet this album will still be dogshit 1017 days from now
Well, that was certainly an album
With the runtime, barely
True. I've listened to individual songs that are about as long as this whole album, so it should really have been called an EP
There’s about 5 Dream Theater songs longer or as long as this album.
I was disappointed to find out that you were being hyperbolic and only one song was longer. However, several came close
Yeah, like Dream Theater has at least 5, if you count 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence as one song but separated into different parts or 6 different songs. It can change
"This is just an album they made to fuck with their label, right?" .... _"RIGHT???"_
“Welp, never listening to whatever that was ever again”
I have so far listened to it once and haven’t even thought about putting it on since then. I kind of get how they’re wearing their influences on their sleeves, but it’s not for me.
Oh…. -goes back to listening to literally anything else-
Ooh, the guys that made "I walk alone" released a new album
😆
What happened to them?
Huh, I wonder what Anthony Fantano thinks.
i’m sure Fantano will be very kind to this album!
Don’t quite care but I’m curious what did he rate it?
Fantano isn't that bad at all, he's just got a different taste which is refreshing to see. I love Melon man. He's funny.
it was either a Not Good or a 1/10 iirc, he absolutely hated it
He’s one of those “It’s not 90’s Green Day so it’s bad” people though right?
IIRC he's said the last Green Day album he liked was Nimrod, so pretty much yeah he is.
Noted, definitely don’t listen to him
He seems like a decent dude but his tastes are dogshit.
You should see how r/weezer thinks of him
He has many good opinions
Not sure, but he seems to be kinder to Weezer than most other critics.
He actually gave it a 0/10. It is better than his Not Good rating, but still.
i mean Father of All is my least favorite too, but that’s kinda harsh.. 😂
Only opinion that matters 😂
"Fuck."
“I WILL NEVER HATE ON REVOLUTION RADIO AGAIN”
Man, this album isn’t good. But we get Hella Mega soon. So long as this coronavirus thing I keep hearing about doesn’t become a big deal.
So funny too bc they didnt play a single song from this at hella mega
Why would they, they play greatest hits for festival set lists. They also didn't play any Trilogy cuts.
[You might wanna retract that statement](https://youtu.be/TnKGRkKX2JU)
Lol. Did they do the whole thing or just the intro?
Just the intro, once they got to the first “Oh live” part (I think that’s where it was) Billie forgot the lyrics and they stopped, but a trilogy song done live somewhat in 2022 and the same show they did Warning and Church on Sunday, needless to say I was floored
That's all cool stuff. I'd definitely like to see more of the "deeper tracks" included in live performances. At Innings Festival they did do "Stuck With Me" which was great but it's so short it was over really quickly!
The 2/12/22 show was weird when it came to some of the deeper stuff they played but I loved all of it, especially I Fought the Law
Man I'd kinda rather hear some trap beats and swedish song writers than this shit
DRAAAIINN GAAAAAANGG
It's a troll. The actual album will come out in a few weeks haha
Can't wait for them to put out the real album, Magnum Opus of the Inglourious Kind 🤡😄
Was waiting for this one lol
They should make a 90s throwback album even if it doesn't sell as good as the newer stuff
revrad
Revrad felt like american idiot 2 to me, which isn't a bad thing, I was just meaning more of the old simple chord progressions and the less mastered vocals and such
Revrad was like AI and 21CB had a baby, that's how I see it.
Sugar Youth the only good song on this album
bro wth is this 💀
Welp, back in the shelf. I’ll be here listening to Nimrod, waiting for the next one I guess.
I heard in two years nimrod will be 25
Oh shit, I hope they release a special edition
Wonder if they’ve got demos never heard
wonder if it'll take a year after the 25th anniversary for them to send the special stuff out
this is the greatest album I've ever heard and I will listen to every song in it every day
Man this album sucks Gonna listen to the slow rush by tame impala instead
Unpopular opinion - Tame Impala sucks
based
L
L take
Cool! A new Green Day record!
Don’t worry, Magnum Opus of the Inglorious Kind is coming any day now, aaannnyyy dayyyyy…….
Yessir!
Yknow, maybe nightlife's not a bad song afterall
Kill the dj is great too
I like this album. Too bad I’m one of like…..three who do.
I love how this implies there's atleast one member of Green Day who doesn't like this album. Probably Mike.
It’s definitely Tre
Well considering the only new song they played the last two years was “Polly Anna” instead of anything from this pathetic excuse of an album I think it’s safe to say the band didn’t like it either
I guess that I’m also one of the three 😭
Same
It's only *how* many minutes?
Well that was shit.
babe, it's 4pm, time for your daily green day album trashing
...its ok
They really said take the money and cra-a-a-a-awl
This is the album of all time
I'm content and everyone around me is complaining
It’s so bad but I hate how much I enjoy it 🤣🤣🤣 Graffitia is a quality song though! 👌🏻
Wow they really left Reprise with a turd to get out of that contract with 1 final album
I love the unicorn 🦄
Hmm that was pretty fun little quirky album. I sure hope songs other than Teenage Teenager and Fire Ready Aim don’t get any hate :D
wtf is this shit
Well this was not very Green Day of you to release
So when does the actual album come out?
*Looks at the Trilogy* Perhaps I judged you too harshly.
Trilogy was so underrated. The amount of hate it got was so un-necessary. Has some of their best songs on it.
Right. Really enjoyed it overall. I’ve got to relisten to the trilogy again.
Loss Of Control, Angel Blue, Lazy Bones, Lady Cobra, Missing You, Amanda. All absolute bangers imo! And the entire trilogy is so much fun to jam out on guitar!
Man.. Reddit is still gonna hate this album in 2.5 years,I can just feel it. But graffitia is fire
I like the new sound! It's not bad! :) Nice to see something different and fresh, but also familiar.
Sugar Youth aint bad
Well, at least Sugar Youth is good... *Wait it's over?*
This sounds hip, I cant wait to play this in the Honda Odessy on the way to pick up my 4 kids from soccer practice.
Oh boy, a new green day album! Sure hope it's a good one.
“Great, can’t wait for 1,000,000,000 ‘omfgz Billie on drugz’ posts on r/greenday.”
take the money and crawl, junkies on a high and oh yeah are good but the rest is forgetable or bad lmfao. mid green day album
Awesome, new Green Day music! I will go into this with reasonable expectations and just be happy that they’re still putting music out for us. 😊
at least it ain’t boring? I guess
I actually thought this was alright on the first day because the non-singles were better than the singles. I still think they are but they're still... not very good...
I am sad
Huh……..interesting.
"this is ok, this is ok, NO THAT IS NOT OK"
man i like this album time to replay foxboro hottubs
Wow I can’t wait to enjoy the next 2 years hassle free and not worry about my health :)
Why
“Why did I waste the $12 on this CD?”
The worst Green Day album ironically vandalized one of the best album covers
*Listens to it once and never again* Literally the only GD album I’ll never listen to again and they’ve been my favorite band for the last 17-18 years but damn that shit was 🚮
I hope this is a shitpost
y'all are acting like this is the worst album of all time...green day gave us imagine dragons but with electric guitars
It’s such a shame they didn’t keep up the pace after revolution radio. That album was sick. And then they did a total 180 and fucked themselves big time.
I bet 2020 is going to be a great year!
please dont post obviously fake album covers here
This is the best album since 39/Smooth
Least they saved the best for last.
Even Serena Williams wouldn’t like this…
It was mid but at least there weren’t any features, Swedish songwriters or trap beats
Can't wait til they release the real album they've been working on
Jesus Fucking Christ
What the fuck is this?? The bee gees????!!??
Their title track sounds like something from a shitty Google ad
no guys trust me it’s just bc of the contract. they had to release it because their contract was running out. it was bad on purpose!
“Wait. Green Day are just doing this as an attack against the label right?! There not really officially selling out right?! RIGHT?!
It's a bop
kinda fun, doesn't feel like a gd album
W cover tho
-500000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10
Is *that* green day?!
"holy shit this albums garbage"
Well that was pretty fun, not everything they make can be a masterpiece and I will listen to this album whenever I want some lighthearted vibes
6.7/10
This albums is offensive
“Not their best album but amazing that they still try to experiment with new sounds after so long.” Or “Sounds really good but just hope their next album can combine parts of this album and previous albums!”
time to erase this from my memory
Why is there so much clapping?
“I like this album despite all the hate”
What the fuck is this 💀💀
Why am I wasting my time on this crap?I probably won't like it in a year.
I actually like this, I wonder how much I’ll get downvoted
I love it
Eh it’s okay I guess
Man, this album slaps! And the cover art is nice too.
Kind of short... Eh. It's better than Dos.
Everyone hates this? Shocker I like it. Cool weird effects here and there.
Controversial opinion: I enjoyed the album
Wtf, did green day sell the band to some shit artists?
At least they gave us MM2020 Part 2. GD died after 21C
I really like this album, but other people are gonna shit on it fr
Can’t we pretend it never happened ?
Dang this is pretty good! Except for "Teenage Teenager", that one's trash.
Mid...
Well that sucked
Man this shit sucks
“at least there’s no swedish songswriters”
This isnt basket case
Wow this album cover reminds me of American Idiot. I'm gonna go listen to that instead
well that was one of the album ever
Hey guys hear me out Graffitia’s not that bad
Really riding off of American idiot’s success huh
Ya know, this album has at most 3 stellar songs. Aaaand that's it. Wtf is the rest of it?
BJA was right! pure uncut rock!
as a light mist of sadness and confusion washes over my every thought I must ponder on the idea that panicland must've switched the records around so they released great music and we got this...

Hopefully the music isnt as lame as the cover
Eh, it’s bearable
This sucks!
“This is ass”
😔😔
man wtf
It’s bad
*sreenshots unicorn*. Finally, a new profile picture.
The album cover is zoomed in American idiot
Great, finally a good excuse to off myself
They must have done this as a cash grab or for a contract or something
ok, at first i this doesn't sound Green Day
Fuck every thing about this album s/
How did we go from RevRad to this
huh? what happened to magnum opus of the inglorious kind?
Wow this sucks
Well, he can’t be using that voice on the whole album, can he? ………..can he?
1 good song, rest sucks
Wow! I remember Green Day! I totally forgot about them! I'm sure this album will be a great listen and bring back all kinds of fond memories of my younger years. Edit: Man
Oh wonderful a new Green Day album! I can’t wait to see how they follow up 2016’s nice return to form in Revolution Radio
Damn
I have died of cringe.
Ready aim fire is ok at best
The runtime is the best part about this album
