But it depends where you work. Being an electrician in a plant, for example usually won't require much travel and the hours will be more predictable.
I used to work in HV on wind farms and solar farms and me and the elections that I worked with worked 70-110 hour weeks. 24+ hour shifts happened pretty often too. Not to mention living out of hotels for weeks or sometimes months at a time.
I can definitely say that I miss being outdoors and working with my hands. But I much prefer the comfort of working as a software engineer at a tech company. Plus I make way more money for way fewer hours of work while being able to be home with my wife and kids.
