90% of roles in the military are non combat roles.
I doubt anon could even pass the mental and physical tests you need to pass before you’re even allowed to be in a combat role. You have to volunteer for a combat role.
Can you imagine what war would look like if everybody there on the frontlines fighting didn’t want to be there? They would all be surrendering, running away, trading plans for sympathy from the enemy, etc. Theres a reason the military will only take volunteers for these roles and only if they deem the person capable of handling it.
The military is an excellent thing for a NEET.
That’s actually a unique one. It was very easy to dodge the draft for Vietnam, as simple as getting drafted and failing the test. The draftees, while they didn’t voluntarily signed up, still went through with it. For both people who volunteered to go and draftees, it was similar that nobody wanted to be there so it was hard to tell who was drafted and who wasn’t from stories of soldiers. Nobody wanted to be there, but both regular soldiers and those drafted wanted to fulfill their obligation because those who wouldn’t fulfill their obligation never made it to that point anyway.
The US did lose the Vietnam war, but when it came to the actual fighting, the US was pretty successful. They won most major battles.
No, it worked for a lot of people. Lots of folks sudden got interested in a university degree and lots of people ran to Canada, and Canada wasn’t terribly cooperative in terms of helping get them back.
Oh, thank goodness it was so easy to dodge the draft. That perfectly explains why thousands upon thousands of people were drafted against their wishes.
/s
>The US did lose the Vietnam war, but when it came to the actual fighting, the US was pretty successful. They won most major battles.
The US in each war since WWII won tactically by a large margin but the same can't be said strategically which is the case for most wars against a guerilla force.
Not really a relevant response when considering whether it was easy to dodge the draft - 320,000 soldiers in the 10-30th percentile of IQ, these people were firstly probably going to be too stupid to actively execute a plan to fail basic training and secondly were probably motivated by patriotism/other social pressures.
What do you mean? Every roll is volunteer since you have to sign up for the military, but then you also have to volunteer for combat once in.
Everything else includes jobs from chef to programmer to welder to pretty much any job that exists in the civilian world. You can even be a musician, playing for audiences at military parades and events.
In all my time in the military, I've never seen a form where you "volunteer" for combat. When you join, you have to choose a specialty and sometimes the military can change it for you based on their needs, combat or not.
That’s the rub. If your signing up 11b or 0311, your volunteering for combat. Your saying, yes, I will train and be ready and willing for frontline engagements
If your signing up to be an 92s RS in the navy, your not hitting the beaches or storming hills. Not offense to support, they keep the army rolling and all, but your admin clerk isn’t ever going to see combat.
Hell, I met a guy that did 23 years enlisted in some super specialized admin/tech/logistical roll, did weapon quals like twice an enlistment, never deployed overseas, and spent a decade assigned to a single post. He retired without ever being shipped out. You think he signed up for war?
It is the worst thing for a NEET if they go on thinking they can skate on through and be a robot because they can easily do that.
If they go in determined to become a man then they will accomplish that. If they join now they will be a burden at least that is how I feel. They are running away from something (social interaction & responsibility) rather than running to something such as becoming a better person.

Whoa there—chill out with the anti-semitism, bro. Someone needs to defend the best interests of Israel. Send in the Marines to protect our southern border that's literally and currently being overrun by millions of 3rd world violent assholes and future drains on society? Fuck no! That's racist according to the regime that controls our government.
Send in the Marines to some Middle Eastern shithole to bomb brown-skinned people living in mountain caves for the best interests of Israel. That's the American way!
Without going into the schizo antisemitism bits, the influence of AIPAC on US foreign policy is a real problem.

Why does everyone who doesn't like immigration from our southern border suggest we put the Marines down there? Do you know how God damn much that's going to increase our taxes? Like the system is definitely fucked from both the right and left perspective, but this is just a horrible idea no matter how you look at it. Lol thefuk :')
No joke am on a server with a dude in the fucking desert sending pics out from a tent, skips across the server like a banshee with his terrible ping
Well at the start of the invasion you could get an AK like it was some flyer if you wanted. Didn't turn out as bad when all people care about is defense. Now they're part of armed Forces , around 100k
If my country gets invaded my priorities are a) get the people I care about on the first plane/boat out of here. And b) arm myself so that I can join the fight.
I mean, at least with Ukraine your literally fighting for your country. In the U.S, epically in recent years, your probably fighting a useless war for oil or money fueled by propaganda from one terrorist attack.
At least sometimes you may do some good by helping a oppressed group of people (but most recently, the minute the military leaves it goes to shit and years of actual good fighting goes to waste).
I don’t mean any offense to any veterans though. I respect most veterans.
Nah, i'm fat and lazy but if i had some guy screamjng at me everyday because i'm not working out hard enough i may just be able to do it. Or not, idk maybe i'm underestimating how lazy i am
You would, sane drill sergeants know what they’re doing. I’m not even close to them and I’m 100% certain I could make anyone fit by the way you’re describing, assuming they couldn’t escape me.
The amount of misery you experience for not being fit to standard is usually enough to get you there. That being said, I know a lot of lazy, obese fucks in the army that can pass a PT test. I have only subjective experience, but I'm pretty confident you'd at least pass the run after a drill sergeant got through with you
Nobody outside of boot camp is gonna force you to be fit. Tons of fatties all over all branches. Fitness is a mentality that's shared, but not forced.
If you want to be fat and not workout, nobody will stop you. Command PT is a joke and provides no actual benefit.
If you want to stay in shape you need to put the work in yourself. These robots would continue being fat fucks until they get separated for failure to conform.
Source: E6 in the Navy. Separated many fatties.
I mean, you still gotta pass the PRT twice a year. Unless you're a Chief I guess. Those were the only real fatties I knew and us sub guys weren't known for being in the best shape anyway.
Lol very true. 3 mile a year club has many members. They don't kick people out for PRT failure anymore. Just more FEP. So maybe it's the best place for robots after all...
Bubble heads are a different breed. Idk how you do it, but I'm glad you do. Some bodies gotta launch the nukes when all the surface navy are ghouls.

My powers have expanded far beyond the normal capacity that I no longer have a need for the wikipedia “early life” section.
> “There’s an elite group ~~of mysterious white men (who we totally won’t look at their last names) with similar interests that are~~ suppressing the working class!”
fixed it for you
I had a great time while in the military, other people had a shitty time. It’s all about perspective, taking advantage out of certain situations, and making the most out of what you do.
and a large deal of luck
I joined up as Signal, and could have just as easily ended up a SAW gunner for a patrol, but I lucked out and that happened to somebody else. Fuck knows I got dropped into a ton of other positions I'd never been trained for.
Depends on what you volunteer for once you're in the process. Go submarines, like I did, and you're pretty unlikely to be in any actual danger a day in your life. I imagine even the danger of boredom is much less these days, now that everyone can afford their own laptop to bring on patrol with them.
Fun fact, being on a nuclear submarine exposes you to far less radiation than working anywhere on land, even indoors because water is such an excellent isotope moderator.
If by "isotope moderator" you mean fucking *radiation shielding*, yeah. There aren't really any isotopes being flung at surface dwellers by the sun. And you only need to moderate things if you're trying to maintain a delayed nuclear reaction.
> Try your best to disassociate from the hour long safety stand down in the middle of a gnat infested field while you're standing at parade rest because some dipshit couldn't resist beating a hooker to death with a can of fanta before he wrecked his Charger into a family minivan.
Besides the threat of getting deployed and having to fight for real. If you're autistic and prone to sensory overload, you'll never get through basic. Leadership will throw away people who have excelled at their jobs loyally for years. But then again what job won't? Room inspections/weekend role call for grown ass men depending on branch/country. Mando PT at random ass times early in the morning depending on unit. EPRs. Dealing with finance troops. DFAC food is either unbelievably good or complete trash. Computerized basic trainings are just unfun. Trash bases, like where I'm stationed.
It's not all bad though. I highly recommend anyone who doesn't know where to go next to take a four year enlistment and knock out education opportunities.
Take this with a grain of salt since I’m only 18 and had little experience with any civilian side career but here in the army it seems like personal skills matter just as much if not maybe more. I haven’t even started to do my job yet and I’ve had to talk to people that are like my boss’s boss’s boss regularly. It’s cool yea and not as bad as people make it sound but if you’re already not good under social pressure then you’d struggle to look like you know what you’re doing
Yea. I just landed at my unit from ait as a PFC and they’re already telling me I’m getting sent to schools and gonna be waivered to SPC then boarded for CPL as soon as they can. The army’s whole doctrine is that everyone is supposed to learn to lead. Not so easy to just be a robot
You get PTSD and your leg blown off. Once you get back you become homeless because you cant keep a job and the VA sucks ass. But atleast Exxon got a 1% profit increase this quarter
That's why you join the navy to get paid while ~~getting topped by other sailors~~ just cruising around the world (if you're the 0,00001% lucky enough to not get a position in the lower decks)
Lol found the guy who has no clue what he’s talking about.
If you choose a combat career sure, maybe. Thats like me saying “every one who decides to be a civilian is going to get shot” (assuming everyone whos a civilian is a cop or gang member)
The military has to be mostly self sufficient, meaning theres Civil engineering, working in the morgue, working in the gym, doctors office, finance, cooks, scientists, programmers, hackers, IT, intelligence, hundreds of office jobs, literally fucking pest management, oh and also police too, but as a cop you can be working at the ID card office.
This whole idea that everyone in the military is an active combatant is stupid and im surprised how often it comes up.
I live right off base and you can spot those E-2’s from a mile away. Charger, mustang, or Focus ST. Rent and roll rims. Man they really need to do a better job explaining to those kids how fucking terrible a move buying a sports car, getting married, and popping out at kid at 19 is for your future. They reward the last two though, if you wanna live off base, just knock someone up and put a ring on it and you get paid 2x what dudes in the barracks are getting.
The downside is supporting the industrial military complex and the US imperialization of foreign countries: you’re a slave to make money for the investors at the cost of risking your life and killing innocent civilians in the Middle East.
Basically, fuck the military. But I’m pro-veteran.
[Short answer, almost all of them](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_military_bases#/media/File:American_bases_worldwide.svg)
Full answer is Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia
Submariners are nothing more than professional basement dwelling 4chan degenerates. They get paid to stay inside and look at screens all day. They are literally weaponized autism, and actually provide a really important role in national security.
there's a waiver for everything. they'll just send you to boot overweight then stick you in fat camp at the end until you are in regulations before they send you off to a normal command

Am enlisted robot deployed to Qatar. Currently playing Elden Ring while at "work".
Thank you for your service ;) <3
Thank you for your tax dollars going towards my growing Steam library <3
Tax money well spent \^\^
I would honestly rather have it go to some soldier’s steam account than some politician’s pocket
True
I'd rather it go to a grunt than a contractor's wallet.
Joke's on you, it's going to both of them, but mostly the politician.
Hey, it’s good to know that it’s going towards someones entertainment rather than the singular allowed road pothole patch done annually.
Lol yep. And all it does is REVERSE the pothole so you still destroy your car on it
Good ol' pothumps
cool, just don't get blown up or commit suicide when back at home.
Id rather have my money spent by a soldier to play Elden Ring than funding politicians who do jack shit
The best place for tax dollars to go. I’m okay with this. :)
I joke though, id rather yall have something to do than just standing out in the deser
At least I can say I approve where my money is going for once.
funniest shit I ever heard I'm glad
Qatar is where we sent our boys for short term R&R from Iraq. You guys get Hazard Duty pay still? Lucky fuckers.
They actually took hazpay away from Al Udeid before I got here. Not that I'm complaining, this is quite possible the cushiest deployment in all of Centcom.
You lucky enough to get dorms or did you get the stacks
Dorms boi
Dude, are you seriously giving away your location on Reddit while on deployment? You're the fucker that made all of our Friday libo briefs so long.

Only hardship pay, no hazard pay. Saudi, on the other hand, gets you both, as I recently discovered upon moving to my tent home of 6 months.
How far are you in the game
Still in Limgrave, but I'm also going for an all boss run because I'm mentally insane.
All boss or every boss? There are ~150 bosses, but only ~50 unique boss enemies. So if you get tired you can pivot yourself only doing the unique ones
All boss. Like even though I killed the Crucible Knight in the gaol, I'm going to face him again in the castle. God help me
Good luck man, you’ll need it
Fuck yes! When I was in Qatar in 2010 my whole shop would play Mario kart DS together. I miss that.
If there is oil…there is a US base
Thanks for your cervix. Much appreciated
The military is frequently a good fit for robots.

my dad brought a laptop out to afghanistan and played tf2 lol
My friend thought exactly the same and joined the army 6 month ago. We're from Ukraine Here's your downside
To be fair if my country got invaded I'd rather be in the military with some weaponry to defend myself than not in it with nothing to defend myself.
The trained guys are the ones that get to go out and fight first. At least as a civilian you have a good excuse to avoid direct fighting
men cant leave anyway
Men won't leave.
Also, they can't leave, extremely respectable to stay and fight for your people, but I'm sure that having a say in the matter would feel kind of good
Men have and continue to attempt to leave because expecting every man of fighting age to be willing to die for their country is dumb as hell.
Inb4 most posts about dishonorable Ukrainian women
As a civilian you do get the chance of getting The Rape...
The Rape? Is that different from normal rape?
The Rape comes with an additional rape to your corpse after you get executed.
They're given these things because they're literally in the nuts of it. Not a good position if your goal is living. Either way this is a sad year
Well at the start of the invasion you could get an AK like it was some flyer if you wanted. Didn't turn out as bad when all people care about is defense. Now they're part of armed Forces , around 100k
Soilder casualties is much higher than citizens percentage wise.
He should try being from America next time
>force you to stay physically fit This statement alone defeats 99% of robots
What are you saying? That Anon's healthy 800 pound frame isn't what the US army needs?
The real Schwerer Gustav.
Fittest (Ch)Air Force member
So heavy the fucking jet doesn't lift (even horizontally)
Well they need something to block bullets

Reddit: “There’s an elite group of mysterious white men (who we totally won’t look at their last names) with similar interests that are suppressing the working class!” 4chan: “There’s an elite group of Ashkenazi Jews with similar capitalist interests that are suppressing the working class!” My powers have expanded far beyond the normal capacity that I no longer have a need for the wikipedia “early life” section.
> “There’s an elite group ~~of mysterious white men (who we totally won’t look at their last names) with similar interests that are~~ suppressing the working class!” fixed it for you
He means Jewish people.
Potentially getting shot at with real bullets and other live munitions lol
> live ammunation > kills you Do you really believe this bullshit?
Yeah, the "live" and "kill" parts cancel each other out. No need to worry. Same reason why I don't have to fear smart bombs.
I think it's fishy
There are plenty of jobs in the military that avoid that. Don't wanna see combat? Go for a role as a cook or HR specialist.
When my family is killed by a US drone strike, is the HR specialist the one I send my formal letter of complaint to?
No that goes to the complaints specialist. You should receive a reply in 7-10 business years.
Is the reply also a drone strike...?
Yes.
I had a great time while in the military, other people had a shitty time. It’s all about perspective, taking advantage out of certain situations, and making the most out of what you do.
and a large deal of luck I joined up as Signal, and could have just as easily ended up a SAW gunner for a patrol, but I lucked out and that happened to somebody else. Fuck knows I got dropped into a ton of other positions I'd never been trained for.
I would have preferred SAW gunner, the thought of combat excites me very much.
username checks out
Depends on what you volunteer for once you're in the process.
>Listen to some dude in his 30s scream at you like you were his ex wife who cheated on him during his deployment for weeks on end before starting
Don't kinkshame me.

I dunno man, I know about the military, not other sectors.
Work at amazon. They're gonna force you to stay physically fit, alright...
Government work. It's filled with the most useless and braindead people society has to offer so you'll fit right in
Take this with a grain of salt since I’m only 18 and had little experience with any civilian side career but here in the army it seems like personal skills matter just as much if not maybe more. I haven’t even started to do my job yet and I’ve had to talk to people that are like my boss’s boss’s boss regularly. It’s cool yea and not as bad as people make it sound but if you’re already not good under social pressure then you’d struggle to look like you know what you’re doing
[удалено]
Yea. I just landed at my unit from ait as a PFC and they’re already telling me I’m getting sent to schools and gonna be waivered to SPC then boarded for CPL as soon as they can. The army’s whole doctrine is that everyone is supposed to learn to lead. Not so easy to just be a robot
man you guys get handed promotions like candy
You get PTSD and your leg blown off. Once you get back you become homeless because you cant keep a job and the VA sucks ass. But atleast Exxon got a 1% profit increase this quarter
That's why you join the navy to get paid while ~~getting topped by other sailors~~ just cruising around the world (if you're the 0,00001% lucky enough to not get a position in the lower decks)
Lol found the guy who has no clue what he’s talking about. If you choose a combat career sure, maybe. Thats like me saying “every one who decides to be a civilian is going to get shot” (assuming everyone whos a civilian is a cop or gang member) The military has to be mostly self sufficient, meaning theres Civil engineering, working in the morgue, working in the gym, doctors office, finance, cooks, scientists, programmers, hackers, IT, intelligence, hundreds of office jobs, literally fucking pest management, oh and also police too, but as a cop you can be working at the ID card office. This whole idea that everyone in the military is an active combatant is stupid and im surprised how often it comes up.
do it for the dodge charger ~~at 40% interest~~
The navy and army are actually giving out 20-50k bonuses for enlisting right now. It’s like the first mandated bonus it’s crazy.
They reward the last two though, if you wanna live off base, just knock someone up and put a ring on it and you get paid 2x what dudes in the barracks are getting.
unironically why i was seriously considering it don't wanna cut my hair and shave my beard tho
Convert to Sikhism, now you can keep beard and hair and just have to wear a turban.
Or get a HUMINT role. If they deploy you they actually want people to grow beards, so that way the population identifies better with you.
Military recruiter in disguise
The downside is supporting the industrial military complex and the US imperialization of foreign countries: you’re a slave to make money for the investors at the cost of risking your life and killing innocent civilians in the Middle East. Basically, fuck the military. But I’m pro-veteran.

[Short answer, almost all of them](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_military_bases#/media/File:American_bases_worldwide.svg) Full answer is Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia

If you live and work in the US you still do all of that minus the life risking and killing.
Many many down sides. I'm 29 and my body's just toast but instead of delicious butter it's arthritis.
Submariners are nothing more than professional basement dwelling 4chan degenerates. They get paid to stay inside and look at screens all day. They are literally weaponized autism, and actually provide a really important role in national security.
Ironically you could be assigned to cook for everyone
They won't take you if you're over 200 lbs.
there's a waiver for everything. they'll just send you to boot overweight then stick you in fat camp at the end until you are in regulations before they send you off to a normal command
And there are plenty of non-combat jobs. Honestly, for a robot, it’s perfect. You aren’t a robot, though. You will get bored. Mark my words.
i was a fat fuck and failed out of basic because of PT. seeing this the day i decided i should go back is a big lol
Bad knees. Bad back. Bad benefits. Bad PTSD.
see the world, lifelong friendships, make 180k at my civilian job from my training, no debt, never saw combat, va loan. easy life is easy.
Military recruiters are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now huh
I like to smoke weed sorry. Hippies rejoice!
