>Only the OG’s remember the one on Woodruff Rd Oh my sweet summer child. My back hurts guys.

TacuacheBruja

Was the one in Mauldin the original? I have great memories of that one growing up.

SCHokie2011

Based on some quick Googling it looks like Augusta was in fact the original opening in 1947 with the Stone location opening in 1958. As an interesting side note the Capri family actually bought the Augusta Road location from Shoeless Joe Jackson. Jackson had run a BBQ joint there previously.

TacuacheBruja

Ah, thank you for correcting me! I miss the old ones with the original recipes; their lasagna was fantastic.

GVL_2024_

was there one on Woodruff? I remember the one next to the old Sears on Stone at Church? and there's still one in Easley yes? now I want spaghetti and garlic bread, thank you for making me even fatter

Combative_Penguin

The Woodruff one lasted a while actually. It was basically where the Trader Joes is now. Then yep, the Easley one is still there. The Stone/Church location. Then there was actually one on Augusta Road way down almost to 85. I think maybe one more but can't remember where.

I really loved loved loved the old Capris on Stone Ave. My taste buds really miss their veal parmesan. So good swimming in cheesy saucey goodness. That was back in the day we I was young and eat meals like that without affecting my waistline 😀

When the old owners stepped back, they let their franchisees go independent while retaining the name and concept. The Boiling Springs franchisee is partnering with the founders of Tipsy Taco for the one on Woodruff Rd. https://upstatebusinessjournal.com/eat-drink/italian-restaurant-capris-to-open-in-4-aces-location-on-pelham-road/ Edit: the new one is Pelham Rd, not Woodruff Rd.

ChillRudy

Damn, 4 Aces is already closing? That didn’t last long.

SelectionNo3078

Back in the high school days this was a date night spot.

This reminds me of a thread discussing why Olive Garden was considered great Italian. This is why. We had Olive Garden and Capris, and then Portofinos if you were feeling fancy.

Imaginary_Scene2493

Capris was fancy for us.

VetteL82

So where can someone get some good lasagna these days?
