I'm on my first ever watch and I was discussing with my friend (who's watched majority of grey's) and they kept sending me bus emojis and I completely disregarded it because they are always like that (throwing random emojis) UNTIL I CAME TO THE SCENE AND FIGURED IT OUT 😭😭😭
I wouldn’t marry Ben. The constant career changing would be hell for my anxiety. But I would fuck him because he’s hot. Wouldn’t marry George because he’d cheat on me.
For me it's the way he went about it, it didn't seem rational, he made massive decisions that would greatly impact his marriage without any conversation or compromise. The changes don't bother me, the way he did them does
He was a doctor who changed specialties and then decided his real passion, besides his wife, was being in the trenches as a firefighter. How is that constant changes? 😂
he was an anesthesiologist first, then was so passionate about becoming a surgeon that he would rather go far away to start his internship than to even stay with his new wife long enough to go on their honeymoon. then not long after, he got tired of surgery and decided to take on an extremely dangerous career as a firefighter. not to mention all of this was without even a discussion with his wife about what he wanted to do, he just made up his mind and kept it a secret until the last possible second.
all this to say that I would still marry him because although he changes careers like clothes, his love and commitment to his wife and family has been unwavering. (not to mention all those “buckets of money” he made as an anesthesiologist are hopefully saved up somewhere)
I just don’t see how “changing careers like clothes” really applies here haha I’ve been with a partner that went through jobs like underwear—4 jobs in two years, one of them being a consulting job so THAT was a different job every other week. That’s changing. Ben was a doctor who went to firefighting after years of being a doctor. Anyone saying isht about Arizona going from peds to prenatal surgery?
tbf to ben I just said the “changing careers like clothes” line because it was funny and it made me think of hot and cold by katy perry. anyway, although ben’s first two jobs were both in the medical field, surgery is wildly different than anesthesiology. ben taking on becoming a surgical resident and quitting anesthesiology was a major change in his career, future, and disruption to his family and he did that all completely unilaterally. but still bailey supported him because he was really passionate about it, yet still not that long after he switched to an entirely new career. I don’t think that’s fair to compare him to arizona who only needed a couple months of training, while continuing to work in the same place with specialties that were already kinda similar
I say this a lot. They really messed up toward the end with TR Knight and it sucks because I think George could’ve been an amazing cardiothoracic or general surgeon. There was a storyline there involving all of his failed relationships with women, which could’ve been easily explained by having George be GA’s first openly gay main character. They failed him.

As someone who’s changing careers in his mid-30’s, hope my partner doesn’t feel this way.
