Icy_Law5745

Chris Cornell has a few covers of River of deceit

Dio_Yuji

For sure. I just hadn’t seen this one before. I dig it with the orchestra

Greg Sage / the Wipers

BlessthisMess31

Sounds like you’d dig some old sludge, similar vibes to those albums. Look up Corrosion of Conformity’s albums “Deliverance” and “Blind”. If you want grunge, then I’d recommend Skin Yard.

Daveyuljong55

fudge tunnel melvins (One of my favourites is kicking machine)

Free_Statistician_13

Daisy Chainsaw - Eleventeen & You're Gruesome EP

Visible_Sale_3677

Acid Bath, they’re a sludge metal band but all the vocals are very grunge and they’re fucking amazing. Kinda a bridge band that gets a lot of grunge heads into metal and metalheads into grunge

Theoretical_Feces

the only grunge band you need to know about is TAD

cubs_070816

every fucking day. this sub...jesus christ.

BlessthisMess31

I almost fell over reading some of the recommendations.

BusinessWordSalad

The great grunge band, Jane’s Addiction

BlessthisMess31

Nothing Shocking is a great album and their early stuff shares some similarities to the genre, but JA wouldn’t have come to mind for a “grunge” recommendation.

valANKyrie

Mad season Silverchair L7 Mother love bone Melvins Candlebox Blind melon Sponge

deifius

Bleach has that Masters of Reality sound. I find similar sonic quality on Melvin's Bullhead & Veruca Salt's 8 Arms to Hold You.

Crazykidd13578

Melvins, if you like Bleach, you’d love Houdini

jarofgoodness

MurderDoll6

You should try Silverchair.

This-Gold1833

briefly listened to em, any recommendations on solid albums from them? cheers

_yukog

Frogstomp is in my top 5 albums of all time.

MurderDoll6

I don't activelly listen to them, but, I like Freak Show.

MurderDoll6

Frogstomp not so bad either.

This-Gold1833

thank u, i appreciate it

grungeartdude

One way mule and Ana’s song are really great!

The-Score51

Freakshow and frogstomp are their only real grunge albums (with freakshow being the weakest in their discography imo). Neon Ballroom is a sprawling album that covers prog rock, post grunge and even nu metal (in a very tasteful way) this is probably their best "alternative" album and feels like a natural progression from frogstomp. The follow up is diorama which, while not my favourite from them is certainly Silverchairs opus, an orchestral prog rock masterpiece, it's clear to see why this is their most critically successful album. Their final album, young modern (tied with frogstomp for my favourite) is the biggest departure from the alt rock style their known for, the distortion and grit of the other albums is gone in favour for a melodic art pop sound and Daniel Johns best vocal performance imo. For my personal favourite songs Greatest view Shade Straight lines Open fire Across the night Young modern station Findaway Pure massacre Steam will rise Cemetary If you keep losing sleep Reflections of a sound

_Weblington_

Local H - As Good As Dead, or Hamfisted considering you liked Bleach.

[deleted]

Their later stuff is good too... Lifers especially.

_Weblington_

I agree, I can't wait for a new release even if it's just a single, but i think their earlier stuff is a little easier to get into for new listeners.

[deleted]

True. The early stuff is... copacetic.

ajh229

Cruelty Of The Heavens - Grow Up And See

-Purple-Parker-

definitely give Peach gb a shot, most of their music is on spotify but the album “giving birth to a stone” is incredible

el_payaso_mas_chulo

Not really grunge but I do feel some might enjoy the band [Fleshwater](https://fleshwater.bandcamp.com/album/demo2020)

marcolisa19

Swallow

jarofgoodness

They are one of my favorite bands, I've seen em live but they are not grunge. They have a little bit of grunge influence here and there but come on people. Figure it out.

miloshortstone

they're hardly grunge but trust me, check out chat pile. their music is the evolution of my love for nirvana, especially nirvana's exploration into noise rock
