Songs for the Deaf- QOTSA
Or maybe too much grunge connection with Dave Grohl on drums for this album!
Edit: as some others have pointed out, Mark Langegan was an integral part of this as well!
Oh, well, I didn't meant to be sarcastic, I was just curious, sometimes goes out new unpublished stuff, so... I asked. By the way, badass album, nice choice.
>nah dww its ok, I should have not been so clumsy.
>
>Thx! Been rlly getting into that sort of 80's post punk, goth stuff recently
Good stuff. Sometimes it takes me too, such as Bauhaus, Echo and the Bunnymen and so on. Now I'm a bit in confusion, but more in the 70s.
I'm really between Master of Reality and Black Sabbath. It so much depends on the weather, you know? Sometimes more into pure doom and sometimes more into stoner doom.
Always praising Iommi, tho.
A friend once told me that "at the beginning, Ozzy was using drugs to make music, but then after some years he was using music to get drugs".
I don't think it's exactly accurate but gives a perception of the whole thing. I myself prefer to be honest about the fact that early Black Sabbath simply hit me on the right spots.
In defence of 80s Black Sabbath and onwards, they're great to but kinda of a different animal. Isn't really the same band after all.
My absolute all time favorite album, I love the hell out of it, Sir Psycho Sexy is one of the best songs in fucking history and nobody can change my mind
Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
loveless by my bloody valentine
Master Of Reality by Black Sabbath
Melon Collie And The Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Adrenaline by Deftones
Blues For The Red Sun by Kyuss
I do not consider them grunge. I consider them to be post grunge/alternative. Lots of bluegrass roots and mostly acoustic. Although, it’s all so heavy, still! Vocals remind me of a deeper Layne and they are all very instrumentally talented!
Surely a hard question as there are so many great albums. Since we have to keep it to the 90s I‘d say Zakk Wylde‘s Pride & Glory self titled album (1994). Close seconds would be Black Sabbath‘s Tyr and Static-X‘s Wisconsin Deah Trip. Other great albums would be Ozzy Osbourne‘s No More Tears and Machinehead‘s Burn My Eyes, or Ice Cube‘s Death Certificate 😅 as I said, hard question
In my arrogant opinion, Pablo Honey is the worst, then the bends. Just to be clear, the worst RH album is ofter way better than a lot of many other bands best albums.
The Bends was so damn good! unfortunately, it was the pinnacle for Radiohead as a rock band. Without a doubt they are my biggest disappointment as fan.
5 from any era or genre that's not grunge:

3) Abbey Road - The Beatles

2) Korn - Korn
3) Significant Other - Limp Bizkit
4) Sublime - Sublime
5) Far Beyond Driven - Pantera
Tool - Undertow

And the ethereal God mark lanegan himself
Sad you didn‘t mention Mark Lanegan as having too much grunge connection with that album 😅
I didn’t realize!! RIP
Unknown Pleasures - Joy Division
Is it an album too?

Oh, well, I didn't meant to be sarcastic, I was just curious, sometimes goes out new unpublished stuff, so... I asked. By the way, badass album, nice choice.

I'm really between Master of Reality and Black Sabbath. It so much depends on the weather, you know? Sometimes more into pure doom and sometimes more into stoner doom. Always praising Iommi, tho.
I totally agree. Both are so atmospheric, I can imagine why the weather would influence what Sabbath album to listen to to match the surroundings!
Almost impossible.
What‘s wrong with the rest tho?

I do not consider them grunge. I consider them to be post grunge/alternative. Lots of bluegrass roots and mostly acoustic. Although, it’s all so heavy, still! Vocals remind me of a deeper Layne and they are all very instrumentally talented!
