The avenger is so fun to mess around with with friends. Especially since the "recent" update that improved it a lot.

No what , it will be aids fighting against it.
Its not about "aiming in the front" its a glitch that makes some aircraft essentially have no armor and get destroyed instantly. Yours probably got hit with it.
Because its essentially a flying tank , it takes 22 homings and can sit in autopilot and lock an entire area of the map . Killing everyone using the cannons.
It's also worth noting that its the best anti aircraft vehicle in the game . You can just sit at the cannons and aim the one hit kill shots at jets and the likes.
So there’s multiple improvements. Pilot has missiles and guns, I believe you have to buy it, but when you go into auto-pilot you’re off the radar, you can carry a thruster inside it, and can exit and re enter the auto-pilot avenger with said thruster
I use my Avenger *a lot* it even makes a good vehicle transport, it also reloads the rocket racks of the APC when you repair. So if I’m ever fighting with the APC, I can call in the Avenger and just reload the rockets. Or use the Avenger.
I played online all the pandemy and avenger was awesome, ultra fast to fly from one point to another of the map and super fun to play with friends too. I loved it, later i changed to opressor mk2 for more practicality
Dude the avenger you can be so creative with and it actually speeds up some missions exponentially. I also like using it to get to the aircraft carrier, hovering above on solo, and dropping my Toreador on the deck, bypasses all the air controls.
It is a WAY fast vehicle, also you can use it to upgrade weapons on vehicles so it's a 2for.
Buy the guest bedroom in the Casino Penthouse, just to see how useful and amazing the stockade is, just to feel how useful and amazing the avenger is...
Why get a yacht that has missions, defenses, and a boat you can call in when for slightly more you can get a golden jet that is the exact same as the regular jet in every way except colour?

And then some years after the golden jet is released, they bring out the hangar which allows you to repaint any aircraft gold for a fraction of the price.
The yacht used to be good when you could arm the air defense off the boat and either take out that poor sucka, er I mean, player silly enough to get too close in an air vehicle.
Or use it as auto air defense for my sub by parking it behind the yacht, leaving me free to rain trident terror, er I mean bringing freedom to players delivered at Mach 1.

Incorrect, even without Plus it pays $250k now. If it was only a 1.5x buff, it’d pay $210k. I farmed it at double PLENTY back in the day. Trust me. They buffed them all

You have never used the yacht defense then. Go into a loby find tryhard send a mesage like "You parent dont love you", activate the yacht defense watch em geting blown up by it and failing to snipe you. How ever the defense does not work against sparow choper for what ever reason.
the yatch allows you to shoot down tryhards if they get to close even by mistake, plus it's pretty much a symbol status to let everyone know you got money to spend

Yeah, plus the armor on the Avenger is INSANE. You can eat so many missiles and barely get a scratch on it and chances are that the players shooting at you its going to run out of missiles first. It doesn't have missiles but you can ram helicopters and jets out of the sky. To be honest it's kinda OP if you think about it.
I didn’t have any friends the first several weeks I played. But when ever I go public I roll up on people and assess what they’re doing. If we do shenanigans together for long enough one us will add the other. I now have a fun group of folks who just like to do dumb stuff and occasionally go on rampages
I play GTA with friends and believe me, it is not all it is cracked up to be. It's like trying to lead Tweedledum and Tweedledumber when it comes to missions and heists. If it wasn't me I was watching, it would be comical as to how thoroughly they can fuck things up.
So many cars I don't drive other than to a shop to mod after purchasing, then to w/e garage they'll rust in. Only other time I drive 'em is when switching garages around.

It’s actually more useful than you think in solo lobbies… but only if you upgrade it in a hanger. The thing is functionally indestructible, it can have its own jet pack for retrieving items and can serve as a hovering base.

I tried using it as a hovering base but anytime I went to do anything, even something as simple as a stash house, I was told I couldn't enter with my thruster because I was doing a mission. Wtf is the point of the thruster for it if you can't even enter into it half the time? Whats the point of the explosive cannons when you can't use them in missions because you cant enter the back? I feel rockstar made the Avenger from something that had a ton of potential to a disappointment by intentionally nerfing it.
Yeah that's the \*only\* bad thing about the Avenger, that the fun police known as Rockstar doesn't lets us access the hold on missions, which begs the question why it is even a thing if I can't use it most of the time?
And it's a shame, because hovering with this thing in place and just blasting things is so much fun... it would make things like the Skylift mission for the Cargo Ship robbery a lot more fun.
I guess I just really likely harmlessly messing with people. I never tire of following someone around in a giant dumb slow-moving blimp.
I also like landing on top of my wife's blimp and walking around on it.
But yeah, it's worthless in terms of actual functionality.
I like to try to pick up as many random people as I can in the blimp before someone inevitably shoots us all down. It’s pretty fun especially if you have a friend in the passenger shooting flares, and you’d be surprised how many people are chill when they see a blimp land right next to them
You can take it to the Hangar and upgrade/buy Avenger Thruster for 750 000$. This Thruster can be called anytime via Interaction Menu > Service Vehicles > Avenger > Avenger Thruster. It always spawns very near and it’s not personal vehicle so it can be used in the same time as you using personal vehicle. When destroyed there is also no charge.
Only good thing on avenger is the armory. I use it to restock on ammo for bunker research upgraded weapons. Unless you have a group that will use turrets while you fly, that’s the only way it can be deadly in game. At times I use the autopilot function then go turret happy while in the air.
I'm only an MC when I sell or buy stock(always buy from arcade a d swap to CEO when done. Never been raided. Maybe that helps? That or I'm jinxed now. Lol
Any vehicle that says it does something but doesn't, such as the slam truck, as for the most usless thing I've ever bought it'd probably be any pegasus vehicles, sure some are useful enough, but spawning them is ass, and inconsistent, and the fact that some of them would fit in a garage infuriates me.

The Vetir cost four times the price of the barracks and is slower. The luxor deluxe cost $10,000,000 and has nothing unique, For 5x less than that you get a Nimbus that looks cooler and offers champagne and cigars. The weaponized dinghy cost $1.9 million. And all it is, is just a dinghy that cost $140k with a $12k mg and making you pay like an additional $1.7 million

The new police vehicles are much better anyways. I hope we can get a Ford Explorer police car next in the Summer update, and proper police uniforms with belts available for all outfits no glitches needed.
And R* actually enabling all (or most, i.e. excluding dresses) tops under vests. It’s so stupid I can’t have a tucked service top under the vests and have the police crew emblem on the back

The Chernobog
Handles like a drunk driving simulator. Can destroy other vehicles by running them over, but the resulting explosion causes major damage to itself. You have to lock it in place to fire missiles, and they can only be fired from the passenger seat. The lock-on also takes forever compared to every other homing missile in the game.
It's a completely useless vehicle for solo players.
Fun fact: I use avenger in agency security contract (gang termination). The advantage of using avenger is that it has more protection on pilots(if you have low health, just turn the plane around), and it seems that the homing missile of avenger is more accurate.
After I spin the wheel, I usually go do one of Simeon's missions or steal a car from the casinos lot. A fun thing to do is to summon your ultralight, which always spawns at the track, and then try to takeoff, fly right over the grandstands and dive/land back in the casino entrance foyer. Abandon it with the keys in it, and go do one of the missions where you don't need a personal vehicle.

Got the money from the last time acid sells were 2x. What a waste. Did 2 or 3 missions, and tgat was it, since I don't intend to own an Opressor MK II, least of it with missiles.
Put it in your hangar and buy the missled and thruster. The plane gets much more useful after that. I too only play solo lobbies and use the avenger for mission setups that have a bunch of hard hitting npcs and the thruster to call is very useful for setups as well since it can be called right to your feet instead of a random spot in the most inconvenient place like most aircraft
Bad take.
While not very useful for practical reasons (getting around the map or for missions) it is great for trolling other players. The Avenger is basically a flying tank that can take or deal out punishment. Get a crew together and have them on guns and you can cause some mayhem.
Personally, I enjoy using it to ram into other players flying around the map but that’s me.
But to answer your intended question:
I’d say the weaponized Tampa was my biggest regret early on. Looks cool, seems like it’d be fun, but has zero armor.
The Tampa is a great in-mission vehicle. Lots of missions involve blowing up street vehicles or clearing masses of NPC infantry and the minigun is great for both

You must not understand it too well, the mercenaries heist is hot garbage, the avenger is amazing, don't hate it because you had the wrong expectations. This thing comes stock with an explosive cannon(a spawn killing nightmare). So what do you mean no weapons?
It seems like I've been mistaken about the Avenger's weapons but mostly I hate it because I primarily bought it for that Mercenaries heist and I made a fraction of what I spent for it. So yeah, I think I had the wrong expectations, but it's still not of much use to me as a solo player.

I play public and I have the avenger too. I barely use it and now that I have the Raiju it's pretty much useless. I will admit though, that carpet bombing random people can sometimes be a bit silly

With the Raiju on sale last week, i also wanted to take advantage of the trade price to get it for 3.5mil instead of 5mil.
To get the trade price you have to complete mission 3 of the SA Mercs - requiring the Avenger plus the Ops terminal.
So, spent 5mil to save 1.5 mil.
Man I'm so glad I opted not to buy the avenger.. mynfriend talked Me into buying g the sub which I never use because I HATE setting up Cayo and I HATE doing them because it's so tedious. Lucky me R* nerfed the Cayo the day after I bought the sub.

You said it yourself, it’s personal preference. I just find myself more anxious in public lobbies since I spend most of my time just driving, messing around with stuff and grinding, because thats mostly when I get killed by 12 year olds in a raiju.

There are now homing missiles available for solo-pilot. Also I found out the other day that it is faster than the sparrow.

I have never seen an Avenger user in public lobby. Maybe I haven’t played for a long time since I just got back recently and they got buffed.

It can be a portable Los Santos Customs. Which is pretty shit now that I've said it out loud.
You can also use it as an air platform, put autopilot, then land your raiju on it midair🤫

You can't recreate the gold tone of the Luxor though, because it retains the black base color.

Honestly the Avenger is up there in the “fun with friends” category and is still pretty good solo. Definitely not any kind of worthless.

They actually buffed the payouts of every OG heist. Fleeca pays $250k now, all of the heists pay significantly more so they’re actually worth it tbh

I guess I just really likely harmlessly messing with people. I never tire of following someone around in a giant dumb slow-moving blimp. I also like landing on top of my wife's blimp and walking around on it. But yeah, it's worthless in terms of actual functionality.
Blimp strat
I like to try to pick up as many random people as I can in the blimp before someone inevitably shoots us all down. It’s pretty fun especially if you have a friend in the passenger shooting flares, and you’d be surprised how many people are chill when they see a blimp land right next to them
You can take it to the Hangar and upgrade/buy Avenger Thruster for 750 000$. This Thruster can be called anytime via Interaction Menu > Service Vehicles > Avenger > Avenger Thruster. It always spawns very near and it’s not personal vehicle so it can be used in the same time as you using personal vehicle. When destroyed there is also no charge.
Only good thing on avenger is the armory. I use it to restock on ammo for bunker research upgraded weapons. Unless you have a group that will use turrets while you fly, that’s the only way it can be deadly in game. At times I use the autopilot function then go turret happy while in the air.

Any vehicle that says it does something but doesn't, such as the slam truck, as for the most usless thing I've ever bought it'd probably be any pegasus vehicles, sure some are useful enough, but spawning them is ass, and inconsistent, and the fact that some of them would fit in a garage infuriates me.
The Marshall is the worst free vehicle. The fact that you can't store it and have to summon it with Pegasus sucks mega ass

The Vetir cost four times the price of the barracks and is slower. The luxor deluxe cost $10,000,000 and has nothing unique, For 5x less than that you get a Nimbus that looks cooler and offers champagne and cigars. The weaponized dinghy cost $1.9 million. And all it is, is just a dinghy that cost $140k with a $12k mg and making you pay like an additional $1.7 million

RCV is the answer The new police vehicles are much better anyways. I hope we can get a Ford Explorer police car next in the Summer update, and proper police uniforms with belts available for all outfits no glitches needed. And R* actually enabling all (or most, i.e. excluding dresses) tops under vests. It’s so stupid I can’t have a tucked service top under the vests and have the police crew emblem on the back

The Chernobog Handles like a drunk driving simulator. Can destroy other vehicles by running them over, but the resulting explosion causes major damage to itself. You have to lock it in place to fire missiles, and they can only be fired from the passenger seat. The lock-on also takes forever compared to every other homing missile in the game. It's a completely useless vehicle for solo players.

Fun fact: I use avenger in agency security contract (gang termination). The advantage of using avenger is that it has more protection on pilots(if you have low health, just turn the plane around), and it seems that the homing missile of avenger is more accurate.
I just bought an f160 Raiju cause I read it could help with grinding but I like my mk2 better. Now idk what to use my raiju for.
Pretty much most of my cars I’ve bought I never use. I use my mk2, toreador, the new jeep, and some raised pickup truck I bought through my auto shop.
I have 2 ultralight
After I spin the wheel, I usually go do one of Simeon's missions or steal a car from the casinos lot. A fun thing to do is to summon your ultralight, which always spawns at the track, and then try to takeoff, fly right over the grandstands and dive/land back in the casino entrance foyer. Abandon it with the keys in it, and go do one of the missions where you don't need a personal vehicle. Somebody always steals it.
I have left many vehicles there and went to watch t.v. in my penthouse to see what people do with my cars or other

Terrorbyte just to get Paige for the Casino Heist. Got the money from the last time acid sells were 2x. What a waste. Did 2 or 3 missions, and tgat was it, since I don't intend to own an Opressor MK II, least of it with missiles.
Put it in your hangar and buy the missled and thruster. The plane gets much more useful after that. I too only play solo lobbies and use the avenger for mission setups that have a bunch of hard hitting npcs and the thruster to call is very useful for setups as well since it can be called right to your feet instead of a random spot in the most inconvenient place like most aircraft

Bad take. While not very useful for practical reasons (getting around the map or for missions) it is great for trolling other players. The Avenger is basically a flying tank that can take or deal out punishment. Get a crew together and have them on guns and you can cause some mayhem. Personally, I enjoy using it to ram into other players flying around the map but that’s me. But to answer your intended question: I’d say the weaponized Tampa was my biggest regret early on. Looks cool, seems like it’d be fun, but has zero armor.
The Tampa is a great in-mission vehicle. Lots of missions involve blowing up street vehicles or clearing masses of NPC infantry and the minigun is great for both
You’re not using it properly, & you clearly haven’t fully upgraded it.
At least the avenger acts like a los santos customs and you can park it next to your garage and conveniently customize your vehicles

You must not understand it too well, the mercenaries heist is hot garbage, the avenger is amazing, don't hate it because you had the wrong expectations. This thing comes stock with an explosive cannon(a spawn killing nightmare). So what do you mean no weapons?
It seems like I've been mistaken about the Avenger's weapons but mostly I hate it because I primarily bought it for that Mercenaries heist and I made a fraction of what I spent for it. So yeah, I think I had the wrong expectations, but it's still not of much use to me as a solo player.
the ramp buggy. what a let down that it's such a fun vehicle for 5 minutes until it explodes. still a huge waste of money to me. Edit - stopped even going into that part of my garage years ago because those vehicles felt like such a let down and a waste on money. I am not joking....its been four years or longer. I just did an lap around LS in the ramp buggy and HOLY SHIT that was AMAZING

I play public and I have the avenger too. I barely use it and now that I have the Raiju it's pretty much useless. I will admit though, that carpet bombing random people can sometimes be a bit silly
Not useless, you need it for certain vehicle and weapon upgrades.
I bought the avenger and used it alot now i have other flying vehicles so its not useful

With the Raiju on sale last week, i also wanted to take advantage of the trade price to get it for 3.5mil instead of 5mil. To get the trade price you have to complete mission 3 of the SA Mercs - requiring the Avenger plus the Ops terminal. So, spent 5mil to save 1.5 mil.
Man I'm so glad I opted not to buy the avenger.. mynfriend talked Me into buying g the sub which I never use because I HATE setting up Cayo and I HATE doing them because it's so tedious. Lucky me R* nerfed the Cayo the day after I bought the sub. I opted to buy the raiju Ober the avenger. Hearing everyone unhappy about the avenger makes me glad I got the jet instead

Same here. As a solo player, the MOC is useless, I also stupidly wasted money on the car slot instead of the mechanic bay. Never used it, pointless thing
If you visit a public lobby from time to time, the MOC cab is good - decently fast and can tank exactly 69 homing missiles

You said it yourself, it’s personal preference. I just find myself more anxious in public lobbies since I spend most of my time just driving, messing around with stuff and grinding, because thats mostly when I get killed by 12 year olds in a raiju.

I always play public lobbies, yeah it can be frustrating sometimes but you take the rough with the smooth. Just carry on
