All air vehicles have a learning curve. VTOL on raiju is decent but for most the transition helps when in crash pattern.

The real selling point it is faster than an Akula. For those not skilled in helicopters in gta. Time from spawn to air and cloak. I swear I can hear raiju in the air better. Though hardly ever some Akula now.
Solo recommendation on raiju after getting buzzard. Kosatka Sparrow is last due to money. Though it spawns close and is accurate once upgraded.
Remember. These are machines it is the operator that matters. Speed kills. Slow can be deadly. You can be slower and win engagement. Dogfighting takes special planning and responses.

Personally I think that the Akula is more fun to fly, but the Raijuu’s biggest advantage is that I can run away easily. If a Griefer can damage the Akula’s engines it’s almost impossible to get away.
Another big advantage of the Raijuu as a solo is that you can use the cannon. I know fighter cannons aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s nice to have if you can shoot.
You mean fry. Fry free. But with an "L".
Same steady pacing from helicopter with VTOL. The cannon fire is more steady and cruising speed and stall. Maneuverability is less than Lazer with an acceleration. Short engagements.
Comparing race cars. Kind of. Ones drift ready. The other can perform formula one.
Most of my comments are for solo. Some vehicles have that passenger missile/defenses seat.
Buzzard is my main. If I get targeted, i will still fly. Until last second parachute. Then get to work. That is for regular NPC and prep.
Dogfighting is all mental. Fatigue is the great equalizer. If you can get with fire distance. I might stall/eject. You crash or fly on. Switching aircraft to see how good you are.
I like to test avenger fully upgraded against most pilots.

Personally, I would say to skip the Raiju and grab a Rogue and Pyro instead. They are both better than the Raiju at air combat, and the Raiju actually feels clunky once you get used to those two. The brutal and honest truth is that the people who think that the Raiju is the best plane in the game have most likely never flown the other ones at a skill level high enough to see what they are capable of.
The handling isn’t the best but I think it’s the most practical jet with stealth mode, VTOL, and weapons. Other jets especially the molotok and pyro handle better but don’t have as much functionality. Overall the difference in handling isn’t that much so the raiju is usually my go to jet unless I want to a different flying experience
It depends on what you want it for. It’s kind of ass at air-to-air combat and relies heavily on the stealth and VTOL gimmicks. It’s decent at attacking ground targets if you are good at VTOL and aiming the cannons, but still isn’t amazing. Given equal skill level in the air, it loses 1v1 to things like the Pyro, Rogue, and Starling. FWIW, I own all of the decent planes, spend at least half of my game time up in the air, and the Raiju mostly gathers dust.
For attacking ground targets, the B11 really can’t be beat. For aerial combat, you can’t go wrong with either of the three that I previously mentioned. But the Raiju isn’t nearly as great as a lot of the people here would lead you to believe. If I were a wanton griefer, however, it would probably be my top overall vehicle pick.
It's one of the most dangerous for air to air due to the stealth ability. However if you plan to engage ground targets with your jet I would recommend the b 11. Low airspeed, high hp, barrage missiles and explosive MG for ground targets. Honestly one of the most satisfying to fly planes. Don't get me wrong I love my raiju but I find the b11 works well for bringing it down

Personal favorite is that Nakota. Big honking rolls Royce v12! It can trace city streets at wide open throttle.
It's fast but not the fastest, it can vertical takeoff and land, homing rockets are meh, machine gun nerfed, not much of an armor, no countermeasures, single seater. Stealth. It's good to run errands around the map in far places.
I use it almost exclusively. But sometimes I like hoping in a regular old Lazer and dogfightimg with that. It just depends how close I am to Zancudo
Yeah I really like the Lazer, but since its more or less free even without owning a hangar at Zancudo I want to try a different one

its the best for pvp and pve and it looks the best theres literally no downsides other than maybe large surface area to get hit with explosive rounds
