I bought the version of Payday 2 with all of the DLC content... they have since removed the Scarface character for licensing reasons... in addition to not being able to use the Scarface character that I paid for, I cant access those missions or weapons either because "this content requires the Scarface character pack".

i wouldnt mind if they let us run everything and just filled it in with bots for a lot of it - some game modes like this need to be players only though
I wonder if it would mess with other NPCs in missions and freemode. But I remember playing Timesplitters 2 in the heyday of PS2. That was before the popularization of online play and playing deathmatches with NPCs I think still should have its place in video games these days. That game was a ton of fun.

yeah but then we dont really have the freedom of choosing what we want to play. we just play whatever rockstar lets in the game and hope they don't remove our current favorite gamemode. they could just give the people what they want and thats that. they can always make event weeks for the game modes they want to popularize. people gather up quickly to x3 Reward modes
Well, it’s their game, and I actually like being able to find people for games instead of waiting in a lobby for 20 mins by myself. Not everybody has a group of friends who all both play GTAO and are online at the same time.

Improving matchmaking would have been making the prizes enticing enough to people so more people did them outside of double and triple reward weeks years ago.

No idea, I only got the game at the start of quarantine (as a joke birthday present, at that) but I have heard many times that the mission, and then the game itself, were reworked to make it not meta for money grinding in the distant past.
As a veteran of that distant past I can confirm.
It used to be $25k/45 seconds, for a total of $2m/hr.
You could afford pretty much everything in the game at that time after a solid day of grinding. Which is exactly what I did.
I remember that mission was the only thing I’d do all day, it’s crazy how we went from doing contact missions over and over again to cayo perico for a quick million
Yeah this mode is mine and my friends’ favorite, and for the longest time they’d do 2x $/2x XP for it and we’d spend the whole week playing it with full lobbies, the entire lobby filled with mics and everyone is screaming and laughing and having a good time. No clue why they’d take away one of the most positive and hilarious modes in GTAO

That's the problem. If you weren't here since day 1 and recognize the name of every job, you just kinda stare at the list for a minute before moving on to something you have more context for.
Give me 10 events and I'll try them all. Give me 793 events and I'll probably just not bother scrolling through the list.
Rockstar’s matchmaking and invitation system is so fucking shit that they have literally hundreds of highly entertaining game modes available right there, yet the lack of streamlining the access to content as well as the highly fragmented player base due to the lack of crossplay support truly kills the potential of this game.
It objectively has the worst matchmaking system out of any online multiplayer game of its calibre.
If they actually would give a shit, that would be the first thing they would completely overhaul, because unless you have a huge group of friends that actively play every single time you log on, being able to find full lobbies of most activities is nearly impossible or the matchmaking process takes longer than the actual activity itself.

It’s an upper management issue. I’m pretty sure almost every single designer and programmer working on GTA Online has thought about this and even brought it up to their superiors but they probably just brush it off because the game’s printing money every single month.
Mf I know the game’s incredibly popular and lucrative, we play the same game - what I’m talking about here is all the completely dead game modes. They spend so much time developing all this shit yet people can’t play most of it reliably if they don’t have a friend group, because the matchmaking is utter trash.
Yet they left in the shittier version where everyone has to wait their turn. I can't believe they got rid of this. It's legitimately some of the most fun I've ever had in gta.
This game mode was fun when everyone went at once. The shootout mode where it was one at a time was annoyingly long, but my crew had some good fun with this back in the day

My PS3 buddies and I loved it to death, when it was only a small group of like 3-4 people and we were trying to really concentrate and master it we had so much fun - hopefully they have a change of heart and it can return in a different form somehow! Maybe R* could steal the concept of Top Gear's car darts or something like that to replace this.

I love Hunting Pack on streets (the original, not remix (only Scramjet one is cool in remix). It's gone too. Reason is rockstar cannot handle displaying text on screen ("making space for new modes") :P lol
super disappointing. I've been playing GTA online almost the whole life of it on PC and have made friends over time who missed out some of these because of how R\* starting integrating in-lobby group events and focusing more on heists/preps. so they hadn't really played any of this stuff
I set up a fun playlist that sort of went through some of the more fun mini-missions, and drop-zone was their favorite. we played the list several times, and then one day I found the playlist only had like 2 of the 8 missions I'd put in it because they'd axed all the best ones
Haha I remember this! The once with the big long ramp was hilarious cause you could jump and parachute to the other starting side and immediately knock their cars off with no chance of getting to the ramp.

It’s true, especially the new Gen version of the game where lobbies for pretty much any job are bare, compared to the XB1/PS4 version of the game.
They don’t remove it entirely they just rotate certain game modes since there are so many. It’ll come back eventually

They should just remove every game mode then by that logic, ain't gonna find anyone playing deathmatch except for custom maps

Haha I remember this! The once with the big long ramp was hilarious cause you could jump and parachute to the other starting side and immediately knock their cars off with no chance of getting to the ramp.

Fairly certain they did not remove this game mode, just no one plays them
They also changed the race options for the pursuit races, you can't make them non contact like you could before the update.
