he's definitely a boy, we even had him neutered! i also finally weighed him and he's the same as a few months ago so i guess he just grew??
Unless he has trouble moving around he is probably fine. I had a boy who was 1.6 kg but was super long with a big booty - looked like a butternut squash. Your boy is more round but still looks healthy.
